One person has completed Bsc degree and got good marks. His ambition was to join army and serve nation. He lost his father many years back and he was brought up by his mother and his mother was very happy that his son will join job and get her daughters married. Before leaving for job he wanted to have darshan of perumal and visited Tirupathi. Early morning he reached the town and went to pushkarani for taking a bath. He slipped and fell in the tank and died. His dead body was photographed and pulblished in paper. The person's mother noticed the picture appeared in the paper and cried. She is a staunch devotee of puttaparthi sai and prayed him. After some months baba appeared in her dream and called her to puttaparthi. Baba called her and told her that his son has attained the foot of perumal and showed his palm to her and she could visualise that a jyothi is moving from the dead body of his son and reach the foot of perumal and for a moment perumal turns in to baba. After that Baba told her, in the previous janma his son was a staunch devotee of perumal and was doing daily pooja to perumal and was interested to lose his life by drowning in the pushkarani which perumal made his wish satisfied in this janma.- courtesy: kumudam.

Though Perumal has satisfied his wish, the janma of the mother languishes

The mother of that person joined puttaparthi sai and started her seva as per the direction of saibaba.

When a few tiny stones get mixed in rice and get between the teeth, one laments in disgust that the plate of rice is but a plate of stones. It is human nature to exaggerate in order to create an impression. Often, people treat joy as incidental and insignificant and dwell more on grief and pain. Do not give in during times of trouble. The root-cause for losses, troubles, poverty and difficulties is the loss of self-confidence and enthusiasm. The secret of strength and courage lies within you. Good people and well-wishers imbued with spontaneity, sacrifice and a spirit of detachment are very much present amongst us. Have faith and do not despair or lose faith in yourself or God. With sincere faith, act, speak and think in a manner that God is pleased and surrender yourself to Him completely. Be pure, be simple, be sincere and He will answer your agonising call.

Spend the allotted span of years in the contemplation and the adoration of the Almighty, not in servile praise of the feeble, the futile and the weak. Life is an opportunity afforded to each, not to merely eat and drink, but to achieve something nobler and grander: to master oneself and merge in the Reality. The discipline must come from within, not from without; people must control themselves through their own innate strength, not get controlled through fear of someone or desire for temporary gain. Textual knowledge can’t confer devotion. You can’t get it from any Guru. No friend can make a gift of devotion. It should be born in one’s own Heart. It can’t be stuffed into your heart. The devotion of the Gopis was pure and selfless. It was steady, unshakeable, and unwavering. Radha was the most prominent among them. She felt herself one with Krishna, tadatmya, total identification. Radha had only Krishna trsna, thirst or desire for God, and not lokatrsna, worldly desire.
One day, Krishna went to a nearby place in His vehicle along with Rukmini. All the inhabitants of the place gathered there and gave them a tumultuous welcome, exceedingly jubilant.
Rukmini noticed Krishna gazing intently at a person to her side. That person, too, was casting looks on Krishna. Krishna slowly and softly said, “Rukmini! Do you know Radha? She is an ardent devotee of Mine.” Hearing this, Rukmini got down from the vehicle and rushed close to Radha and after exchanging pleasantries, invited her to spend some time with her in the palace, in Dwaraka. Accordingly, on the following day, Radha went to Dwaraka. Rukmini received Radha at the main entrance and escorted her into the palace. Radha stayed with Rukmini in the palace for some time, talking about Krishna and singing the glories of Krishna. They began sharing the joys of their experiences with Lord Krishna. Rukmini served hot milk to Radha, so that she could be with her for some more time and talk a little longer about Krishna, as she would sip the milk slowly. But, Radha gulped the whole cup of hot milk at once. All the same, the conversation we nt on for some time and then, Radha left the palace for her village.
Krishna returned in the evening, very much tired. He said to Rukmini, “Rukmini! Look! I am very tired and exhausted; I have a burning sensation in My Feet, it is unbearable.” Rukmini noticed some blisters on His Feet and wondered how and why such a thing happened to Him. Krishna then said, “Rukmini! You served very hot milk to Radha this afternoon, when she came to visit you in response to your invitation, didn’t you? Radha drank the whole lot at one gulp. As My Feet are located in her heart, the hot milk spilt on My Feet and so, you now find blisters there, where I feel the burning sensation.” This was the level of Radha’s devotion.
One day, to test Radha’s devotion, a Gopi gave her a pot with holes to fetch water from the river Yamuna. Radha didn’t notice that. She was constantly repeating the sacred Name of Krishna, as she was dipping the pot in the river. With her every utterance of Krishna’s precious Name, one hole after another got cemented. The pot never leaked and Radha brought home a pot full of water. That was the height of her devotion!
In the very name ‘Radha’, ‘R’ signifies ‘Radha’, ‘A’ is for ‘Adhar’ or foundation, ‘D’ signifies ‘Dhara’ or continuous, uninterrupted flow, and the next ‘A’ means ‘Aradhana’ or worship. Her devotion was unflinching like a dhara, continuous flow like oil.
As Radha repeated the name of Krishna, Krishna also thought of Radha repeatedly. This is the link and the intimacy between a devotee and his or her personal God or Deva.

