This is a good point. However there is a grand conspiracy behind 'inthi' (that's the way it is spelled in tamil) yedirppu by the Dravidan parties. Soon after indepdence EVR & other Dravidian cronies realised the "dominant role" the northies will play in the indian political arena. So, anyone with a good knowledge of Hindi was definitely at an advantage. Sensing that this possibly could become an 'escape route' for the brahmins, the dravidan parties started opposing Hindi. Ofcourse the move by Nehru of seeming to "impose" came in handy. So as much as it is about "love for tamil", the other main reason was to prevent brahmins any toehold on the "Delhi Administration". That MK chose Dayanidhi over other MPs to represent in the Union Cabinet due to his "knowledge of hindi" is a different matter altogether.

[SIR- I have a suggestion to moderators of this site. in CNN/IBN website all views of the public on various matters are invited by the channel. but they are not published instantly. moderators of the website publish the views only after editing them fully. i have also recorded my views on various matters under my same name- N.Suresh. 99% of my views have been published- but not immediately- only after moderators approve them. 1% of my views have not been published at all!! i request moderators of our site to consider following the same pattern. it will ensure that anti socials, goons and vandals do not register in fake names and vomit abuses on our freedom fighters. if this is not done soon, i am sure this site will become english vomit of 'murasoli'!!!

Presently you are editing the views of members after recording them publicly.but in this pattern, lumpens are allowed freedom of registering their views(?) and publicising them for a few days. this freedom has been misused by some nefarious elements to mudsling our freedom fighters. so i request moderators to seriously consider implementing my request.

SIR - We have been discussing about serious issues. let us have some fun now. as long as we have parties like dmk, there will be no dearth of comedy! the dmk chiefminister of t.nadu has issued a laughable order that henceforth, people should not present shawls or garlands to ministers or officials during govt. functions. instead people have been asked to present books! this is more dangerous! people who want to bribe ministers or officials can always hide bribes in the form of cash notes inside these books and handover to ministers or officials whom they want to bribe! wonder whether this is the intention of dmk govt!i think dmk t.nadu govt. should issue an order that no present or gifts in any form should be presented by public to any minister or official at all always.

SIR - The kerala govt. instead of honouring the supreme court verdict on mullaiperiyar river dispute,has rubbed salt on t,nadu wounds by claimingthat late mgr in 1979 had actually supported kerala stand onthe river dispute! what mgr had reportedly said in 1979 is not important. what supreme court says in2006 is important and binding on all. the kerala govt.which has thrown supreme court order into dustbin, must understand this. the pindrop silence of t.nad dmk chiefminister onthis matter is also surprising!!!

SIR- Mahatma gandhi had openly written in his autobiography 'my experiments with truth' about the various mistakes he had committed in his life during various stagesof his life. he has also written about his sexual escapades in his various books. unlike dmk chiefminister of t.nadu, gandhiji has not indulged in self boasting in his books. that being the case some 'paavatmaas' suddenly discovering sexual escapades of the mahatma is amusing! gandhiji would have mentioned, atleast without naming the women, about these relationships had they been true. i request that these types of pornos be subject to strict moderation so that unsubstantiated mudslingers do not get a platform for their cheap propaganda through this site.

'Paavatma' ????!!!!!

I don't know what has upset you so much. The thread on 'Gandhi' only contains certain published data. One is the article written by a former IAS officer & another is about the cover story carried by one of the weeklies.

If you think that this is mudslinging so be it. I am not sure about the article by the IAS officer, but the cover story in Outlook focuses on the upcoming book of 'Raj Mohan Gandhi' who is the 'paavatma' as per your definition. And if you insist, you can pickup the mag & go thru the interview in which Raj Mohan claims that this books is all about seperating the "man" and the "mahatma". Raj Mohan himself claims that there are 'indirect' references to this relationship in Gandhi's autobiography. I haven't read it & would surely like to check this out. Recently i downloaded Gandhi's autobiography & i will find out for myself.

If your point is that Gandhi is beyond all criticisms, excuse me, i don't quite subscribe to that line of thinking. Atleast in my post, i have stated that if the relationship is true, it is a matter of his personal choice & hence doesn't deserve any criticism. So, i haven't called it as his 'darker' or 'lighter' side but just 'another' side of his personality.

As much as Nehru's leadership is hailed (atleast by Congressmen), his relationship with Edwina Mountbatten is an open fact. So no one in the public domain can escape being criticised.

Also i don't think anyone of us can sit in judgement about the 'athma' of any another merely because of a different view/perspective.

