"It was the Special Darshan arranged for the Sevadals of the first batch of all India service which started on 15th March. The Sevadals were from Tamilnadu, Kerala, MP, Jharkand & many more Northern states. As you know Swami had been giving such special Darshans at Poornachandra Hall for all Sevadals after finishing their duty for the past few batches. And we were the last batch(I dont know whether we were lucky or we were unlucky that we could not get any more). Swami was with us for more than 25 minutes. He gave us Abhayahasta at least 5 to 6 times. Everyone were in tears of happiness with Swami. I did not move away for a long time. Its divine and nothing can get back that experience"

It is believed that every man has a free will. This is a mistake. It is also believed that it is through the individual's ideas and efforts that many things are accomplished. This is based on misconceptions regarding man's doership and egoism. Strength derived from the Divine alone is true strength. All else is weakness. To realise the Atma, physical prowess is of no avail. It is only by developing the sense of spiritual oneness, that the Atmic Consciousness can be realised. Today the world is plunged in chaos and conflict because this feeling of oneness has been lost. Man engages himself in strenuous efforts to achieve worldly comforts. But he does not make even a minute fraction of such efforts to meditate on God. How much greater happiness would he enjoy if he were to devote even a few moments to thoughts of God!

- Divine Discourse, May 30, 1990.

The soul which is termed as Atma and when it enters a human body
it makes that person as Kartha to fulfill the desire of the soul. It is
mentioned in Puranas, that a soul has rebirth to complete the unfinished
tasks of the past lives. One can notice that some persons who believe in
rendering pious activities, offering charities and performing welfare work
to the human society, do it voluntarily without any hesitation or coercion.
There the question may arise, why should such persons worry about the
Supreme Divine Power. If you look at that, one will notice that there is
no spiritual impact behind it. Such people are interested in getting influenced
in the society to earn a name for them and not strictly speaking they get
involved in the divine activity. Therefore one has to get completely involved
in the divine activity to attain the bliss of the Supreme Power.

Sai

Once during Bhagawan's Darshan, a devotee was continuously calling Him in great anguish, "Swami, Swami!" Swami noticed him and invited him into the interview room. He was longing for Swami's love, for Swami's divine proximity and for an opportunity of conversing with Swami. Swami entered the room, closed the door and was bolting it. The devotee could not hold himself any longer. He blurted out, "Swami, I have been waiting for you for the last three weeks. For three long weeks, Swami!"

Swami turned around and said affectionately, "Bangaru, do you know for how many years I have been waiting for you?" The man was thunder-struck! Bhagawan? Actually waiting? For him? He was overwhelmed at the thought. Unable to bear the impact of the flood of Baba's love, he started weeping.

Good and evil are an integral part of the world like light-darkness, happiness-misery and positive-negative. It is the nature of the world to have both in equal measure and that balance has been maintained from times immemorial. There has never been a time of ‘only-good’ or of ‘only-bad’. That has been the case because in the dual world, they cannot be separated just like one cannot separate the two sides of the coin. The only way out of ‘duality’ is the understanding of one’s Divine Reality. That is exactly what the Masters have done - be it Ramana Maharshi, the Buddha, Mahavira, Guru Nanak etc. None of them ‘wiped out evil’ from the face of the earth. They lived and taught men to transcend their consciousness beyond this duality. To transcend duality, one has to put in lot of efforts.

The aspirant who seeks to experience the Atma will not be able to have it by performing worldly actions. The Atma is all-pervading. The Cosmos is permeated by the Chaitanya (AtmicConsciousness). When there is a pot with water, we can directly see the sun's reflection. Absence of a pot does not mean that there is no sun or reflection of the sun. Irrespective of whether there is a body or not, whether there is a mind or not, the Atma is present. There is no need for a body or mind to experience the Divine. “God loves the theist and the atheist, the good and the bad equally. There is no difference. He supports both equally.”
Good and evil are an integral part of the world like light-darkness, happiness-misery and positive-negative. Anityam Asukham Loke
- the world is impermanent and filled with sorrows - as Swami says. The defeat, disappointment and despair of the ‘good’ in its efforts to change the world, make it turn inward for solace. It is in that inner search that the individual is able to give up dehabhimanam and identify with the absolute Truth. That is what Gautama did; that is what Ramana did - launched on an inner search that gave enlightenment and liberation.

And THAT is why Swami encourages the good - because the good alone makes endeavors which lead to discouragement and disappointment. And out of that arises the inspiration and intensity needed to pursue the Truth and achieve it too!

Good and Bad: Why 'good' is the greater reality?

Swami what is Creation ?

"Never comprehend Creation, It is something Divine and cannot be comprehended, Can you clap with one hand, you cannot, that is creation, There is only One hand in creation and that is God's.

Swami,Is There reincarnation and rebirth for everyone?

