Acc. a news channel, the plane rose to an altitude > 45000 ft. It automatically becomes depressurized at stratospheric heights. And once it climbs above a certain altitude (mainly due to a deliberately mischievous act), it effectively becomes a satellite.

Unless the truth is known, everything else is mere eyewash and speculation. Of course, many countries will use this as a weapon to further subject innocent travelers to even more hassle. Nobody or nothing is even 50% safe. There are always elements at work trying to find a workaround.

The satellite image of the purported Malaysian plane over Andaman Islands.

Going about his work nonchalantly at his office in Gachibowli, this techie probably beat search teams of various countries in finding a probable vital clue related to the missing Malaysian plane.

An IT analyst by profession, Anoop Madhav Yeggina had been scurrying through innumerable images of DigitalGlobe Satellite QB02 over the past few days until he stumbled upon an image which almost took his breath away.

He had found a satellite image of a large aircraft flying very low above the Andaman Islands on March 8 which he believes is the Boeing 777 of Malaysian airlines.

The 29-year-old is among the lakhs of people from across the globe involved in the ‘crowd-sourcing’ project to find the missing plane with more than 200 passengers on board. He had uploaded his “discovery” along with a write-up on the CNN website on Friday, March 14, and since then received more than 16,000 views, followed by many comments from viewers.

“I am confident that the image is that of the missing plane because of many reasons. First giveaway is the fact that the image was captured just above a forest and very close to the Shibpur air strip of Andaman Islands. The air strip is exclusively used by the defence forces with no permission for civilian aircraft in this area. A close look at the image will reveal if it is flying extremely low so much so that the clouds are above it which suggests it was done to avoid detection by radar.

Most importantly, the standard scale measurement and colour of the missing plane matches with that of the plane in the image,” said Mr. Anoop. Wishing for safety of the passengers, he had appealed online to people with technical know-how of aircraft to further investigate the image in order to trace its whereabouts.

The concept of managing or even micro managing can exist only when there are more than one *independent* entity. Regardless of experience of free will we are not independent entities in the universe. So concept of management is inapplicable. The verse of Gita you quoted has far different meaning in a completely different context in my understanding and is also not applicable.

Your larger point about human being taking resposibility for our actions stands in my view even if the above items such as the verse or concept of micromanagement are inapplicable in support of the point.

Dear TKS ji,

I feel the Geeta stanza explains very well..cos we often forget that microcosm mimicks macrocosm.

So technically as long we realized that the only Micro Management that takes place is our "own' effort and nothing "Divine" from an external source..we humans we will be stronger and will be able to face the consequences of our own actions.

Partly over centuries humans "misbehaved" cos they were under the impression that there is an External God who will forgive their sins and finally they will be salvaged by hook or crook.

If only humans were told the "truth" that there is NO EXTERNAL GOD and it us who makes or breaks our own destiny we humans would have been better behaved.

If we read the Bhagavad Geeta from a point of view where we try to identify with Krishna instead of being an Arjuna this verse would finally ring in our mind and we would be better behaved.

A man must elevate himself by his own mind, not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.

It is the concept of an External God that actually confused humanity to think "help" is always around somewhere and giving excuse for people to misbehave as to be saved later on by an external God.

Every religion is equally guilty in creating this confusion.

Dear Renu,

The way good people suffer on earth makes me believe in Karma theory! It is very true that we can NOT change our fate which is

predetermined by our deeds in the previous births. Then why should we pray God / Goddess will be a million dollar question, right?

When there is a headache, we apply some kind of balm that gives a hot and burning sensation. So, even when the headache is still

present, we actually forget it because we believe that the balm will cure the pain. Similarly, when we pray the Almighty during our

difficulties, we get a feeling that some external force is there to help us overcome the hurdle and started working towards the target.

After all mind is the master and it controls the body too!

The next Q will arise! Then why pray the Almighty EVERYDAY! It is to make our mind at ease and be sure that we will be guided in the

right path! :)

Dear RR ji,

There is no such thing as good people suffer or bad people suffer or good enjoy..bad rot in hell.

There are only actions and reactions..its only we humans that call it bad or good.

