The body is the instrument for doing your duties (Karma) and your intellect (Buddhi) is shaped by your Karma. Prayer and meditation will purify your intellect and make it an effective instrument to win the Lord’s Grace and for self-realization. The warmth of Divine Grace will melt all ignorance away. You can win it by engaging yourself in good deeds. Do your duties that you are best fitted for; that which you are ordained for, your Swadharma. God incarnates for teaching people to perform their dharma (duty). He corrects the Buddhi through counsel and command; at times condemning but also by being a close friend and well-wisher, so that people would willingly give up evil propensities and recognize the straight path. Tread the noble path and attain self-realization.

Some think it is not easy to lead a spiritual life while one
is living with a family. With focused breath on the Supreme
Power and graceful movements in life with spiritual activities,
one can understand the impact of spiritual activities and
its cause and effects. Right understanding of the
spiritual path itself is a better method towards the practice.
One has to understand the need for it and start thinking on it.
It is essential for a person to study the practices and penetrate
into them slowly and slowly so as to attain ultimate goal of
divine bliss. Concentration and an insight into the matter
will develop the mind and heart to get in touch with such
contacts if not in Satsang through a qualified Guru. One
has to avoid or keep away from any types of criticisms
that may come up during the time of practice. To remove
the darkness of doubt or dilemma in acquiring the spiritual
practices, one has to initially do some yoga practices or
meditation exercises or participate in a Satsang to have clarity
in mind and heart.

Be eager and earnest to learn more and more about the art of joyful living, the art of being happy always. People are happy when they dress well, wear rich clothes and strut about the streets. At times, this may cause envy among the little children who cannot afford these, and one may even feel elated with that response! But you can afford to be legitimately proud, only when you are able to control the vagaries of your mind and direct your emotions along honourable and healthy channels, braving even the ridicule of your so-called friends. That is true freedom; that is true success. If you reach that stage, then you become a seasoned driver and you can be trusted with the wheel on any road, and with any cargo, however precious. Now you are trained to not cause harm, either to yourself or to others. This stage is when you truly deserve to become a leader.

Words could only be an effective machinery for communicating
one's experience if the experience is already known to the Satsang.
Words could only be a symbol but sometimes it hurts someone owing
to the tone without giving the real meaning of the teller. A humble
person is likely to listen than speak Therefore, the description has
to inspire the devotee's imagination and give them an opportunity
to experience the desire themselves. It has to be an awakening
experience to the devotee to understand and put it into practice.
Consciousness is so powerful that if a person is hypnotized
i.e. if a person is made to understand, somebody's suggestion and their
thought process will match and would be in the same frequency.
Explanation should not be funny and should be perfectly logical so that
the devotee's perception is also in the same line of thinking. The dialogue
of descriptions or interpretations or projections about the practice of
spiritual activities, has to be eliminating false beliefs, dissolving personal
importance, focusing attention on the Supreme Power. One's a person
is directed and guided towards meditation, prayer, worship, etc and if
they start the practices then the mind gets engaged in getting the direct
experience over a period. Thus, a quiet mind derives the benefit and
experiences the love and affection of the Supreme Power coming out of
his/her practices enough to satisfy him/her in every-days life.

Once a miser lived in a leaky house. Rain water poured through the roof, into his house and he sat through it all night. Neighbours, seeing his plight, suggested he get the roof repaired. The miser remarked, “Let the rains subside, how can I repair it now?” And when the rains stopped, he replied, “Why should I worry about the leaks, now that the rains have stopped?” Do not take this approach. Instead of choosing to suffer when the rains come, as they are sure to do, wouldn’t it be wise to repair the roof right now? This example conveys the importance you must give to acquainting yourself with spiritual primers and textbooks without postponing this by even a moment. Begin right now, the first lessons of silence, prayer and repeating the Name of the Lord. It is never too soon to start the spiritual journey.

One can do worship pray individually or in a Satsang. Normally a
devotee prays for his personal benefits to relieve from his/her
problems, whereas in a Satsang it is a common prayer for
the welfare of everyone. Spiritual traditions have to be learnt
from a Guru so as to continue the devotional practices in a proper
way or procedure. Prayer or worship is nothing but an incessant
communication with the Supreme Power. Some pray in the morning
or evening or some during the day according to one's own convenience.
People follow different procedures, particularly with body postures,
while entering the Baba's Hall, keep the eyes closed and think of HIM
and prostrate to HIM before starting the prayer. Prayers could be
recited from memory if familiar or could be read from a book,
slokas could be chanted or bhajans can be sung along with a group or
individually either by accompaniment of musical instruments or without
that also. However, emotions are generally considered as a hindrance.
Hence one can do prayer without any emotion, setting aside one's
problems or worry.

