Rabri Devi wants "good looking" and "homely" girls as her daughters in law. News
So those eligible can apply. She has two sons to be married and both are ministers in Nitish cabinet in Bihar carrying heavy responsibilities and CHARGES.
In America, when you want to pay tribute to a girl, never ever even by mistake say to a girl that she is homely. She will take it as an offence indicative of bad look.

Even here in Msia..homely means not so good looking.
Its usually used for girls who look presentable..decent ..round face sweet looks..not having a hot sexy slim body..not tall.

But even in India girls whom they call homely are not really considered beautiful.

On the one hand, acute water scarcity, on the other hand enormous water wastage
Three days have passed since the water pipeline near Iyya Mudali Street at Chintadripet burst open, which led to a loss of wastage of thousands of litres of water, but the authorities have not attended to the problem yet. The old water pipeline incurred damages at many spots, from where the water gushes out for hours. The residents are collecting the water for their daily use.
“We had to stay without water for two-three days as we will not receive water from the pipeline. We do not want the water to get wasted and are collecting it to use it in the times of need,” said V. Jawahar, a resident.
Most of the pipe lies are very old and some get damaged during repairs to sewer lines and these are not replaced then and there. This is a sort of a perennial complaint in the city water supply. Old pipe lines beyond repair must be replaced immediately. Media should play an important role in reminding the officers concerned.

Chennai: Pipeline leak results in huge waste of water
Residents complain that the water wastage due to this is unacceptable when the city is suffering from an acute water crisis.
In most metros, there are complaints regarding water and power.

Either lack of it or wastage.

In delhi , street lights burning during day or electrical power cables overground to temporarily fix damaged underground cables. I have one 400 feet thick cable

running from elec main board to distribution point far away. The cable is not replaced with underground one for one month.

Water supply is just one hour early morning 5.30AM. If you happen to get up late, well bad luck. Wait for next day.Plus point-water is free in case you happen to fill

your tanks every day in that hour. There is also 50% electric subsidy if you consume less than 400 units per month.

Kejrival socialism is good for me.

The hawkers menace in North Chenai is as old as North Chennai itself. Several attempts have been made to clear the area of encroachments and the effect seems to last for a few months only and the encroachments reappear. It is the tardy dealing by the police and corporation officials and the local political pressures that are responsible for the situation.

London is in the news nowadays for wrong reasons. The great fire that devastated a high rise building resulting in the death of seven and injuring about 40 is the latest calamity that London faced after the terrorist attack near London bridge the other day. the reason for the fire is said to be the poor quality or maintenance of the fire fighting equipment. The cause of fire is not immediately known. Only recently we had a massive fire in Chennai Silks in Usman Road, T. Nagar. Negligence, improper maintenance or lack of adequate fire safe guards seem to be the cause for fire in high rise buildings.

n a significant step towards tracing black money stashed in foreign bank accounts, Switzerland on Friday has ratified automatic exchange of financial account information with India
Switzerland’s ratification has emerged as a result of hectic parleys between India and Switzerland for introduction of the AEOI (Automatic Exchange of Information) on tax matters under the guidance of G20, OECD and other global organisations.
My own surmise is that the hoarders have given sufficient time by the past and present governments and they being more shrewd and smart would have found other ways and means of stashing their money in banks other than in Switzerland. Any delay in such matters is not going to help the government but only the hoarders.

Plastics have been a hazard that have been threatening the environment . But with the discovery of the wax worm, it is now established that polyethylene could be decomposed in a reasonably short time. This definitely is a great contribution to the cause of safe environment. The technology to dispose of the plastic materials will go a long way in improving the environment.
Polyethylene is one of the world's most resistant forms of plastic which can take decades to decompose.
However, scientists have found that the wax worm ‘Galleria mellonella’ Can decompose the material in hours.

