Points to ponder!

Did you work out with the solution given

and get L.H.S = R.H.S???
I tried the first one (with the suspicion if you will) and found it to be 6.54
The second one I tried now and it is coming close; 6.91 and 6.98
We can argue its not the same, but I commend him for coming with nos quite close.
I would have shouted from the roof top if I had achieved that.

Now... Let us move away from the mouse and click, to a point to ponder!

Even if a member deletes a post on second thoughts, it still appears in another post where it is quoted! But he is left with no
way to delete it!! We can find one in this thread too! :ranger:
I deleted one because, I thought the expected humour in it didnt quite make it.

You know, I feel all posts must be deleted because most of the time we say things that need not be preserved eternally. I also feel nothing need be deleted because once said, so be it.

Once your letter has reached the hands of the addressee, there is no way to recall the same, without the consent of the addressee, isnt it?

When someone's post appears as a quoted text of another's message, that means it is an effective zerox copy of the original. Destruction of original does not lead to elimination of zerox copies.

I receive email notifications of the posts in the threads that I have subscribed. Some times (mostly during paper wars occurring at ungodly hours as per IST) I find that there is no trace of any message I received in email reflected on the message board next day morning.

Its a nice feeling to preserve some of them. May be we can all pool in and make a blog like the
unofficial 'undocumented features' that gets published :)

Experience gaining is yet again an exercise. All do not gain experience
very easily. One has to gather information through his/her senses; yet he/she
has to ultimately attempt to learn it by doing and repeating.
First of all, He/She observes very closely and listens carefully from others.
Then he/she attempts in trying doing things on their own. This stimulates interest
in them and produces motivation to self discover.

Dear ozone,
Both solutions I provided are correct.

1. 2+2+4/3+16/13 = 2*2*4/3*16/13 = 256/39 = 6.5641
2. 3+3/2+9/7+81/67 = 3*3/2*9/7*81/67 = 6561/938 = 6.9947

I will detail the methodology soon!

For now, I can give a clue: Recursion!

Notice that the solution I provided not only satisfies a+b+c+d = abcd, but also a+b = ab and a+b+c = abc!

I wish I could change the title to "From Adam to Zebra.."

but the hitch is that I have added the words "through all

men and Gods" thereby disqualifying the good and lovley

striped zebra.

May be I should have made it "From apple to zebra"

but then Sheena and others can't be featured in it.

If you had consulted me /asked my opinion, I would

have suggested a better thread for the "Oscar award!"

P.S.

Oscar => starry
:)

Yes!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!!!!

Points to ponder

"Optimism" is a kind of heart stimulant i.e. a drug which increases
the physical and mental activities besides alertness. If a person
possess this quality, he is not to worry about in his life at it arouses
interest and excitement. Further, if one has this, there may not be
any need to consult someone for a psychoanalysis. For example,
we have Politicians. No politician suffer from "opprobrium".

(When Oscar Wilde was about to be charged a large fees for an operation)

"Ah, well then, I suppose that I shall have to die beyond my means". :pout:

And out of the bronze of the image of
'The sorrow that endureth for ever, "
he fashioned an image of
"The Pleasure that abideth for a moment".

Oscar Wilde.

# 1. Old is Gold!

The tear glands dry up in the elderly people. We are asked to use eye drops (tear drops) which are quite costly.

I was surprised when my brother suggested that kajal /eyetex/ "kann mai" have the same effect of lubricating the eye balls.

That may be the secret the elders of the past never needed to use artificial tear drops!

In the olden time the kajal was home made with Castor-oil lamp and clean home-made butter.

We are losing the secrets of the money-saving and healthy, fresh, home-products in an attempt to make life easier.

But we end up doing exactly the opposite!

# 2. Old is Gold!

The youngsters of today use eye-liners which outline their eyes and can be actually peeled off when not needed.

The result is that the eye lashes which used to be luxurious, long and curved are becoming scantier and thinner.

So they resort to artificial eyelashes which do even more damage to the natural eye lashes- what with the fixing and removing of them.

The butter in the kajal lubricated the eye balls, nourished the eyelashes and the regular of kajal made the eyes become / appear larger and more attractive in an all natural way.

Certain things are left unsaid, especially if they do not violate the forum rules but saying it could.

Awaiting the methodology as promised by you!

Ref: #1741: Shri NB(?) Philosophically speaking, optimist may often meet disappointment; pessimist is going to feel elated. Practically, we can give the reverse advice to our neighbours!
