Dear Renu,

But even then I don't think anyone will have the courage (?!) to keep the God picture, which according to some is just

an art piece, on a trash can!! :nono:

Dear RR ji,

You just did!LOL

The idea of placing a pic of God in a garbage can came to your mind! LOL

Ha Ha Ha . Shout from rooftop Rji to be accepted as traditional

you will get acceptance from this forum as one.lol

Dear Krish ji,

I know I am..so why shout from roof top?

To me you are also very traditional.

I have one pic of lord venkateswara embossed on a thin tin 9inhesby 12 inches sheet discarded and left outside on a window sill.

I use it for hiding my house keys when I go out on short errand. He has been protector of my home except one occassion he let me down

many villages have statues of indigenous Gods for protection of village . they stand guard at entrance of village and are worshipped

Gods pictures are many times painted on walls in delhi to dissuade passers by from relieving themselves on the wall .

Gods pictures often get misused by us for various purposes.

we are a very selfish and confused lot

we do not leave God alone

We need Him more than He wanting us

Dr. Renuka , normally explains matters from medical/ point of view in a more practical way when she has explained about the Muslim Male, she has deeply analysed the Muslim"s Prayer & the necessity of real, un-adulterated mind & Body before offering prayers. I would like to remind our readers about our Grand mothers & also Grand Fathers , the way they had their normal/ routine Aacharam, without hindering the normal , simple activities in the house-hold where Men & women of all age groups resided. They never made Fuzz about any thing , let alone praying to God in the stipulated place duly adjusting to the other activities continue to be in full swing, because they were really very affectionate to all including their neighbours , duly inter-acting as a society , with pleasing words. What I want to drive at, is that we Tamil Brahmins perform their godly duties , not only for their prosperity , but more for the entire family , including the Society by uttering the FAMOUS sentence of Hindu ;s pride " Sarve Janah sukhino bhavanthu "
This topic should not amount to Splitting the Hair vertically. Despite numerous opinions of to-day, things are going on & on in every house hold so well & that is why we are happy mentally despite atrocities all over.
Else where I have amply dealt with Male's Purity of Body & Mind.
One more thing about finding God;s pictures strewn all over--even in dust-bins ? Let me tell you one thing. In the absence of a laid down procedure for proper/ honourable disposal of Thulasi Bundles & flowers removed from Temple Gods including Lord Venkateswara, finds the OUTLET in the nearest Dust Bins . Tolerence is the key word to be followed , esp. these days Les, we cannot have real peace of mind. It is not worth to get agitated on everything when you are not at all, concerned. I want to conclude :- After the Ramayana / Mahabharatha , Lord RAMA 7 Lord Krisna left this Karma Bhoomi & handed over the authority to Kali-Purush , to ensure deterioration of the Dharma slowly & steadily so that Pralaya is attained at the end of Kaliyuga & Kalki avatar coul take place for ordering Brahma to Create new world.
You may wonder , can all these be believed ? For those who have faith in our profound Vedas/ shastras , since everyting have so far been proved to be truly happening, why not have continued FAITH / Kaliyuga has just completed onle 5500 years & a few lakh years have to pass by. But so soon we read about RAPES, Murders & what all things , one will shudder

... I am not at any different level of thinking...I am just traditional!LOL
Dear Renu,

I 'consider' myself traditional. How can two persons of diametrically opposite thoughts be traditional!

Oh! Got it!! Our traditional thoughts are real cool! :becky:

both of these ladies are playing double roles I strongly suspect

one is a tradionalist in modern garb , the other has a modern mind in traditonalist attire. they are equally unpredictable . their different avathars are exhibited based on

need of the threads.lol

Dear RR ji,

Tradition is made up of the evident and the subtle.

You follow the evident tradition and I follow the subtle tradition.

Together we are Purnam!

Dear Krish ji,

RR ji and I are as evident and as subtle as we can be.

There is no double role.

In life everything is actually only One. Two is One occurring Twice hence it appears double to you.

It's merely a projection of your mind..when we depend on projections of the mind everything seems unpredictable.

I am being Psyched into believing that it is a game played by my mind.only you have this capacity.lol

once years back actually I started seeing double images , my optician referred me to an eye hospital . after elaborate tests , I ended up with huge pokes of B injections

{ i still wince in pain when I think of them] at a very inappropriate place.lol

now what is the cure for images of the mind?. you might have some imaginative stories .

you might as well accept my double role theory'

it is easy to accept

we are all fans of tamil and hindi films . even rajani in tamil films and hemamalini in seetha and geetha have essayed these roles

it is only a compliment to youboth.lol

Dear Krish Sir,

I am not traditional to the CORE! I hate too much of 'madi' without basic cleanliness, the widows being treated as a

separate category etc. OK? I have umpteen times forced widow relatives to offer me kumkum, when they hesitate,

fearing tradition! I have a bath and prayer before attending any death in our circle of relatives / friends.