SIR - I am not saying that gandhiji is above criticism. i am only saying that such criticism should not be based on unsubstantiated rumours. particularly when you consider the fact that gandiji's life has been an openbook. gandhiji himself has openly talked and written about his mistakes . i do not have much brief for this rajmohan gandhi. but i do agree with hariharan that nehru reportedly had a flair for edwina mountbatten!!! i am not that much upset. i did not use the word 'paavatma' to denote hariharan.
anyway i thank hariharan for responding quicky and articulately to my views on the above matter.

SIR - The so called rationalists(?) in t.nadu are saying that they are 'controlling' their 'anger' against brahmins because there is a dmk chiefminister in t.nadu! it seems even for 'rationalists' it is anger which takes precedence and dominance over 'rationality'! the 'rationalists' also boast about themselves that they are an open minded people. they say even if they break the law, they will do so only after publicly announcing so! again it seems for 'rationalists' breaking law for cheap publicity is more important than being 'rational'!!!

Dear Suresh:
You have been a prolific contributor to our forums and I respect your views, though I may not agree with you on some issues. In this case, however, I have to agree with what Hariharan1972 has written.
Just because you think of Mr. Gandhi as 'Mahatma' doesn't mean the rest of us (at least a few of us) should or would feel that way about him. By this I don't mean to insult him but we have our own opinions and views based on what we have read and what we have seen thru history. There are stories about Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, et al.

I believe many Indians are obsessed with the 'hero-worship' mentality which clouds their rational judgment. We like to overlook these people's faults and make them larger than life.

My last take on 'paavatmas'

My last bit on this topic before it is laid to rest :

Suresh, I am happy to note that you don't consider me a 'paavatma'. I would be lying if i say i didn't feel aggrieved. Who wouldn't when someone who doesn't even know you personally concludes that one is a 'paavatma'. I was so concerned as to whether my list of 'paavams' are running so long that god has 'outsourced' it to others for maintenance !!!!

Even if you had meant it for me, i was consoling myself that i should read it as 'paav' + 'atma' which would give the impression that my 'atma' is as soft as the 'paav' in vadapav ? :thumb:

Anyways back to being serious : I guess the source being someone from Gandhi's own family in my view lends additional credibility to the information purely from the point of view of elimination of 'bias'. We'll agree to disagree on this. One thing for sure is that i will buy Raj Mohan's book coz it promises to interpret Gandhi differently. Meanwhile in that interview there was a statement that Gandhi is the most written about person in the world... Could this be true ?

[SIR - I am not hero worshipping gandhiji as silverfox has accused. actually, it is very difficult for any person to follow gandhiji because his view were so orthodox and opposite to present day life. but this rajmohan gandhi i think is a fake gandhi- he should be included inthe list of feroze, indira, sanjay, rajiv, sonia, priyanka and rahul gandhis!!! will this gandhi have the courage to write about the nehru's reported flair for edwina mountbatten???

SIR- For the benefit of many of our members who are based outside t.nadu and india, i have been mentioning the day to day happenings in t.nadu,which may or may not have direct or indirect implications for tamil brahmins.since presently there is a dmk chiefminister in t.nadu there is bound to be lot of comedy! here are the latest top 2 comedies!

the dmk chiefminister of t.nadu has filed a tearful defamation complaint in chennai high court accusing MDMK Founder(?) Vaiko of maligning him. the dmk chiefminister has, all along his life abused his rivals in the filthiest of terms.now, he is getting a sour taste of his own bitter medicine from his own one time follower , vaiko gopalsamy!!!

the dmk chiefminister has issued a laughable statement that 'if i have 30 crorers of rupees, i will buy vaiko with that money'! look at the priority of a rationalist!! even if he amasses 30 crores, he will not donate even a penny for poor tamils! he says he will 'buy' his political rivals with that amount! so much concern for poor people!!!

SIR- mamata banerjee,westbengal parliamentarian had been on an'indefinite' fast for past 25 days protesting against 'capitalist' economic policies of 'communist' government of west bengal! though i agree with her objective i do not subsribe to resorting to 'indefinite' fasts. gandhiji resorted to 'fast unto death' during british rule because there was no democracy during that time in india. so there was no other way to put pressure on the rulers. but, we are now living in a free,democratic society. resorting to 'indefinite' fasts is a sort of blackmail. but like all 'indefinite' fasts, mamta has also withdrawn her fast!

about 2 or 3 yrs. ago the present dmk chief minister of t.nadu also threatened to go on an 'indefinite' fast against then aiadmk govt., but withdrew the 'fast' within minutes of its commencement!

