When studying in the primary classes many children conduct themselves with humility, discipline and goodness. However when they reach the Secondary School, they lose some of these qualities. When they go to college, almost everything is gone! Why? It is the teachers who account for their discipline and good behaviour in the Primary School. In the higher classes and in colleges, is anything done through precept and practice to promote character and spirituality among the students? Today, education is sought for getting a job; this is not proper. Education is for developing right understanding. Students should imbibe culture along with academic knowledge. Spirituality and morality should be promoted among the students. Of all the professions in the world, that of the teacher is the most estimable. The teacher has to impart to the students what is good and ennobling. This should be developed in all educational institutions.

These days, concern about the children are mainly on discipline, if school - class
room management and motivation. In the class you will find some are restless,
impulsive, impatient and at times they test the nerves and authority of the
teacher. The teacher, sometimes, find the students unaccountable. We may
find a group of students quietly engaged in a class learning an activity or a lab
practice, while the same batch of students will turn into disruptive and disrespectful
behaviour in another class. The sense of belongingness should be created in them
and they should be taught to behave in a society with characteristics of socially
acceptable ways through some sort of motivation. The teaching profession is a very
noble one. The teacher or Guru is equal to God, he who moulds the children. The
children should cultivate in them some good behaviour taking them to spiritual and moral
education too at the instance of their Guru, as Bhagwan Baba tells us.

Although the food and habits may be different among nations, the spirit of harmony and unity displayed in sports is a gratifying example to all. It is a distinctive quality of sports that differences are forgotten and persons engage themselves in games in a divine spirit of friendliness and camaraderie. Sports help the players not only to improve their health but also to experience joy. However, one should not be content with realising these benefits alone. Mankind has another body besides the physical. It is the subtle body, otherwise known as the mind. It is equally essential to promote purity of the mind and develop large heartedness. True humanness blossoms only when the body, the mind and the spirit are developed harmoniously. The enthusiasm and effort which you display in sports should also be manifested in the spheres of morality and s pirituality.

The terms of morality and spirituality do not have commonality but for that most religions/
spiritual beliefs/faiths have some kind of morality tagged to it. To further explain, as
long as we live in the unreal, we have no chance or opportunity to know the real, until
we experience the reality. For e.g. when we come to shadow of a tree after standing in
the hot sun, we feel the difference. Secondly one to get an enlightenment, one must
attempt with sincere efforts to clear or remove the impurities rather destroy it from the
mind. Perfection can be achieved or attained in the mind with the purification of the body.
That is why it is said in the general term, cleanliness ir next to Godliness.

The whole world is intimately associated with the Sun God. He is the visible manifestation of the Lord. In India, Sun God (Surya) is considered highly sacred and granted the unique status of a great Guru. Sun is also the source of time. The Sun limits and regulates the number of years each one lives. He performs His duty without thought of reward, and is humble and steady. Imagine the patience with which the Sun puts up with all that extreme heat, and gives sufficient warmth to the human body, every single day. Human beings are so full of activity and intelligence on account of the solar energy that is imbibed. If the Sun is idle even for a moment, the whole world will go cold and dark. The actions of the great is the ideal that the rest have to keep in view. This also shows that all in the world are bound by the obligation of karma (activity) .

On Wednesday, July 14th I awakened remembering the tail end of a very vivid dream in which I found myself in a group of people waiting to be tested by judges, but I did not know the nature of the test.
Finally, my turn came, and they said with surprise, that this one, meaning me, was able to breathe the full breath.
Apparently, this was the test, and I remember being very surprised, as I do not practise Pranayama, and had not been aware of breathing differently from usual.

Shortly after waking, my husband Sidney and I started our usual morning routine of Tai Chi Chih physical exercises followed by the meditation according to Baba's suggestions and guidelines.
A few minutes after starting the Tai Chi I was very strongly aware of Baba standing in front of me, only a short distance away, and I was most impressed with the fact that although I did not actually see Him, I knew the space He occupied in the room, and His size and height compared to my own.

Then I noticed that He was literally pouring into my solar plexus what felt like energy, and I was amazed at how very easy it was to relax and breathe it in; and wondered why it had never seemed so easy before, and hoped that I could continue to be so open to receive from Him.

I didn't connect this with the dream until later.
I had awakened with a headache, so I thought that Baba must be helping me with that, and thanked Him.
This awareness of Baba continued throughout the exercises and on into the meditation, until I began to feel that Baba was inside of me and that His energy was circulating all through my body with a tingling sensation.

I did not mention this to Sidney at the time, as it was such a subjective experience.
After breakfast I took a shower in the bathroom which Sidney always uses instead of the one I usually use, which is being repainted.
As I stepped out of the shower Sidney stepped in, and the next second I heard him crash as he slipped on the tile and fell on his back on the tile steps.
He could neither breathe nor speak, only groan, as he lay inert.
As Baba's presence was still so strongly with me, it was easy and natural for me to call on Him for help.
Somehow I was able to move Sidney out of the shower and onto a mat on his stomach, and was horrified to see that his rib cage on the right side was caved in, and there were two red marks across the back, and black and blue bruises beginning to appear on the upper back.