Everyone knows that desire is the basic cause for good and evil acts. But at the
same time, if a person has uncontrolled desire, it may lead to unwanted path. If one
closely watch the desires, one can attain a realization that most of our problems
in life are caused only by uncontrolled desires. One should not conclude to have a
desire a bad act. Not at all. There is nothing wrong to have desire but one has to
make sure that he/she chooses the right kind of desires and make sure that such desires
do not cause any problems. If one is able to control the desire, he/she can decide
and navigate the life in the right direction one intends, than not being guided by
the desires just like that. One should not allow the desires to direct a person's
life. Hence there is a need to check the desires at all levels. One has to find out
what is the true value in life and one has to live according to that without
giving any room for unwanted desires. One has to create a positive thought process
without being attracted by sensual desires.

There are some people, who always condemn themselves and their lives, and aspire for the grace of God to save them. They think that jeeva (individual) and Deva (Almighty) are two separate entities and can never merge or unite. This is untrue. Sin is not the real nature of human beings. They are repositories of peace, joy, truth and justice and are pure, good, loving and wise. Endeavour to express through your actions, the purity that you are. This pleases the Lord and He will shower His grace. Pray for even those who express greed or hate, sympathize with their ignorance and pray that their steps may be directed towards justice and love. - Divine Discourse, Oct 2, 1965.

One should not practice Contempt and Hatred. Hatred is a very strong word of anger.
Everybody is equal before God. Therefore, there is no question of dislike towards someone
with a passion. Though contempt is not a strong word as that of hatred, it is not to be
practiced by anyone. Normally some people express the feeling of disliking towards
somebody which indirectly implies that the other person is considered worthless
and undeserving of respects or regards. This is not a good sign at all. One has to
cultivate an attitude of mutual respect. Everyone has an inner critic – the voice in our
head that monitors our behavior and the inner critic can completely block a person
and sometimes cause despair. Hence one needs to transform the harsh inner critic.
One needs to get an awareness as to how one should reciprocate while one happens
to receive a feeling of contempt. Human being is quite natural to face emotions
and there could be variations too. Fear, anger, jealousy, haterd, greed, lust, curiosity,
depression, contempt, etc, are a few which forms part of emotions. One should try
to keep away from all this to lead a spiritual life. Every emotion one experiences normally
creates a chemical reaction in the body. Generally it is known as intuition or psychic ability.
But one has the capacity to condition or control and ignore the intuition or psychic
abilities by reasoning. As Baba says, one has to pray even for those people who express haterd
towards us.

Sincere prayer towards God brings lot of power and energy in a person and
produces amazing results. Often we ask a question whether God is powerful.
We also say that HE is present everywhere and can be seen any time as HE
has not set any time limit for a devotee. For example, devotees who wait
for hours together in the waiting hall at Tirupathi are allowed to have darshan of
Sri Venkatachalapathy even during midnight. Perhaps HE waits for us to
give us darshan without going to sleep. Similarly, if one follows meditation
and prayer, they certainly reduce stress. One will find a happy face from the
devotees who are coming out from the Tirupathi Temple even during midnight
without sleeping. One normally finds a relief after darshan and that he/she gets
away from the worries of life, rather to a more peaceful state of mind.
Both peace of mind and happiness are true benefits of meditation and prayer and
worship. Everyone seeks happiness in their lives, and if someone is able to find peace
of mind through prayer, worship and meditation, it is indirectly understood that they
welcome happiness in their life.

