[SIR - I was seeing a film called 'manmatha leelai' directed by the so called 'everest' director k.balachandran. the hero is discredited kamalahaasa. the film is so vulgar it is almost like a blue film. this film was released almost30 yrs. back. one wonders how censors cerified this rubbish movie! it seems if you have money and influence like k. balachandran and kamalahaasa, you can even publicly produce and release pornography and succeed!!

[SIR- IN india, mosques are controlled by muslims. churches are adminstered by christians. but unfortunately, brahmin temples are run (actually ruined) by anti brahmins.the gods in almost all these temples are brahmins or avataar of brahmins gods. the priests are all brahmins. the traditions are all brahmins. so naturally these temples should be brought under control of brahmins n 2 categories- saiva temples under exclusive control of saiva brahmins & vaishanava temples under exclusive control of vaishnava brahmins.

among vaishnavaites there are two sub sects. it is said Tenkalai sect laid emphasis on tamil also in temples.but vadakalai sect strived for prominence to sanskrit. this led to split in vaishnava religion into 2 sects. ironically though tenkalai brahmins emphasised so much for tamil, so called 'rationalists' say they are not 'tamils' at all, because they are brahmins! but muslims who have urdu as their mother tongue and who use arabic in mosques are 'tamils' , according to these 'rationalists'!!! of course, yours truly is also a tenkalai brahmin!!!

If at all anyone had the right to overthrow him & punish him, it was the Iraqis themselves & not European Christian "FIRANGIS" from America. SIR - Unfortunately, as gopalsamy pointed out, even law says that you should not abuse an sc/st by his caste name. as per law,nobody can be abused by his caste name. it is a penal offence. but abusing an sc/st is considered by law as a more serious offence. if other castes are abused by their caste identity, you can still complain to police or file a case in a court of law. but the punishment is not all that severe i think. and moreover the final verdict takes lot of time to be delivered. it is easy for persons like dmk chiefminister of t.nadu to escape by using all sorts of influence. that is why the dmk chiefminister is not afraid of abusing brahmins. remember, it was the same dmk which withdrew 'dravida nadu' separatist demand after nehru introduced a law threatening to ban seccessionist organisations. so if a strict and severe law is introduced against persons indulging in casteist abuses and implemented in letter and spirit, the dmk chiefminister will backtrack out of fear and even pen hosannas on brahmins!!

SIR - kaundinya says saddam is a friend of india. but with these types of friends you dont need enemies at all! saddam was a big sponsor of terrorism and extremism just like miyan musharaf! he was hanged not by bush, but by court! a country;s foreign policy cannot be based on sentiments alone, but also on the basis of facts and international track records of various ruers. the saddam trail was free and transparent. it was held under international auspices. all proofs, evidences, mercy petitions were thoroughly scrutinised and only after that saddam was pronounced guilty. the world media monitored the trail very closely. so i dont think there is any point in blaming bush in this matter. but in some other case criticism of bush may be valid. in this case, bush has shown lot of courage in implementing court verdict without flinching even an inch unlike indian PM manmohan who has kept supreme court verdict on afzal in cold storage! about rajiv's assassins, yes! i agree with kaundinya. i think the clemency powers for governors and presidents should be withdrawn immediately. when all courts verify all proofs and evidences before pronouncing an accused guity and awarding him death penalty, these governors and presidents sleep over mercy petitions for years and give the matter a decent burial! what will happen if the cold blood murderers escape from jail and murder many more innocent persons? may be that is what these governors and presidents are waiting for!!!

