Malaysia is immature in it's response. China's silence is mysterious. And for the US, any disappearance is a "terrorism" incident. Coming to think of it, 9/11 was not as bad as they wanted the world to believe. In Baghdad alone, 7000 people were killed last Ramadan. Egypt, Syria, Palestine..monumental tragedies which dwarf 9/11. Whenever I enter Penn station, they give dire warnings like "see something, say something" and color-coded alerts. It is sad that we are still not able to shake off 9/11 and using these great tragedies to keep the memory of 9/11 fresh forever.

I strongly beleive 9/11 was done by the US govt itself. What do you think?

I don't think any civilized country will brutally turn upon its own citizens. Conspiracy theories abound, and they are just theories.

However, it is a fact that the States has used 9/11 (it was indeed a tragedy but the US made too big a deal of it, there are much greater tragedies that have happened and are happening..think Darfur) as a stick to control its own citizens into submission. Some of the restrictions are being eased now, I didn't see millimeter wave scanners last time I flew.

But this incident will help the struggling ruling politicians in the US create another fear complex, and ignore the real and pressing issues. Diverting attention from serious issues helps keep politicians in power.

Malaysian authorities now say that the plane was hijacked. If so what happened to the plane? To me it seems like they have not been able to find any clues and hence to public they say this. The malaysian PM is about to hold a press conference. Let us wait for his statement

It is now officially confirmed that the communication system was deliberately switched off. So commonsense says it is very unlikely that the plane crashed. I do not think from the indications available, we can say that any secret negotiations are taking place assuming it is an hijack.

Bangladesh joins search operation for missing Malaysian plane - News Today

Dhaka: Bangladesh today joined international search operations to trace the missing Malaysian plane by deploying frigates and aircraft in its exclusive economic zone in the Bay of Bengal.

In line with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directive, two patrol aircraft and two navy frigates - BNS Omar Faruque and BNS Bangabandhu - have joined the search, primarily to look for the aircraft in Bangladesh's exclusive economic zone, a defence ministry spokesman told PTI.

'Democracy is dead': 'Fanatical' missing airliner pilot

An image has emerged of the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet wearing a T-shirt with a 'Democracy is Dead' slogan as it has been revealed he could have hijacked the plane in an anti-government protest.

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a father-of-three, was said to be a 'fanatical' supporter of the country's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim - jailed for homosexuality just hours before the jet disappeared.

It has also been revealed that the pilot's wife and three children moved out of the family home the day before the plane went missing.

It comes as FBI investigators say the disappearance of MH370 may have been ‘an act of piracy’ and that the possibility that its hundreds of passengers are being held at an unknown location has not been ruled out.

Captian Shah was an ‘obsessive’ supporter of Ibrahim. And hours before the doomed flight left Kuala Lumpur it is understood 53-year-old Shah attended a controversial trial in which Ibrahim was jailed for five years.

Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges.

Police sources have confirmed that Shah was a vocal political activist – and fear that the court decision left him profoundly upset. It was against this background that, seven hours later, he took control of a Boeing 777-200 bound for Beijing and carrying 238 passengers and crew.

Yesterday, Malaysian police searched his house in the upmarket Kuala Lumpur suburb of Shah Alam, where he had installed a home-made flight simulator. But this newspaper can reveal that investigators had already spent much of last week examining two laptops removed from Shah’s home. One is believed to contain data from the simulator

Confirming rising fears, Malaysia’s prime minister Najib Razak announced yesterday that MH370 was deliberately steered off course after its communication system was switched off. He said it headed west over the Malaysian seaboard and could have flown for another seven hours on its fuel reserves.

It is not yet clear where the plane was taken, however Mr Razak said the most recent satellite data suggests the plane could have been making for one of two possible flight corridors. The search, involving 43 ships and 58 aircraft from 15 countries, switched from the South China Sea to the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.

In another dramatic twist early Sunday Indian officials however, said the search was on hold until 'fresh search areas' were defined by Malaysia. It is unclear what the reason was for the delay.

Data showing the number of plausible runways where the plane could have touched down - which need to be at least 5,000ft - offer a baffling number of potential locations

Is it possible to actually hack into the mechanism of plane and send "false location" satellite signals to confuse the authorities of the exact location of the plane?

That is for example if the plane is flying somewhere in between Papua New Guinea and Sulawesi islands but send "fake satellite signals" as if the plane had crossed the Indian Ocean?

Is this possible if a person is able to hack into the satellite signal system on board?

Very much possible..Even remotely by a mobile phone..It may be a case of cyber hacking

I was thinking of this a couple of days ago and wondering if false satellite signals were "created" to send the whole world on a wild goose chase totally in the opposite direction.

It is high time the authorities extend their search right up the Papua New Guinea..there are a lot of unknown islands near that area.

The simulator should not be a big deal cos I think many people like to play games that simulate a car race or airplane or bike race.
So may be thats just his hobby.

Madam,

It is a real flight simulator not the toy simulator used by children while playing with airplanes or bike race
