kanchana,

sangom may be able to answer astrology queries. you might try sending a private message. not sure what you want.
Shri Kunjuppu, Smt. kanchana,

Mine is only an amateur interest in astrology. I find there are some other members like KRS, Nachi Naga and Sravna who may consent to advice by PM. Anyway, I have no objection in telling what little I can but it will be very rudimentary and not a professional advice.

Intro

Hi All,

Long Time Since I have visited this website, so thought of starting of with an Intro.

Me Rakesh Ramachandran, Grand Grand son of Thrithalla Krishna Iyer, Grand Son of Subrahmanya Iyer Vadama Sect, Original Family from tanjavore who migrated to Palghat centuries ago, right now I am working in Bangalore in an IT company. Still single and looking (just being a bit playful). Now with regards to interests in Indian Traditions and other things,

Interested in Sri Vidya and other tantric upasana paddhathis.
Knowledgeable in the basics of Advaita, Dvaita, Visishtadvaita, Samkhya, Raja Yoga, and other philosophical branches of the east and the west.
Interested in carnatic music and plan to learn it after some time ( Although criticize people who plan to learn it, thats my nature even though I do not know I am a great criticizer of others who are try to show off their skills in carnatic) Famous Criticism: I could see every bride profile it shows splendid words of "Interested in Carnatic Music", and my simple and humble question to them was explain to me the meaning of raga shankarabharanam, girls quite surprised they thought originals do not appear so easily but some people like me jump and appear and question them and they all fall. One girl said I have learned for 12 years and with my explanation of raga she started to ask for discipleship I said i am myself a disciple so no plans of making more :target:

After all these abstract topic I am into a bit of upanishads, vedas, and other allied stuff like sutras. Now since life is not complete with these topics I thought of venturing a bit into astrology, and later realized none of these are my cup of tea and probably share trading is the best, so right now engaged in trying to learn that.

More topics to come in the life to come

Regards,
Rakesh

Niceway of introducing yourself. As you are so much knowing carnatic music, i feel to get iterested in music is not so important
to know ragas.I dont know are recoganice any ragas. But i love carnatic music of any one which mesmorise you by listening. ofcourse
if you can identify ragas it will be added pleasure. I love any music including Tamil/Hindi Flim music upto 1980,s, gasals & qwali songs.
But listening carnatic music of Legends like Maharajapuram Santhanam,Madurai Mani iyer,GNB & MS will take you out of world even if you
dont know the ragas like me.

Hey you got me wrong. I am interested in carnatic music but not in Raagas, I think you should read about trinity of carnatic music, bhakti is what it takes to reach carnatic music, to understand and there is no use of this mundane intellectual exercise of reading notes and other crap when you do not have bhakti, and when bhakti arises music arises. remember nadopasana is nothing the but the practise of nadha or the brhaman itsel or more preferrebly the god himself so if you are in bhakti music will arise automatically because each word you speak has music its just that you are not able to bring it out correctly, but when bhakti arises those incorrect connotations become correct and thats when nadopasana occurs. refer to the history of papanasam sivan in wiki , its a good insight how eventhough lately he started he became Thayagraja of Tamil Nadu, also Purandara das he emerged because of bhakti and not because of any previous carnatic music and today's moder worlds mundane courses.

Sri Rakesh, welcome,

While reading your intro, I had in my mind the intros in the Tamil films, Apoorva Raagangal... (for eg: Rajanikant's (character) entry was given a title "Sruthibhedam". Then I recalled the intro of the various roles of Kamal Hasan in 'Michael madana kaamaraajan".To be frank,I enjoyed the humorous way you introduced yourself.

I find a similarity here in another member of this forum Sri Raghy, who also has a way with mild humour. These are welcome breaks.

Having said so much, I feel you are a jack-of-all -trades.

If you can take it in humour,

then I may tell about the small mouse( Sundeli). It bites on everything it sees, and does not spare anything eventhough it may not relish that, and it is not its food. The big ones are more selective though more potential.

Jokes apart, I also had some audacity like you.Once I questioned a medical student, what was the basic difference between Allopathy,Homeopathy and Ayurveda. The student was not able to tell, because they were not taught like that. But whatever I said was enough then to score a point for me. I jokes then that this why now many people prefer Tirupathi and Venkatachalapathy to other 'pathy' s.

Welcome to the forum ,and best wishes for a sustained stay and positive contributions.

Greetings

hey hey i am not the sundeli but the big rat, which bites everyone, because its teeth keeps on growing ;) share trading is also another topic which i am trying to bite, now if i find something which is like rubber can be bitten but cannot be digested then i will be happy and life is over ;) " gurosthu mounam sishyasthu chinna samsayaha"

i will become silent and will not come to the forum, will not go to any body, will become engrossed in my own self, till then all this biting will continue.

Quote:...."till then all this biting will continue. "
Sri Rakesh,
Pls continue your 'bites' and 'Bytes". After all, life is only of bits and Bi(y)tes.
Hoping to see you more in this field..

Greetings

P.S: Sri Rakesh, I have a relative from Thrithala. From your intro details,I presume that ,you two may be cousins( first level or second level). I may check up with my relative and let you know later.

I am planning to start the bride search since there is a rush it is good to have an application ready in hand and get it done earlier. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Also would like to know the buying price of current brides in the market, like how much should be the salary of the groom, social structure, education, and should he have an own apartment or will rented house does the job?. all these things would be helpful, since many of the elders over here have their daughters it would be good if they could post their expectations here so that I could also see what is the current market trend :)

rakesh,

it is good to treat your marriage as a project - something unique, start and end, and unique results. you should set yourself for success.

set your objectives - want to get married to a girl (& more rqmts here which are achievable).

have a log of wants and would llike - but time box your search.

ie you want a smartha, vadama, pretty, fair, tall, i.t. job, bangalore domiciled, orphan girl - give it 3 months. reduce your rqmts every 2 months till you strike pay dirt.

overall, i think no search should last for more than a year. to that extent, loosen your rules.

ultimately, you may be prepared to marry a girl, non brahmin but sharp, willing to convert to brahmin, no dowry, 50% share of marriage expense, and also willing to support her parents in old age. that to me, would be ideal.

God Bless and good luck.

Hello Kunjuppu,

My requirements are very simple. Any of the brahmin caste will do for me. Someone reasonably beautiful , does not mean that she has to be tall and all, she can be against traditions but again rational. i am open to that at least if they are rational I still have a chance to convince them with rational things itself. I do not have any prejudice like kettai all that horoscope things, because at least as far as the scriptures say the say that now i am eligible to overcome any of the said horoscope issues because the so called Navagrahas also revolve due to the infinite bliss of the supreme so when i am in path to attain the brahma vidya i need not look at the small issues, nor any dowry, job is optional if there well and good otherwise its fine. if i cannot support a family i will not venture to make one. I am not also considering her family background, socio economic backgrounds, Only condition is that marriage should be according to the shodasa samskaras and with couple of other rituals according to my beliefs....and after all "Siva shakta yukto yati bhavati" siva becomes sava without shakti, so basically i think this is a union of siva and shakti, as far as marriage or the girl is concerned.

what is stopping you rakesh? go and seek it out. pleasant hunting :)