Just avoid the bad ppl

I wnt to say that ppl like satya and kaml ,karuna , maniratham are selfish fellows and they are clearly against us . They call,Leader of oppressors Sonia's act as a big sacrifice. But here in TN we tolerate the oppression even without showing the protest in ahimsa way.I strongly suggest to avoid their movies. Remember Kamal is not missing even a single opportunity to malign Hindus. In his movies he wil advocate for religion conversion , portray athiest as gud ppl and God believers as bad (Anbe sivam and virumandi then another bullshit movie).I dont say all God believers are Gud or all athiests are bad. But i suspect this guy is doing it intentionally and only against God believers only. In TN politicians tak every move intentionally targetting us. Thats y those ppl doubt we behaved like them in the past(means purposefully made religion to oppress others which is again have no evidence at all ).Karunanithis jarlas getting awards is not a new thing. Look fwd for national awards. U wil surely find Vairamuthu thr.

Singur Land issue

I guess the farmers shud be paid a little above the market price (existed before the deal began to avoid speculative prices) . Otherwise its really hit them bad if they dont get any spl concessions from the plant.
Having said that its really gud to see communists are also willing to help industry and creating jobs instead of blaming them. Day by day they prove that most of their stands are incorrect by themselves. One more thing to notice is they will never get back the support for this Govt. So from atleast now they hav to start some reforms. 'Reform' seems to be the bad word for MMS and almost forgotten word in the present regime.

[SIR - Rationalists(?) in t.nadu have threatened to erect about 128 statues of the periar all over the state in 2007. the dmk chiefminister has maintained a stonic silence on the issue. this is a bad precedent.in 2008 muslim league may threaten to erect 228 statues of mohd.ali jinnah all over the state. i n 2009 fans of shibu soren may threaten to erect 328 statues of shibu soren all overt.nadu. is statues are erected at this rate, we may have to face a huge shortage of space for people to live in!!!

SIR - Hats off to american president george bush for enforcing international rule of law and carrying out death penalty for barbaric dictator saddam hussain as per court orders.even in india we have a prime minister called manamohan. even though highest court of law has awarded death penalty to cold blood murderer afzal, the manamohan has not had the spine or masculanity to carry out the court order. a mercy petition filed by barbarian afzal is pending with indian president for months. the manamohan is giving VIP treatment to afzal. all thi just for the sake of a few muslim votes! shame on you manamohan!!!

sir - Fire is right inhis view about kamalahaasan. the problem with this fellow kamalahaasa is that he was born as a brahmin.in a state dominated by anti brahmin abuses, the kamalahaasa suffers from inferiorty complex. he fears his career maybe jeapordised. therefore to safeguard his career(?), he indulges in cheap and third class ridicule of brahmins in his films. actually, as per censors rules potraying any community in an offensive manner is not permissible. still the kamalahaasa somehow manages to get his films censored and retains the filthy portions. i am sure the kamalhaasa must have bribed the censors. we should blame censors more than the kamalahaasa. the kamalahaasa is a skin seller who mints money by titillating front benches by showing female skin in his films. it is the duly and responsibility of the censor officials more than the kamalahaasa, not to certify films against censor rules. had censor officials done so, most of kamalahaasa films would never have been released at all! the kamalahaasa has himself accepted that he is a voyeur. he seems to be a vulgar casanova. we should not discuss about this pathological rascal beyond this point as it will not be in conformity with the standards of this site.
Manirathna, k. balachandran are also scavengers of the kamalahaasa toilet.

SIR- Pseudo journalist gnani lists the number of criminals in india and says more muslims are arrested than hindus. but more hindus are victimised by islamic terror than muslims. most of the persons who were murdered, injured, orphaned in coimbatore blasts, mumbai blasts, varanasi, delhi blasts were all hindus. why is the agnaani ..err. sorry..gnani not taking about this? will the gnani compile a list of muslim freedom fighters? it should be almost zero!!!

SIR - Gujarat chief minister Mr. Narendra Modi has said that all gifts he has received, and will be receiving in future as chiefminister will be auctioned and the proceeds will be used to help the poor! this is a laudable move.the dmk chiefminister of t.nadu said in 1998 that all gifts which he has received and will be receiving as chief minister will be sent to the party trust. the dmk chiefminister should take a leaf out of Mr.Narendra Modi's book & divert all gifts he receives as chiefminister to the poor.

SIR - Some of our members have suggested about a possible brahmin-christian alliance. i don't think this is possible. because brahminism is a pure indian religion laying emphasis on vegeteranism. but christianity is a foreign impure religion which invaded india, and a religion which permits even cannibalism and untouchability!