Praying to an external God is a stress reliever and nothing more...but at the same time we are actually always searching outwards and never tested our own ability.

But if we identify our true Self with the Universal Consciousness and try to live on those lines..that is try to live and breathe Aham Brahmaasmi..we will realize strength we never knew we had and face life challenges with a positive outlook..initially there will be temptation to run back to the External God concept cos we are used to it and it makes us feel more secure.
But once we take the daring plunge to identify ourselves with the Universal Consciousness there is nothing to fear much and we will take actions and steps for any situation and accept the outcome no matter how good or how bad it might be.

Just imagine for 1 second that if you are actually God for 1 day.

Who would you run to when faced with trouble? No one right? We would surely try to solve and handle any situation.

So keeping that thought in mind that "Aham Brahamaasmi" we should be able to face life better.

I am not asking anyone to imagine they are God..we are humans after all but there is no harm relying fully on ourselves.

The techie's motives seem a bit dicey. Google Earth would have been the first to catch anything fishy. The picture seems photoshopped, and if it is not, it is something very scary.

Dr Renu

There is no such thing as microcosm or macrocosm beyond what human mind can make up - it is all arbitrary.
In fact there is no notion of management of anyone except in a setting invented by human beings as part of organized civilization.

Religions that talk about sins and salvation regardless of intent has had he side effect of causing long term damage - I tend to agree with you if that was your point.

B.Gita has nothing to do with any religion including Hinduism. Some religious traditions may have borrowed the teachings but the teaching themselves do not have anything to do with religion.

One does not need B.Gita or any teaching or any God - internal or external to understand that one must take 100% responsibility for our actions to lead a 'successful life' regardless of its definition.

Steven Covey explains the notion of responsibility extremely well without resorting to any God or religious scriptures.

The only wisdom that B.Gita adds to this common sense wisdom (about taking 100% responsibility) is that results are determined by other factors outside a person's control and hence one cannot take ownership to the end results.

The model about God - external or whatever and God is here to forgive are just are ways for ordinary people to 'move on' (and continue to assume 100% responsibility going forward which is often not emphasized) . This simple model is powerful and hence I will not knock the idea. There was a quote about an uneducated woman regarding her knowledge Tulsi Ramayan (from a reference Sri Vgane cited in another thread) and it is far more powerful for ordinary living than many teachings by so caled highly educated people. If people want to pray to an external God for their peace of mind and beliefs let them.

Religion addresses needs for security and desires which are perfectly valid pursuits.

Many profound verses in B.Gita consistent and deriving its teaching from Upanishad is for growth beyond the needs of security and desires. In that sense the verse quoted has no application for any of ordinary pursuits. Besides the notion of management or lack of management is meaningless in the context of discussion of an almighty if there was one.

If people need to be 100% responsible for their actions they can understand that by examining results in their own life and those of others. There is no reason to bring God or any scriptures for such a simple teaching which Covey has done extremely well in my view without resorting to faith.

In general except for some very basic axiomatic items, truth and understanding stands first. Scriptures that are taught well aligns with that understanding.
This is counter to citing a scripture and then say hence it must be right - which requires a faith aspects not needed in my view.

Dear Renu,

You are writing in high level and I am writing what I observe! I have seen a lady of selfish nature who wanted to get benefit from

each and everyone in her family circle, including 'lavuttifying' some good sarees from her nieces! You know what? One fine morning,

she had a bath and breakfast; soon had a massive heart attach and pooooooooofff ......... :rip:. What a nice death!!

One of my aunts who has been in medical service nearly for 45 years, very kind to her patients in the cancer ward, extremely helpful

to the near and dear ones on her side and uncle's side, is bedridden for the past 6 years! Suffering hell on earth! What do you say for this??

It is ONLY because of the sins she had committed in her previous births; as far as we all know, she has been an epitome of LOVE!

Dear RR ji,

I am not writing any high level yaar..I am also writing what I observe.

Its just that we are wired to think that we suffer becos of something or the other done in the past.

Anyone of us can fall sick anytime or be faced with adversity.I try not to link it with bad or good karma balance etc..I rather look at it as experiences in life.