The heinous act was committed in 1993 and the final judgement comes in 2017, twenty four years later. JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED. Why should judgement on terror cases take so long? is there no way of pronouncing judgement within two years of the crime? Some special courts should be constituted in such cases of terror atrocities to expedite judgement.
On March 12, 1993, 12 bombs exploded at several locations in what was then Bombay, killing 257 people and injuring 713 while destroying property worth Rs 27 crore.
Twenty-four years later, a special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Protection) Act (TADA) court on Friday convicted Abu Salem Abdul Qayoom Ansari, Mustafa Ahmed Umar Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, Firoz Abdul Rashid Khan, Taher Mohd. Merchant alias Taher Taklya, Karimulla Osan Khan alias Karimullah Hussain Habib Shaikh and Riyaz Ahmed Siddiqui under sections of the TADA, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Arms Act and the Explosives Act for perpetrating the blasts. It, however, acquitted Abdul Qayum Karim Shaikh of all charges.
Pronouncing the judgment in a courtroom packed with lawyers and reporters, special Judge G.A. Sanap acquitted all the seven of waging war against the Government of India under section 121 of the IPC. It, however, held that all those convicted wanted to take revenge for the Babri Masjid demolition and Bombay riots and conspired to kill Hindus and Hindu leaders.
Abu Salem and five others were convicted for terrorist acts and possession of certain unauthorised arms. They were also convicted for criminal conspiracy.
The court said Abdul Qayoom Karim Shaikh "is not guilty", as the prosecution had failed to prove the charge of conspiracy and the evidence to hold him is not credible.

EAT YOUR BREAD AND USE IT FOR CLEANING UP TOO
All one needs to do is cut the crusts off a slice of bread and roll it into a compact ball, says the magazine. It is best for erasing any annoying smudges on the walls or kitchen cupboards. Slices of bread work well at mopping up any liquid spillages and for cleaning out coffee grinders, or even pick up shards of glass.
You can even use your bread ball to dust with or polish pictures to a high shine.
Adding bread to cooking can remove the burnt flavor from your food if you've overcooked it, and it can also help thicken soups and sauces.

HOW MUCH WATER TO DRINK?

Now a medical research done by Mayo clinic in Minnesota reveals that men should be drinking 13 cups of water daily while women should consume nine.

But the study suggests that the body’s requirement for water is different from individual to individual. They have presented a simple formula that can help one understand how much water they should drink.

The formula for how much water you should be drinking:

Step 1: Take your weight (in lbs) and divide it by 2.2.

Step 2: Multiply that number by your age.

Step 3: Divide that sum by 28.3.

Step 4: Your total is how many ounces of water you should drink each day.

Divide that number by eight to see your result in cups.

The study, however, adds that for people who exercise regularly will need to drink more water to replenish the liquids that leave the system.

The American College of Sports Medicine reports that you should drink an extra 12 ounces of water for every 30 minutes of exercise.

While eating food with high water content such as cucumber or watermelon may help flush out toxins form the body, eating salty food can do the exact opposite and dehydrate the system.

MY SOLUTION: DRINK AS MUCH AS YOU NEED< NOT MORE< NOT LESS> YOUR SYSTEM IS THE BEST JUDGE IN THIS MATTER

ACUPUNCTURE THAT PUNCTURES PAIN
Acupuncture may be a safe and effective alternative to painkillers in providing long-term relief for patients with severe pain, a study suggests.
Researchers from RMIT University in Australia conducted a trial in the emergency departments of four hospitals involving about 528 patients with acute low back pain, migraine or ankle sprains. Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine.
"Our study has shown acupuncture is a viable alternative, and would be especially beneficial for patients who are unable to take standard pain-relieving drugs because of other medical conditions," said Marc Cohen, professor at RMIT University.
While acupuncture is widely used by practitioners in community settings for treating pain, it is rarely used in hospital emergency departments, researchers said. "We need to determine the conditions that are most responsive to acupuncture, the feasibility of including the treatment in emergency settings, and the training needed for doctors or allied health personnel," Cohen said.
The study was published in the Medical Journal of Australia.

11 Engineering Colleges in the State to close down this year because of poor patronage
The declining interest in engineering courses and poor enrolment of students in the last few years have forced 11 engineering colleges to close down from this academic year.
“The poor patronage of students could be one of the reasons. These colleges will not have admissions in the first year. But the second, third and fourth-year students will continue their studies in these colleges,” higher education secretary Sunil Paliwal told reporters here on Tuesday.
Totally, 527 engineering colleges and 53 B Arch colleges will take part in the engineering counselling this year. “Many engineering colleges have also opted to close their circuit branches, like IT, ECE because of poor enrollment,” he said

Tamil Nadu seems to be in the forefront of misuse of Schemes meant for the benefit of the poor
Many private hospitals collect money from patients to treat them under the Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme of Tamil Nadu (CMCHISTN), which is against the scheme. However, there is no mechanism for the patients to ventilate their grievance and get it redressed, the Madurai bench of the Madras high court was told on Wednesday.
