That is the governance philosophy and method Sri Modi institutionalized in gujarat; single window clearance, online application even at village level, direct complaint lodging and resolution within time limits, escalation by the complainant and the officials concerned, direct action on corruption complaints. So the common man has less hazzles if his need or demand is normal and genuine.

Officials at the intermediate and higher levels are warned immediately after the demand or acceptance of money to return the money and do the work. So the culture has spread to most of the low and medium level officials to go as per rules and not to bend rules.

Why dont anyone dig up some hidden dark secret of Swamy to see if he was fit in the 1st place to even lodge a complain against JJ.

Even if he has a dark side, in a democratic country like India, he has every right to lodge compliant against erring individuals. Nobody can stop him.

If people, who have dark side, are barred from filing complaints, then most of the courts will be free of cases.

In truth I am a Modi-supporter, though I am not a "saffron-supporter"; nor do I think Modi will encourage the saffron-walas and their sympathisers to have any say in any matter. I also feel that Modi wants a corruption-free India. But he holds himself as if he is on the side of the saffron, and that is the difficulty.

You will observe that corruption has been endemic in India that is Bharat, and there is recorded evidence for this in Kautilya's arthhasaastra even (written around 300 B.C.!). Not many other countries, boasting about ancient and continuing civilization and glory, are as corrupt as India; Pakistan and Bangla Desh, sibling countries of India are more corrupt as per transparency.org's findings. My own view/conclusion is that our Hindu religion and its caste system has engendered every form of corruption, in India.

So, for Modi or anyone else who is sincere about wiping out corruption in India, it will be necessary to lift up the population from the religious addiction (and I refer here to all religions, not only Hinduism). Unless and until the people come out of the general mindset that one may commit any amount of corruption but, by invoking the blessings of one deity or another, he/she can go completely scot-free, corruption in this country will only further flourish and will not wane.

P.S. I don't know whether even now senior bureaucrats asking their children to be educated in prestigious universities abroad, continues unabated as the most modern form of quid-pro-quo!

Mere FIR or filing of criminal charges is not enough to decide whether one is guilty. He has to be tried and convicted. The govt suggested that cases against elected politicians is fast tracked to be completed in one year. But the judges rebuffed the suggestion that justice cannot be hastened. Seems they have forgotten the saying - justice delayed, is justice denied. Of course elected politicians must be sacked if convicted. What is required is speedy justice. There are certain things which mostly goes in favour of a certain political party especially at the time of Election includes, the so called ‘wave’, volume of cash/kind paid against each vote, freebies offer, Election manifesto, caste factor, nativity, etc

General public who are mostly illiterates decide the Party to rule by exercising their franchise.

The unfortunate thing is there is demand for politicians who have criminal background or who face criminal charges.

How can supreme court brand a person as a criminal unless it delivers the judgment. The court has a system to name and punish criminals. After this observation only modi wanted the judges to expedite cases and deliver verdict within 12 months. The judges backtracked. The sc dilly dallied in the case of ex justice ganguly on molestation charges by an intern. He was forced to resign by media pressure but no charges are filed because the girl left the country and refuses to lodge a complaint.
Conviction rate is quite low in criminal cases. Perhaps the judiciary can give an interim judgment on eligibility based on quick hearing.

I have no idea who those 13 ministers are and their corruptions. I guess it will take some effort to find out. Hence I shall rely on both of your judgement.

I thought it would make sense to place somebody atleast under 'suspension' if there is a criminal investigation going on. Isn't this normally followed?

Latest ‘Aavin Milk Adulteration Scam’ by an AIADMK party person N. Vaidyanathan who owns the tankers/delivery trucks.

The kingpin of the operation, Vaidyanathan, started as a concessionaire of Aavin milk in 1987 and subsequently emerged as a owner of 100s of trucks that supply milk to Aavin. He is alleged to have the backing of several officials who could change policies for his benefit.The initial estimate of the loses have been valued at one per cent of the total ten lakh liters, amounting to 23 lakhs a day. The investigating agencies then traced the owner of the truck to be Vaidyanathan and arrested him in Chennai.

Holy cow!!. Is the minister Moorthy under investigation or what? I can't seem to find info on that. That was quite a bold move by JJ. 23 lakhs/day for 10 years (am I right?).

You ae right Aavin’s loss could run into crores.

It is reported in the news that one of the arrested persons is a close associate of expelled Milk and Dairy Development Minister V.Moorthy. It is further reported that so far nine persons have been arrested by the CB CID in this regard.


P.S: He is not suspended as reported in my posting, but was expelled.

TB is a common terminology but there are divisions and sub sects in it. So the inner fighting is inevitable.

Take the case of Iyer community: There are various sects with different customs and practices. Added to this, allegiance to Mutts - Kanchi and Srigeri.

Regarding Iyengars, though the presiding deity is same one is giving importance to Sanskrit and the other Tamil.

Madhwas are probably the second eleven of Iyengars.

When you have so many divisions, it is quite natural to have in fighting between various sects of a caste and between different castes of the same community, to establish the superiority of the sect or caste, as the case may be.

The unity among TB is primarily to fight the common enemy (acceptable to all groups) and once the fight is over, irrespective of victory or defeat, the groups will disintegrate and go to the original position to create further disintegration.

It is still a mystery the handling of Acharyas' case by JJ Govt. There were better ways to handle it even the case is very strong. Newspapers and magazines had a field day to publish lot of juicy news, whether true or not. The Govt. could have prevented such things. A popular Tamil weekly magazine gave an interesting story about one of the Acharyas, when they were in jail. After release, one of the Acharyas presided over a function organized by the same magazine. Some of my colleagues, who belong to Iyengar community, actually supported JJ's action.

The in fighting among various sub sects and different castes cannot be eliminated in full. We can of course have continuation of unholy alliance.

The question then arises. Why does Modi hold himself as if he is on the side of Saffron? What is preventing him from breaking free if as you say it is the saffron-walas who could stand in his way of realizing a corruption-free India. Is he just using them for vote-catching? There is no reason behind this.

I am just stating what I have noticed.

I can see support for JJ right here in Forum..overlooking even her action of corruption and trying to justify it ..most probably due to affection of being from the same community.So I wonder why SS being a TB did not feel the same affection for JJ and targetted her when he once worshiped her.
