Ten Indriyas (Five Jnana Indriyas and five karma Indriyas) should be controlled. The one who has mastery over his Indriyas is really Dasaratha. You must earn your birthright, which is Peace (Shanthi). Restlessness (ashanthi) is an unnatural state. To recover this heritage of peace, people try many methods – accumulation of riches, maintenance of good health, mastery of knowledge, cultivation of arts, etc. All these are not fundamental. Three basic needs remain even after all these methods are exhausted - the need for Truth, Light and for Immortality. It is only when these are won that Peace will be permanently established.

Devotion is like a King who has two aides-de-camp called Wisdom (Jnana) and Detachment (Vairagyam). Without these body-guards, devotion is never safe or secure. Devotion must be built upon the foundation of Wisdom and must flower as Detachment from the world. The man of wisdom (Jnani) is unmoved by the agitating feelings and emotions and is unshaken by the storms of good fortune and bad (asthithaprajna). The one who is detached (vairagi) is the one who has rid himself of the three gunas (or qualities of the mind). A devotee is one who has love towards all living beings. Bhakthi, Jnana andVairagya are three peaks of the same Himalayan Range. Premacreates daya (compassion), Vairaagya induces dhama (tolerance); and, jnaana (wisdom) leads you along the path of dharma.

Practise moderation in speech – it will help you in many ways. When the foot slips, the wound heals after a few months; when the tongue slips, the wound it causes in the heart of another will fester for life. The tongue is liable to four big errors – uttering falsehood, finding fault with others, excessive articulation and indulging in scandals. These have to be strictly avoided if there has to be peace for the individual and the society. The bond of love and brotherliness will be stronger if people would speak less and speak sweetly. Silence (mounam) has been prescribed as a spiritual practice, for this same reason. You are all spiritual aspirants at various stages of the road and so this discipline is valuable for you also.

If one develops faith towards the Supreme Power and gains it,
it a great gift one gets in life. In the midst of one's busy life
activities, if one concentrates on the Supreme Power to stay spiritually,
will be a boon. Therefore, one should concentrate on the Supreme
Power more deeply slightly modifying the lifestyle choices, which is not
an impossible one. If one fails to gain the supreme power in the life,
the life will not be an enjoyable one. Therefore, one should strive
to gain the Divine Power to the maximum extent possible by concentrating
on the Supreme Power.

Sadhana is the power which would enable a person to raise out of spiritual deadness
and facilitate to elevate one above everything, particularly leading to the attainment
of divine goals. Through practices, the spiritual awareness gets unfolded. Under the
guidance of a Guru, devotees embrace the spiritual practices including meditation,
chanting of mantras, contemplation and study of spiritual materials besides being educated
to do social self-less service, leading to the goal of Self-realization. Impure thoughts gets
gradually vanished when a person does regular Japam and meditation. One has to stick
to the spiritual practice tenaciously and is bound to succeed eventually. One has to
have a magnanimous vision and pure Vichars in raising up towards the divine power.

Cancer Cancelled: Please read

Shri.Lal Bahadur Sastry - the then Prime Minister's Personal assistant was Shri.Thyagaraj. As he had a serious health problem, he went to Bangalore for a medical check-up. After thoroughly examining him, doctors diagnosed him as a cancer patient and declared his life expectancy to be just a month to three months.

A Doctor who was Bhagawan's Devotee took him aside and told him , "Sir,There is only one remedy for your disease, and that is to pray at the Lotus Feet of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and request Him to save you. There is no other way. Dr.S.Bhagavantham, Baba's devotee, is presently right here in this hospital. Swami is coming here tomorrow to visit him. You may avail of this excellent opportunity.

But Thyagaraj declined the advice. He added, "I am the personal assistant to the Prime Minister of India. I do not need to fall at the feet of any Baba. I can afford to get proper medical treatment anywhere." He followed his own counsel and went here and there for medical help. After two months, he returned to the same hospital and got himself examined once again. Sure enough, doctors declared that he would live only for another month or so.

Thyagaraj was now in a desperate hurry to reach Puttaparthi. As he waited for darshan, Swami approached him and said, "Cancer?" Poor Thyagaraj burst into tears and fell at Swami's Lotus Feet. Swami materialized vibhuthi, placed it in his hand and told him to eat it. This was done for three consecutive days. On the third day, Bhagawan said smilingly, "Cancer is cancelled!"

Needless to add, subsequent medical tests confirmed no trace of cancer on Thyagaraj.

SAI is forever with us.

This is a very touching talk given by Brother Satyajit Salian, Swami's once "physical" caretaker. Brother Satyajit had the great blessing of being in very close proximity with Swami on a daily basis for many years. This video is a 10 minute excerpt of a one hour long talk given to the a large public audience in Indore, India, in September 2011.

Love is like an energetic river flowing always through ups and downs in which every
one of us live. Divine power can make everything and it can make it happen. The
infinite divine power can bring divine wisdom in a person through constant and
persistent dedicated divine activities. Spiritual books motivate everyone to dedicate
oneself to attain divine wisdom. In other words, it can be termed, the infinite divine
power as omnipresent and one can feel and sense divine power prevailing through
divine exercises. Such souls are blessed ones. Once a person attains the divine powers
one has to speak the truth and act in the right path. Some people use the divine power
for a wrong use which sometimes destroys even the good ones. One has a moral
responsibility to use the divine power in the right direction for a good cause.

SAIRAM

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,

With blessings of our beloved Lord, Prof.Anil Kumar on May 19, 2013 launched new website www.voiceofsai.com. Heart felt thanks to all the 300 plus devotees who participated in the survey and gave some very valuable suggestions. Close to 70 names were suggested and after a thorough discussions, it was decided to go with voiceofsai.com
This website apart from carrying all of Prof. Anil Kumar's talks in video, Audio and text formats will also have popular videos of Swami on YOUTUBE, a new section called GLOBAL SAI NEWS, which is open for the whole Sai fraternity. The idea of this section is to share all the good work that is happening in your Center, in your Country so that many other devotees staying else where will get to know how a particular seva can be done and also to inspire the whole world and let the flag of Sathya Sai Baba fly high.

Devotees can send photos and a brief write up of some extra-ordinary programmes taken up by devotees around the world. Considering the number of submissions and to filter the authentic and most appropriate ones, VOICE OF SAI editorial team will be moderating this section before making it public.

There is one more section where there are plans to interview devotees from all walks of life including some old time devotees of Bhagawan who had amazing experiences with Bhagawan. We would love to know such people and interview them so that the SAI TREASURE in them can be shared and cherished by future generations and can be of immense inspiration to many. We request Sai brothers and sisters, to give us contact details of such devotees and we would even be willing to travel places to interview even though ideally we would prefer interviewing them in Puttaparthi as and when they make a visit.

Considering the fast pace of life prevailing in the society and as the number of book readers have gone down, there will be one more section in www.voiceofsai.com called SAI BOOK REVIEWS, for example Vahini Series written by Bhagawan, will be explained in a nut shell instead of reading the whole book.

There are many more sections that are being considered to add into the new website, If you have any suggestions, ideas please feel free to email VOICE OF SAI team and VOS is also looking for volunteers who can help with transcribing, translating, designing proof reading etc and if you want to be part of this sacred project, please write to [email protected]