I quickly got Vibhuti and the mangalasutra which Baba had materialized at the spiritual marriage last year; putting them on his back I started rubbing gently with the Vibhuti, massaging his back, as I talked out loud to Baba, asking for help.

I was profoundly moved as I watched the ribs move up under my hand and the upper back resume the normal shape, at which point he gasped in and was able to breathe again and speak.
As I continued to rub the Vibhuti into the injured area, the black and blue bruises began to fade as if they were being washed away.

I could feel the broken ribs move under my hand, and could hear the broken ends rub against one another, and later, the X-ray pictures showed that he broke three ribs.
The amazing part is that there was no puncture of the lung; the broken ends were close together so that it was not necessary to operate to pull them into place; and there were no bruises visible.

I feel certain that Baba must have known that this was about to happen, but as He has said He will not interfere with our karma, He prepared me ahead of time (without my knowing the reason) so that I would be alerted to call on Him for help immediately, and already be filled with His energy so that it could pour into Sidney, and so prevent the accident from being more serious than it is.

The chief reason for me to share this is that so many devotees think that as soon as they come to Baba they will live happily ever after, free from problems, as we were taught in the fairy stories we heard as children; and are deeply disappointed and disillusioned, and often begin to doubt Baba, when the exact opposite often takes place, and they appear to be under an attack, with barely enough time to recover from dealing with one problem before new ones loom up.

However, Baba has told us that He often accelerates our karma when we come to Him, and as He will not erase it, He helps us handle it if we call on Him, knowing we cannot deal with it alone.
In the experience, I have just shared, not only did He fill me with His presence, but He led me, (without my knowledge) to be right there, only inches away when Sidney fell.

If I had been anywhere else in the house he might not have survived, as his condition made it impossible to call me, and I could not have heard the fall with the bathroom door closed.

For me, it is much more realistic to know that Baba is always available to help us with our problems, than to expect Him to wave a magic wand and avert them, and in so doing take away the chance to learn the necessary lesson through handling them with His help.

I am filled with awe as I look back and realize the loving care with which He came ahead of the accident to prepare the way to lessen the severity of it.

There is no way to describe and I have no words to express on seeing
your message. Truly, there is nothing in the world to compare it. As
you have complete faith in HIM, His blessings, I am sure, through you,
Sri Baba's hands have done that miracle. Who ever was there at a time
even an adamant fellow who has no faith in God, would have certainly
admitted that miracle and would have made an absolutely surrender to
HIM. God Bless you Madam.

There can be no peace of mind for a person burdened by riches. People ignorantly seek this restlessness (ashaanthi) as they do not know where to acquire true peace (Shanthi). An educated person must have the virtue of Shanthi as the first qualification. This implies, not being affected by praise or blame, failure or success. It is the ego that makes one feel glad or sad. Therefore control the ego by extending love to every living being. Ego is lovelessness. A person afflicted with ego cannot rejoice when others are happy, and feel pained when others are miserable. Only a selfless and egoless person can share the happiness of others and take positive steps to alleviate others’ misery. God will ever be on the side of selfless persons and there is nothing that they cannot achieve.

Why this anxiety? Because man’s fundamental nature is to be happy and healthy. Your nature is joy. So when you are happy and healthy, no one is surprised or worried. Grief and sorrow are unnatural, and are the result of a delusion that has overwhelmed one’s nature. If you do a task as an assumed duty, you will find it difficult to put up with the troubles and travails that may come along with it. The task will also induce conceit, or the feeling 'I am the doer’, resulting in exhaustion or elation, disgust or pride. On the other hand when karma (action) is performed as your nature you can have fortitude.

He is the Dharmadevatha (God of righteousness), scattering His rays equally on all. The service He does and the happiness He contributes is something no one else can. Despite doing this for millions of years, without any pride, He moves about unattached to the consequences of His energising mission of service. extremely useful to the whole human race. The sun rays are known to be the

Sun. Vivekam (Wisdom) is required to be cultivated in us to differentiate between
Dharma and Adharma, which can be done only when one follows the path of Dharma.
First of all, the ego in one has to be melted away. Courage is a thing which makes

Everyone gets into dilemma as to the know the purpose of human birth, which is a very rare one.
To reach the Lord through worship, there are many routes similar to our life. We at sometimes
feel how to choose and set a goal. Choosing the right goal to begin with is little hard. As we
choose to work on any goal, we feel it is imperative for our health, stability, happiness while we
think and hesitate as to whether do we have the requisite ability to meet the goals. This process
of thinking gives us confidence, I mean mental confidence. But then this should not end with this.
We should evaluate our progress at periodical intervals. On the same lines, we also have to humbly
think about as to how to choose the spiritual path, sometimes while analysing, it may look little
confusing. Also, we may find at times in our mind that it will be a long journey, with our routines on
one side, to find the spiritual connection or seek a spiritual path. Let us hurry, relax ourselves and
control our energy to travel on the path of spirituality to live happily and securely with complete
mental confidence. As Baba says, then only we will be to attain the corals, pearls in our life;
corals and pearls are nothing but the bliss of God.