Spiritual transformation is not that easy for a common man. It needs lot of effort
and sustained devotion and dedicated prayer. One has to have compassion,
kindness besides ability to have forbearance and love. One has to train the mind
in such a way that it possesses pure thoughts and not even a symptom of evil deeds.
If one is able to entertain fine feelings of godly acts in one's heart, he/she may be
able to enjoy enduring happiness of god's blessings. Thus, one has to train the mind
to develop a taste only for the good and the godly acts and not for wealth acquisition
or material gains, etc. Further one has to form a mind to develop the conviction so that
it may be possible to destroy or eliminate the self-cherishing mind and pave way
for obtaining a purified mind eliminating all negative karmas. Further, one has to medidate
daily with complete devotion and bhakthi as far as possible. If one adopts this practice
it will automatically enhance the spirit of the mind to keep away from the factor of
self concept. May be that one may have to do self-analysis exercises by observing
oneself, psychological exercises of achieving greater mindfulness, goodness, kindness,
control of passion, etc. besides cultivate a habit to maintain deep inner peace and
mainly contentment. If a person practices a simple ethical life and trains the mind in an
effective way towards godly acts, one may be able to get out of all bad karmas of the past.

Bhagawan Baba says that a true devotee who understands HIM deeply
must do things that will make HIM happy and HE inturn will take the responsibility
to bring permanent happiness in one's life. HE also says that one should not
spend lavishly in material gains. He advises the devotee to think of the God for the future.
HE says that a loss in business is possible but one need not have to worry. One has to act
carefully so that HE can save the devotee. He advises all his devotees to offer food to poor
people who are in need and also feed the birds. HE says that this act will heal devotee's pains.
One has to avoid bad company. If someone tries to spoil the reputation of the devotee
he/she should go away from the place they are. However, HE says that nothing is wrong
if one acts true according to laws of nature.

Humility, though not in born, it can be learnt by seeing others or conducting ourselves
with the association of people in Satsang. That is why, it is said that knowledgeable
and intelligent people normally when they notice the weakness in others, immediately
correct themselves. Ignorance and enthusiasm may take us sometime to a wrong path.
To be precise, humility has no substitute at all. Similarly, pride leads to separation,
while humility enables one to realize the unity. Normally a humble person in the society
is well honoured. He/She will be highly respected by his/her associates. Elders
teach us how one should be humble. Like that our Puranas also tell us about the
humble attitude. We can see in our history that humble people always got blessed.
The reward for humility automatically comes unannounced to honour a person's life.
A wise person when he anticipates any problem, he/she takes refuge either to the elders
or to the God. Humility also helps to set aside the self interest. A person with humility
can certainly bring in a cool atmosphere amongst the angry people. Why, even
enemies can be turned into friends by adopting humility. Humility enables one to understand
the actual reality. It gives an understanding of true nature and circumstance.
Humility is the simplicity of seeing things as they are. Humility gives you the vision that
allows you to submit to the elders and seniors. Humility also eradicates the unwanted
human desire besides the human desire for recognition, honour, fame, disorderly pleasure, or
fortune, etc. Humility gives strength to one and all to perceive the reality.

Bhagawan Sai Inspires

You see and hear certain things during the day. But when you go to bed and dream during sleep, you are not aware of all this; you see and experience a new set of events, which seem as real, as impressive, and as significant as those you witnessed when awake. And when in deep sleep, nothing ‘is’, except probably the inner consciousness that you are. When you dream, the dream is real; when awake, the waking experience is as real as the dream was. The fact is, it is all a dream, a creation of the mind when the Atma (the true self) is reflected on it. Remove that mind, then there will be nothing on which the Atma reflects. The Atma shall then shine in its own splendour. Jnana (Wisdom) is passing from the dream stage to the waking stage, and realising the dream to be unreal. Seek the springs of bliss within you and happiness will be your lot, here and for ever. Believe that the bliss within you is derived from God who is your Reality.

Generally, ignorance is termed as bliss in certain areas only. If a person believes
ignorance is bliss, then he may accept it like that. One has to understand the
ultimate things in life. Knowledge becomes bliss in every issue. Sometimes,
one looses the ignorance and bliss with innocence; however it facilitates to gain
knowledge, compassion, and real understanding. It cannot be said that a person
remains in the state of ignorance for a long period. However, it is better to
know about what is going on, but at the same time, knowing too much is also not
advisable. Suppose a person is standing in the middle of a road not noticing
a speeding car coming on his way, then it can be termed as a state of bliss.
Though the person remains ignorant, the moment that the speeding car hits
him/her, he/she realizes and then it becomes an experience. Happiness also
can be termed as bliss. God is bliss. Actual truth remains intellect and intellect
becomes a part of a person. Similarly affection becomes emotional.
Further bliss is also defined as silence. As Baba says, one has to believe
that bliss is in everyone which is derived from God and that is the reality.