Bhagavan: You are reborn now, aren't you?, You will be again and again and again. The body is nothing but pure illusion and this illusion will keep on repeating itself on and on until you find the Real Self. Then there is nothing like Rebirth and you will be one with the Lord.

Swami, What actually is Birth and Death ?

Only the Body has birth and Death, but the Body is illusion created by you, So in actual reality there is no Birth and Death at all.

Medicine is useless for the dead as well as the sturdy. Those endowed with devotion are already marching on their path. There is no use in speaking to those who have no devotion in them; it is a sheer waste of time. There are many, who are conscious of the Higher Power and are feebly desirous of contacting it, but are wavering and unsteady. They are either ignorant of the path and its benefits or are afraid of the consequences – my message is for such half-apathetic devotees. First learn the art of living in the midst of all kinds of people, so you neither grieve nor make others grieve. Make the best use of the opportunities you are gifted with to acquire wisdom, and derive and spread joy. Learn from the saints, the eternal wisdom and profit from it. Then, spread noble thoughts and good impulses and grow spiritually.

It was summer. Some Sai devotees had assembled near the leprosy asylum for seva. The bhajans started. Students of the Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School had also gathered there. After bhajan, fruits were distributed to the inmates.
It was really a sad sight to see the patients in the asylum. I wondered what karmic law had brought on this dreaded disease to the afflicted persons. As I was thinking about these things, an elderly gentleman, leader of the Seva Samiti, came and said: "Why don't you, being Swami's students, come and talk to them?" I didn't have enough courage to go in. I looked around and noted that even other friends were hesitant. We had to give in as the elders said, "Don't worry, we won't go into the interior. Just speak to them for some time."
A small boy came closer. The old gentleman told him: "See, they are Baba's students." His eyes glowed with admiration. We boys moved back a little. Suddenly, he said: "Don't be afraid. I won't touch you." We were `touched' by this statement. Then he started speaking in Marathi. He was aged 12 and the disease was in its early stages. He said that he saw Baba in a dream and described how Baba comes out for darshan, the Prasanthi Mandir, and the college buildings. He had never seen Baba! He said Baba often came in his dreams. He said: "You are so close to Swami, please pray for my healing." This brought tears in our eyes. We said, "Surely we will pray for you."
Then suddenly the elderly devotee said: "If anybody has the Vibhuti given by Swami, why don't you give it to him?" While going home for the vacation, Swami gives us Vibhuti prasadam and some of us had Vibhuti packets readily in our pockets. Immediately we gave the lad some packets.
Back at Prasanthi Nilayam after the vacation, we resumed our studies. One day I received a letter from the Samiti leader saying that the boy whom we had met at the asylum had refused to take any medicine and was only applying the Vibhuti given to him, and praying to Swami. The Hospital authorities were a bit apprehensive about this and rather displeased with the Sai devotees for interfering with the treatment they were giving to the boy.
After two weeks, the doctors examined the boy. There was no trace of leprosy. He was healed!

All the five senses subserve the same Purusha. It is one family, under one Master. The senses need not necessarily be inimical; they can be trained to cooperate in the sadhana. Why? Even intellect can become an enemy, if it promotes conceit and competitive exhibitionism. The easiest way to illumine your inner consciousness and your behaviour, is to light the lamp of the Name of the Lord on your tongue. Take the Lord’s Name; His light will drive out darkness from both inside and outside. Keep the lamp shining, bright and clear, for ever. You will soon reach remarkable heights and enjoy happiness, the like of which you cannot get by sticking to the senses.

As Baba Says, devotion and love are inseparable and interrelated.
Through Bhakthi one can attain the salvation. Love and affection
towards the Supreme Power is known as Bhakthi. Bhakthi is nothing
but complete concentration of the mind on the Supreme Power and
experiencing oneness with HIM through Bhajans, Prayers, Worship, etc.
Normally, devotees offer worship to the Supreme Power regularly,
by reciting His name through Namasangeerthanam also to express their
Bhakthi. A true devotee is one who understands the truth and do not
get upset over the happenings. Nevertheless, he concentrates on the
Supreme Power to realise HIS Divine Power. Some undertakes
activities like Japa besides meditation and dedicate all his actions
towards the Supreme Power. However, here one has to control the
thoughts and concentrate the mind on HIM.

The gods once imagined that they were able to get victory over the demons because of their own prowess. When they were celebrating the victory, a deity appeared before them and cast a blade of grass on the ground. It asked Agni (God of fire) to burn it; but he could not. It challenged Vayu (God of Air) to lift it, but he could not. It provoked Varuna (God of Water) to wet it, but, in spite of his best efforts, he could not. Then when their pride had been pricked, the deity taught them the Brahma Vidya (science of Brahman), which reveals the inner source of all strength. This is no ordinary story; Agni is the presiding deity of vaak (speech) and so it tells us that speech has to be humble, that it derives its power only from the basic Universal Principle. Vaayu is prana (the vital air). Humility in behaviour and practice are all that count, especially in Sadhana.