All of your points are true! It's USA which is pouring millions in aid to pakistan. And it's Bush who killed thousands of Iraqis under the pretext of finding non-existent WMD. Online trading has already lead to skyrocketing of prices of essential commodities.
Generally, cement prices and prices of various commodities have increased manifold since dmk chiefminister came to power in may 2006. the trend could continue
Refusal of kerala govt. to obey supreme court order on mullaiperiyaru dam issue
Reduction of ticket cost in theatres means reduction in profit for cinema industry.
Opening of special economic zones all over state leading to loss of jobs, misuse of agricultural lands, loss of tax revenues to state & central govts and skyrocketing of real estate land cost.
More than 100% increase in insurance premium in many nonlife categories of insurance.
Irresponsible doling out of money and rice, gas, land etc., leading to depletion of treasury.
Doling out tax payers money to tainted sportsperson, tainted films, tainted actors and
the tainted tamilfilm industry on the silly precondition that the film must be named in tamil!
Add to this problem on law and order front and infrastructural deficiences.
The dmk chiefminister of t.nad should look into these matters, if and when he gets time!!

I am an American of Indian descent but I do not subscribe to Mr. Bush's policies; in my mind, he is still an 'accidental' president. There are millions of Americans (as well as millions of Indians) who do not agree with Mr.Bush, except maybe the IT industry because Bush has sent all the outsourcing jobs over to India.

Mr. Bush is responsible for the deaths of over 3000 of our (American) brave soldiers in this stupid Iraq war. I wish someone would bring action against him.

SIR - The dmk chiefminister of t.nadu has appointed a committee on the 'instructions' of central govt., to 'commomorate' 2550th death anniversary of the buddha! the committee is dominated by socalled 'rationalists', 'atheists' , 'communists' and 'socialists'. is it right for a secular govt,. to associate with a figure like the buddan out of tax payers money?. i am a history student. i have read, heard about the buddan. my inference is that the buddhan is mentally imbalanced ! he lectured about non violence, but he did not seemed to have prevented his followers from abusing brahmins, misbehaving with brahmin women, vandalising brahmin places of worship.he supported meat eating which is a barbaric practice. he opposed god, but he himself was converted to a god by his followers and he did not stop them ! buddhan is contradictory and confusing. not surprisingly, buddhism was expelled from india lock, stock and barrel!! the vitroilic buddan reportedly claimed there is only one god in the world and that god was himself! we must be eternally thankfully to adisankarar for getting us rid of this menace called buddhism.

of course, secularism is not negation of religion i agree. still i think it would be better for govts. in india to divorce tax payers money from glorification of the buddan.

SIR-2006 was certainly not a good year for tamil brahmins. a chiefminister in t.nadu who publicly heaps 'rational' abuses on brahmins and a prime minister who is dependent on brahmin abusers to continue in office were not good advertisement for tamil brahmins. let us pray that in 2007 we get a chiefminister who does not abuse any caste, community or religion and a prime minister who is not dependent on pathological casteists for remaining in office

(but lighting lamps and harmless fireworks is perfectly admissible according to my humble opinion) But there are many differences between murdering animals and lighting noisy crackers. whereas murdering animals is even directly banned by law, lighting noisy crackers is not. so whereas murdering animals should be totally dispensed off, i think lighting noisy crackers cannot be totally banned,but only reduced, regulated, controlled and monitored.

SIR - Today is a holiday for my office due to bakrid and new years day -both of whom i have never celebrated and never will- although i greet people on this occassion. i take this free time to record my views on MGR.

MGR was not even born in india. he was not even a tamil. he was a malayalee. he was uneducated. he did not have a big family with 4 wives, numerous sons, daughters, in laws, relatives just like some'rational' politicians have. he was not very rich either because he used to donate to the poor - even without much publicity. so the money he earned did not remain with him completely. he did not have the support of tamil and english media just like some 'tamizhina thalaivargal' . the only source of support he had was his fans, volunteers of his party and the poor people of t.nadu. he was shot dead by a 'rational' actor M.R. Radha in 1967 and although he survived, this attack reduced his lifetime and he died in 1987, when he could easily have lived for many more years considering that he was a teetotaller without even a single bad habit. his administrative record as chiefminister was not the best. but he was a neutral person who did not publicly loathe any religion, caste or community. he did not suffer from any inferority complex like some 'social justice saviours', that he was a non brahmin. he showed remarkable will power in escaping death when he was shot at in 1967. may his soul rest in peace.