As one practices to do the prayer with the help of an experienced
teacher or Guru, one has to cultivate a habit of experiencing through
the eyes to see the Supreme Power in different forms or according
to one's own Kula Deivam or Ishta Devatha so as to sustain that in
the mind and heart. Melodious kirtans or bhajans could help a person
to have entirely a different atmosphere so as to be cheerful always
and think of HIM with a calm mind. Perhaps, this could be one of the
right paths to develop devotion and bhakthi towards the Supreme
Power. With the help of continuous dedicated practice one can
certainly attain the divine bliss.

SAIRAM

You may or may not worship God, but you must respect your mother and father, who are responsible for your birth. Respect your mother. Keep her always happy. No one can estimate or describe a mother's love. It has no pollution. If you are able to win the love of your mother, it amounts to acquiring all degrees.

Our scriptures enjoin us to respect mother, father, teacher and God in that order. First and foremost is your mother who gave you birth. The father brings you up and puts you on the road to development. The mother is the foundation for the mansion of your life. The father represents the wall and the Guru is the roof. Finally, God is your life itself. Hence, those who yearn for God must love their mother first.

If only you keep her happy, all other things of happiness will be added unto you.

Singing the glory of the Lord is highly sacred. When you sing the Names of the Lord (Namasmarana), the snakes of bad qualities will come out. Namasmarana is like the piped musical instrument (Nadhaswaram), that attracts the snakes of evil qualities and draws them out and away from you. You must repeat the Lord’s Name in order to get rid of your negativities. Sing unto Him from the depth of your hearts, without any inhibition, with total dedication. Only then you can experience divine bliss. Today the Universe is facing a lot of problems due to lack of this habit. Young or old, rich or poor, educated or otherwise, everyone must do Namasmarana. Make this habit the very breath of your life. Let each and every cell of your body be filled with the Divine Name. Nothing else can give you the bliss, courage and strength you derive from singing the Lord’s Glory.

Bhajan is one of the proven process for gaining discipline in the mind and
the heart and also to keep away from any sort of desire or anger as it
makes one to get completely involved and drowned in the glory of the Supreme
Power. Further, meditation and Namasmaranam draws the attention of
a devotee by chanting the Nama of the Supreme Power to divert the mind
external activities. In the process the thought process gets focused on the
Supreme Power. One has to prostrate to HIM, meditate his Nama, try to
conquer HIM in one's mind and heart besides think of HIM always to seek
refuge in HIM. One has to slowly gain the concentration by chanting HIS
Nama and dhyana enables one to gain the contemplation in controlling the
senses. Above all one has to understand the difference between Nishkamya
bhakthi and Kamyartha bhakthi. One has to have prema bhakthi towards
the Supreme Power which is considered superior to attain the bliss early.

Have the progress of your country, your duty (Dharma) and your innate Divinity (Atma) before your mind’s eye at all times. Let your hunger for serving these three, grow more and more. Then your education will serve its purpose and give you a sense of mission and fulfillment. You will naturally acquire respect for elders, faith in your own Self, fear of sin, and fear of going against the voice of God present within you. Never cross this line – Do not do anything which brings tears in the eyes of your parents. Honour them and obey them. Do not condemn them as old-fashioned. Remember the adage, “Old is Gold”. Your parents can guide you; they can share with you their experience of the world and its tricks, and you will benefit from them.

Faith is nothing but a trust and belief on a proven object. It is very
important for a person to focus on the trust so as to have a divine belief.
However, it all depends on the good virtues one possesses. Everyone
is living in this Universe with some faith or the other to attain materialistic
benefits or happiness in the life. It may not be possible to take any
accurate decision if the beliefs are not positive owing to non-possession
of good virtues. While on the one side if a person possess faith, and if
he does not possess good virtues, there is no meaning in extending
charitable or good deeds despite his/her holding an intellectual ability.
One has to read the truth in between the lines, if a person has some good
feeling or emotion in any act. If a person is innocent, then he/she can be
guided on the right path. But then if a person is vindictive inwardly,
then there is no use in educating such people in any act that leads to
good virtues. Generally, people do not bother about the virtues.
While one has to be morally clean but also one has to have all
the qualities of righteousness which helps to form the character and
conduct of a person. In fact, a good virtue forms the beauty of the
mind and heart which is very essential and unavoidable one for a
mankind. To be precise, sometimes good virtues helps a person to
get out of troubles/problems because of reasoning as he/she does
not normally commit or sense the mistake.