None of us really know what we did or did not do in the previous birth...we tend to think somethings are categorized as suffering cos we have created a gold standard in our mind that happiness means this and suffering means that. But are we right?? What exactly is happiness or suffering?

Did you ask your aunt if she felt she is suffering?

I am sure if you ask her she will reply No..its we who feel sad for others cos we would not like to imagine ourselves in that situation hence we think its suffering.

So when you see your aunt next..ask her if she feels she is suffering.Dont be surprised that she might not feel she is suffering.

Suffering is a state of mind..one can be able bodied..have everything in the world in terms of the man made happiness scale and yet be "suffering". We only suffer if we let ourselves suffer.

Dear Renu,

My aunt is a very strong minded person and was telling earlier that she is fine! But for the past 4 years, she asks why she is not yet

taken away by God, to relieve her of all her pains. How else will she feel when she expects somebody's help for each and everything?

It is a vegetable life of a person who is only able to talk to others! Any kind of soothing cream applied on her body does not help relieve

the itching. Renu, really she is suffering hell on earth. She too points out to her karma in previous births for her suffering.

Dear RR ji,

The next time you meet her tell her not to blame her Karma..try to find ways and means to deviate her mind from her present situation.
She is an intelligent person whose brain can still function and contribute.

Imagine if Stephen Hawking blamed Karma and did not become Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge?

FYI, Renu! My aunt is 90+ and does not lament always. She listens to music and discourses throughout the day!

We are after all humans, right? Once in a while she talks about her karma. That is it!

Dear RR ji,

Thank you for clarifying. Its clear now that she is not lamenting her condition cos you made it sound that she is leading a suffering life. Now its clear that she is a well balanced person who is still in control of her mind and life.

Anyway a 90 year old too can contribute in anyway she likes.

Out here we encourage bed ridden older people who can move their fingers to start using lap tops and contribute their thoughts and experiences in life in online blogs. No one should stop contributing in any way they can.

Dear Renu,
Suffering is suffering whether expressed or not by the one who suffers! :ballchain:
Humans can only camouflage it by diverting the mind to something else! :peace:

Dear RR ji,

Camouflage is like anesthesia ..it only masks the pain but does not cure the root cause of the pain.

The human mind is built for self preservation..the mind and body will somehow find a way to alleviate suffering.

So no one can actually camouflage anything for too long..eventually body adapts and looks for alternatives to make one own self happy.

As the saying goes..when there is a will there is a way.

So technically all types of suffering or even happiness for that matter are "transient" hence we are advised to treat with Happiness and Sorrow alike.

Israel is strengthening its defences...They are ready to shift to battle gear based on the threat from a lurking enemy (In the form of Malaysian Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim who is supporting Palestine) ..That is how the defense preparedness of a country has to be...

Israel Prepares for Possible Attack by Hijacked Malaysian Plane

Dear Shri Gane,

No country will like to have a neighbour like Israel; it is a paranoid schizophrenia-afflicted country, with a delusion of grandeur about itself. But the whole world (or at least the more advanced countries) know that Israel is a balloon pumped up by US and nothing more. Religious fundamentalism of the Judaic extreme is slowly but surely taking shape within Israel and so is a vast, disgruntled section of the Israeli population comprising the non-european jews who are cursed to a life very much like that of the "Shudras" in the traditional hindu society. America under Obama (with Muslim lineage) is seen slowly distancing itself from the role of "parent & guardian" of Israel. In the mid-term future this country will either implode or disintegrate. That is my view.

The MH-370 flight has most probably sunk in the straits of Malacca or somewhere around that region and the delay in searching has made all traces disappear. If Israel is getting battle-ready for the imaginary MH-370 "attack" then it is a classic example of paranoia and nothing else. That is the last thing any ordinarily intelligent country will like to go public on, even if it prepares - but secretly!!

Dear Sangom,

I beg to disagree. Israeli Arabs were asked about their citizenship preferences and all of them said they would NOT want to be a citizen of any Arab country. Israeli Bedouin occupy high roles in the defense force, and the Druze are given special status.

Israel might be treating the Ethiopian Jews badly, but certainly not its own Arab citizens.