But, I have a set of good rules to be followed as a traditionalist! :)

Seeing double images is one of the symptoms of developing cataract in the eyes. Even one eye can see two images! :fear:

Hope you read this in the link I gave in another thread, in which you actively participate! :)

Dear RR ji,

We are both so alike..even long long back I got mad with some of my mothers friends during a bhajan for Sumangali Pooja because a Chinese lady divorcee who attended the bhajan wanted KumKum and the Sumangalis did not give her!

When I attended one of my male cousins engagement a few years back we did not have enough girls to carry trays so I approached my aunts to help out..my aunts were widows and they said they were scared to carry trays because the girl's side might blame them if anything were to go wrong. My male cousin also wanted my aunts to help but my aunts were not willing.

See how alike we are!

So that means both of us are traditional.

You had diplopia..there are many causes for diplopia(double vision) good you got yourself treated.

Images in the mind are the product of our conscious and subconscious mind.

For example..the conscious mind hears the voice of a female next door and imagines her to be very beautiful.

The subconscious mind works on the sound heard and produces an image in the mind.

The image is always something we had seen before with slight modification..then we can hear background music and break into a song in our mind..all totally coming to life in the dream state.

Then we fall in the deep sleep state and for a while the mind is shut.

We then wake up in the morning and remember the dream..the desire grows and grows to see the female next door..and then..and then...(fill in the blanks yourself!LOL)

Dear Renu,

I hate a few other practices like cleaning the floor with hands, using cowdung and water, a
fter each batch of people eat,

during functions! In our village nobody wants to change this habit and provide a separate broom for cleaning! :pout:

Dear RR ji,

A friend of mine recently told me that he knows a very traditional person who had bought an apartment out here and wanted to follow the full ritual of bringing a cow to the apartment for the house warming ceremony.

Since the apartment was on the 2nd floor he made the cow walk up the stairs and the everything went well.

But when the cow was going down the stairs it somehow lost control and lost its footing and literally ran down the stairs out of control and dashed right against the wall in front and died on the spot because of head injury!

He had to pay compensation to the owner of the cow and was totally freaked out that he had indirectly caused the death of a cow!

I have seen cows climb upstairs but they do have a problem coming down stairs..even once in my college one cow climbed upstairs and also came full speed dashing down but somehow there was enough space for it to regain balance.

renuka ji

you in malaysia are outdated people

these days widows [ and widowers also] in south atleast in metros make merry and enjoy a free life style without much stigma and not having to put up with any restrictions imposed by

menfolk[husband being not there]. they are mobile , go to all social functions ,challenge the existing order in society .they go on trips to exotic places arranged by travel

companies and are seen in music concerts ,cinema halls and malls. they stand up for their rights and want to be counted in their own right .

in matrimonial sites , they are visible.Iif they are young , they are looking for guys similar in status for second innings. if they in early thirties or forties they are looking for

companionship in relationships.

they are more forward and liberal in their thinking than housewives

Dear Renu,

Later on your friend might have run to some astrologer to find out the parihAram for killing a cow!

In Sing. Chennai people are more practical. They bring the cow inside the compound and do the pooja.

no restriction generally imposed on men..but there r some guidelines....dont eat or drink water b4 u do prayer bcoz u may get the urge to urinate or defecate ...it is advised to b on empty stomach when u pooja...homam. or visiting a temple...this makes one to clean himself again and again disrupting the purpose. but nothing has been said after physical intercourse since it is being generally done in the night..and the next day v start afresh after bath..this is what v follow generally

Since nearly 40% of the Indian population are diabetics, doctors advise not to starve for too long!

So, now a days eating fruits or drinking a glass of 'kanji' is allowed before doing poojA or visiting temples.

Those with diabetes better take precaution than repent later on with low sugar problem!

I don't think so, Sir!

They also have 'theettu' if there is some death in the family circle.

Should have a head bath and wear 'madi' vasthram if they do some poojA.

Only for daily prayer, there don't need any 'madi vastram' !

But some men come to the pooja room right after the bath, wearing a wet towel. :)

I think the most "madi" is birthday suit.