As Baba says, we have to have a clean soul in us to look for HIM always and HE will
be with us always. It is really those people who accept the Will of HIM are blessed.
Perhaps, who hesitate or reject the will of HIM, may be unfortunates. We should ever
remember HIM. Let us not forget our Karma or Deeds is the cause of our enduring
Happiness or Sorrow. We have to put up with, no doubt, that whatever comes to us.
Let us try to forget that dull or unwelcome day and renew our energy to pray HIM for
HIS bliss to be with us in the days or years to come.

It was on the 5th May 1974, that I was proceeding by car from Arusha, in Tanzania, East Africa, to Machame Hospital, to attend to a patient, whose condition was reported to be rather serious. My wife and two other ladies were seated at the back; I sat beside the driver. We had hardly travelled about five miles beyond Arusha, when a truck with a trailer attached was seen coming fast from the opposite direction. In about thirty seconds, we would have crossed each other safely. But, suddenly, the heavily loaded trailer got detached, and came towards us, like a demon determined to destroy us. There was no method of stopping it or slowing it or diverting it.

The truck sped on, without its driver knowing that the trailer had got loose. On our right was the truck and on our left was a huge boulder, rising twenty feet from the ground. And, right in front was the demon of a loaded trailer intent on smashing our car. My driver tried his best to avoid the collision and save us and the 'Cortina'. As soon as the truck was by-passed, the driver turned "in between the truck and the trailer," and he was able to save his side of the car as well as the back portion. But, unfortunately, the side on which I was sitting was hit and shattered badly. The front wheel of the car was pushed by the impact of the hit right up to the front seat; as a result, my right leg went under the seat and suffered multiple compound fractures below the knee, with five fragments. There was a dislocation of the left hip joint. The dashboard pressed the front of my chest and my head was crushed between the upper and lower edges of th e window. There was no pulsation; breathing stopped. People gathered round and wailed in great grief, "Poor Doctor! What a death! who can counter the Will of God?"

I felt that I was alive and that I was in Prasanthi Nilayam. Baba whispered to me in a low voice, —I wondered why He whispered to me like that—"Get up; otherwise your leg will be no more!" I called out, "Baba! Baba!" and when the people around me heard the voice, they realised with a shock that I was still alive. They started pulling the car from underneath the giant trailer.

Just at that moment, they heard the shout, "Kiswahili", above the din. Two hefty looking Africans appeared and shouted Kiswahili meaning, 'make way' "Allow us to get this doctor out," they said. They kept all else at a distance and took entire charge of the salvage operation. We will get this doctor out, they seemed to say. They used their physical strength to cut open the window, push back the dash board, and remove the plate under which the right leg was stuck. They kept the jack underneath the seat and pulled it behind. Meanwhile I gained a little consciousness when they touched the body and handled it in various ways. I asked for water, and when it was offered, I could sip a few drops only with great difficulty. Then, I became unconscious again.

People told me later that the two Africans struggled for over an hour and a half, to get my body out of the damaged car and put it in the ambulance van. As soon as that was done, they disappeared and no body knew who they were. They have not been seen all these years. If they had been 'real', they would certainly have come to Arusha, in anticipation of some recognition of the timely and invaluable help rendered.
I was at Whitefield, near Bangalore, at Brindavan, on 19th and 20th April '78 where Baba was staying. I still had to use a stick while walking and climbing steps. Baba called me twice for interviews with Him. He said He was aware of the accident. "Your spinal cord was completely crushed, I had to come in the form of two Africans, to give you a new life. Your wife was surprised when she was dragged aside. I assured her that she need not worry about you."

In His unbounded Love, He removed the defect from the right leg, which necessitated the use of the stick, by Himself rubbing over the right knee joint with Vibhuti created by Him. I could thereafter walk and climb steps, as before the accident.

Take the five elements, the components of this Prapancha(Universe). Of these, water has movement and coldness as itsDharma; combustion and light are the Dharma of fire. Each of the five elements have their unique Dharma. Humanity for man and animality for animals - these guard them from decline. How can fire be fire, if it has no power of combustion and light? It must manifest the Dharma to be itself. When it loses that, it becomes as lifeless as a piece of charcoal. Similarly man too has some natural characteristics that are his very life-breath; one can be identified as 'human' only when these abilities are present. To preserve and foster such qualities and abilities, certain modes of behaviour and lines of thought are laid down. This is called Dharma. These qualities are not imported from somewhere o utside, nor can it be removed. It is your own genuine nature, your uniqueness.

Dharma is nothing but HIS spiritual commands as our Veda Scriptures mention. In other
words Dharma is nothing but Pravrutti. One cannot just by fulfilling needs become ambitious
to seek the blessings of God by Nivrutti. Pravrutti and Nivrutti are rather inseparable.
Our Vedas clearly mentions that if one disobey the Dharma as stipulated in our
Divine Scriptures in this materialistic world, we won't be able to seek the Blessings
of God, even if one makes an earnest attempt through the methods or path viz.
Meditation, Worship, Penance, etc. In other words absolute obedience to God is
nothing but Pravrutti. Genuine faith and complete and unconditional devotion to God
with complete control of mind, we can certainly attain to seek the blessings of God.