Do not demean your talents; when you dive deep into yourself, you can discover the source of all strength. Small ants in millions creeping over a rock, can carve a deep groove along their path. Even the minute feet of the ants have that power. You might have seen on the walls around village wells, how hollow pits are produced on granite slabs by placing on them mud water pots continuously. Even though the pots are made of mud, over the years they erase even the hardest granite and make them hollow. The Atma Swarupam (Embodiment of Divine Self) is not Alpa Swarupam (insignificant). It is a powerful dynamo, capable of generating enormous power. The Spiritual teacher (Guru) shows you the goal (Guri), but you must generate the power yourself, by your own spiritual effort (Sadhana).

Divinity that is found at the heart of a person is nothing but a
spirit one has towards the Supreme Power. But then it has to
be a life force awakening the divine power in one culminating
in illumination of inner aspects with a natural inborn attraction
towards the growth of the Spiritual power. On seeing the
spiritual environment, one gets a feeling of divinity in himself/herself
and the need for divine acts and also the reason for getting engaged
in it. If this is generated, it is a welcome sign, and it brings in
the heart of a person a total revolution. In the process, the
spirit gets into the invisible life force which develops stimulation
and slowly it unfolds the step towards the spiritual path. Once
the journey commences in the spiritual path, it releases the hidden
reality and it makes the person to express his feelings and emotions
towards the Spiritual Power; slowly it becomes dynamic and powerful.
As a next step, he/she gets into creative activity understands the
concept of life and attains total consciousness. Thus it becomes
a Varadan or Varam or one may call it bonus in the humanity's
progressive forwardness into greater knowledge of spiritual acts
and attains wisdom.

The unmistakable sign of rain is the wetness of the ground. So too, the sign of an educated person, who has had several years of schooling is good manners. Such a person will be humble knowing that the field of knowledge is so vast that even after years of learning one has hardly touched its fringe. They must also be aware of their kinship with all beings and must show a keenness to serve others gladly, at all times, without any desire for publicity. The educated children must move with everyone in a friendly manner, without inhibitions, knowing that God is the moving force in everyone. God is behind all good impulses and useful attitudes. All of you are separate beads, strung together on one common thread, which is God.

Udhaseena
(detachment marked by renunciation) is a state that is neither complacence nor indifference. It means detachment from good as well as bad. I will explain this with an illustration: When a thorn gets into your foot, you use another thorn to remove the first one. After this you will have to discard both the thorns. You should not keep with you the second thorn though it has helped you in removing the first thorn. This is how you must gradually renounce the good and the bad. We should gradually cut down our relationship with the world. Most importantly do not enter into activities that induce unnecessary relationships, for that will prove detrimental to one’s welfare.

To observe a very small particle, you need a microscope; to see a remote object clearly, you need a telescope. These are yantras or instruments. The instruments that help you visualise the Core that has such contradictory attributes of being minuter than the minutest and more magnificent than the most magnificent, are called Mantras - formulae that save you when you meditate on them. They are also called Tantras (ceremonies and rites) when their practical application has to be emphasised. Faith in the efficacy of these Mantras, in the utility of the procedure prescribed, and in the existence of the Core - all of these are essential for success in the great adventure of acquiring the ultimate knowledge; just as faith in the efficacy of the instrument, in the correctness of the procedure, and in the existence of the material one is seeking to know more about, are essential for the scientist.

Mind and heart play the major role in chanting the mantras so as to
obtain its efficacy or effect. Bija Mantras or syllables originated
from Vedic language has to be spelt properly. In fact, chanting of
Mantras in Vedic tradition only in India and it spread over to other
countries. Benefits or effectiveness of devotional chanting or any
spiritual practice can be derived only through proper chanting with
proper tone. Wrong interpretation or wrong pronunciation may
bring in undesired results. Mantharam thraayathi ithi mantharam,
it protects any one who chants with perfection.

It is generally said that sound is mother of nature/light. By listening
or chanting mantras with perfect pronunciation, one can get into
illumination or light from darkness to light, from negative thinking
to positive, from wavering mind to a steadiness and from dual
thoughts to divine concept. In fact, mantra chanting heals a
person's problems and it is a divine umbrella to protect everyone.
If one masters the Mantras, one can achieve many things in life.
