Is the solution given by K.B correct then?

Actually if you closely analyse the problem, you will find that you need prime numbers like 13, 59, 67, 83 etc. to solve the number and the sum total of digits of the answer will always be "9" (for eg. 7.47 = 7 + 4 + 7 etc.) as digit 3 is involved both in addition and multiplication.Fraction is a must because the product of the first number of whole number of 1 x 2 x 3 x 4 itself is beyond their sum, so fractions or decimals are a must to rein in the product going overboard. For eg. 0.5 + 0.5 = 1.0, but 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25 - notice how drastically the decimal point (or a fraction) can reduce the value.

Why am I seeing * s everywhere??? :dizzy:

Despite the stinginess of the readers (no offence meant :nono:)

10 out or 20 threads in G.D have been bestowed with 5 (*)s!!!

An all time record???

If all the threads which deserve 5(*)s were given them...

what will be the score ???
:faint:

Is too much shoulder rubbing, too much interaction :tea:

always destined to be short lived???:noidea:

When we :boink: others should we not be ready to be :caked: too?

Who gives the stars? How does a thread get star rated? What does 5* rating do to the thread? Any pointers?

You will find on top of every page, the option to rate the thread.

If you click there you will have more options to bestow anything

from 1 * to 5 * (stars), rating the thread according to your wish.

Any SINGLE (good) friend, admirer, adorer can bestow it on any

thread ...irrespective of the contents, at times!

People playing dual role can rate the alter ego's thread and also get

away with it!

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book.
Books are well written or badly written.:typing:

There is only one thing in this world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.:high5:

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it.:moony:

Oscar Wilde.

When Prof. Nara Sir asked the same question to me, I gave the explanation. He bestowed five stars to three of my threads in the

literature section, since the other two already had!! Any generous friends for Mrs. VR??

Note: In another forum in which I write, the number of persons giving five stars is also shown! :thumb:

I just did that for 'Points to Ponder" - but the auto response says that I have already voted for it - and I cannot change my vote now. But I had not done anything in the past to vote or abstain from posting. How is this possible?

I tried to jack up the rating of "From Adam.....".. the auto response says that my voting has been recorded. But I do not see any stars in the thread. What am I to do further?

I need only sincere friends...not the boosting, catapulting type.

That is why I have ~ 40 forum friends,

since I apply NO pressure on them

either directly or indirectly. Right folks??? :)

Friends are JUST friends .. not promoters

...including the sibling friend !!!

My firm belief is that
It is far better to DESERVE something and NOT get it than
GET something and NOT deserve it.
Credits should be EARNED and not bestowed out of generosity.
I do not believe in begging, borrowing or pressurizing people.

I do not believe in begging, borrowing or pressurizing people.

Very true. But many-a-times, the recipient does not know the methodology to express gratitude, except gushing out "thanks a million.... etc." To factually inform the alternate modes of expression is not begging, borrowing, pressurizing or cajoling.

Sorry, Sir! I really don't know!! I have no idea as to who gave the first two five stars to my threads.

Since Prof Sir declared, I knew about the other three threads. :ranger:

I may have to conclude (at least temporarily) that rating is accidental... the reader erroneously/unintentionally places the cursor on the "Rate this thread" tab, and nature takes its own course. He unknowingly presses the tab or drags the cursor elsewhere.

I am HAPPY that your votes were invalid. :)

My conscience can CONTINUE to be clear!

Digging at someone somewhere... but WHY???

Your clear conscience does not explain how the system works. I want to know how the system functions. Keeping your conscience clear, please tell, how the threads are rated; how one votes; how many votes count, how to poke spikes in other's rating (just kidding :) etc.

There are at least seven different ways a thread starter can behave, once the thread has been launched.

So I am giving a mental exercise and those who have fertile imagination can fill in the blanks!

They can either keep the answers to themselves or present them here for the benefit of the rest of the population. :)

1. I - - - - - .
2. I - - - - - .
3. I - - - - - .
4. I - - - - - - - .
5. I - - - - - - - -.
6. I - - - - - - - - .
7. I - - - - - - - - - - .

Dear Sir,

Is your zodiac symbol Gemini? Your imagination is great.

Can anyone click erroneously / unintentionally thrice consecutively?

Regards............... :)

No. You commit the unintentional act once only. The second time you check it. The third time it is confirmation. Dont we all ask the other party, "are you sure"...? How can anyone reply with a straight face unless the act was committed (even if it was unintentional/ erroneous) went without checking and or re-confirming it?

Regards

Yes, yes, yes.
If the computer is sluggish, and the user is hyperactive and keeps pressing the mouse button either anticipating the next press or impatient and keeps pressing for the system to respond.

Dear Sir,

I am not talking about consecutive clicks in the SAME place!! They are in three different places.

OK... Let us leave the rest to the imagination of members!

Regards............ :)
