What the world needs is more hard work, done in a spirit of sacrifice, of relinquishing one’s personal comforts to make others happy. Spiritual aspects can be divided in two ways i.e. one is scriptures and the
other is one actual practice. The scriptures enable us to get to know about
the Supreme Power, Hell, Heaven, etc. As we say and mention that some
fruits are really tasty and we search for that to eat. Similarly, the practical
aspect of spirituality also is identical or similar to that. When we taste the real
fruits, we enjoy and become happy. Like that we have plenty of scriptures.
Some give us certain guidelines or doctrines as to how to follow them and seek
the blessings of the Supreme Power. If we go through our ancient records,
we can find many examples. Sages, Saints have worked on these lines and
enjoyed the vicinity of Supreme Power. Although our feelings tell us about those
at frequent intervals, we cannot attain the bliss of the Supreme Powerwithout
faith. It is possible if we open the door of our hearts and mind to love Him
and pray HIM with absolute confidence. Just like Saint Thyagaraja, one has to
be firm in worship and prayers.

Basically, selfishness makes a person sometimes to face miseries
and unanticipated problems. One has to constantly strive towards
the Divine Power to attain the bliss. One has to have a quest and
search for the divine activities in a Satsang to reach the Supreme
Power. Besides, sensual pleasures have to be kept away. One has
to come out from sensual weaknesses, unwanted desires and mental
restlessness to reach temporary pleasures. One has to have a
balanced mind. Whenever a person does either Japa or meditation,
one has to have balanced mind to maintain concentration and
dedication irrespective of the result of success or failure in the attempt.
Therefore mind discipline is absolutely essential.

This is an episode that happened on the 23rd June, 2013, during the "One with Sai" concert at Brindavan, Whitefield (Bangalore). The timing at which the garland snaps and falls is simply superb and perfect. The compere narrates a brief story of Lord Krishna and says about Bhagawan Baba, "If Swami says cut, then it is cut..." - THE GARLAND CUTS AND FALLS!

Detachment from anything that the mind does not allow is rather difficult.
Unless the outcome is something different and one experiences negative
effect, then the person understands the reality. However, the desire that
prevails in the mind do not get easily get detached irrespective of the materialisation
and it thinks of attempting again and again. Attachment to any thing or any one
turns into love and affection beyond any doubt. Sometimes the conscious ignites
and the faith slowly allows to get detached oneself. If the desire permits the mind
to keep away from the prevalent desires, the mind acknowledges its absence in
one's life. At times, even if the outcome is certain whether positive or negative,
then the desire becomes a choice of a person. One chooses for it knowingly.
Here comes the persons free will to choose without knowing the reality. If
a person gets detached from such things, he/she will feel more powerful, determined
and clear in one's thoughts. Some feel powerless if gets detached.

Liberation is attained when the Soul shines in its own divinity. Liberation is not a nation or a suburb in paradise where aristocratic residents secure good sites. Liberation is the condition of one who has shed delusion. Shed delusion, then grief will be destroyed and joy established. Removal of Grief (Dukha-Nivrithi) and Attainment of Bliss (Ananda-Prapthi), happen at the same time. Your mind is the villain, its other name is desire! When you pull out all the yarn from a piece of cloth, there is no cloth. So too, pull out all the desires from the mind; the mind disappears and you attain freedom! Grief and joy are the obverse and reverse of the same experience. Joy is when grief ends, grief is when joy ends. Just as you must set the table for two when you invite a blind person for dinner (the blind person and his/her companion), so too, grief and joy are inseparable.

Once a dog came to Sri Rama bleeding from blows. Lakshmana was sent to inquire why it had to receive such blows. The dog said: "I was beaten by a brahmin with a stick." The brahmin was questioned. He said that the dog always was annoying him by coming across his path. Rama asked the dog: "Well, how do you want to punish the brahmin?" The dog said: "Make him a manager of a temple." Rama replied with wonder: "That would be a reward not a punishment." The dog said: "No, I was a manager of a temple in my previous birth. It was impossible not to mishandle or misuse or misappropriate some fraction of God's money. When he is that manager, he too will get like me this canine birth and perhaps get beaten too in his subsequent birth."
In fact, not only the dog or the brahmin, but every one of (us) are lining off the property of God, for does not all this belong to Him? What do we do in return for all benefits we derive from the property of the Lord? We should not simply eat and sit quiet. We have to render service to the poor and the helpless in a manner suitable to us.
* * *
It was darshan time in Prasanthi Nilayam on 25th February 1990. Bhagawan was slowly walking in front of the lines of ladies. There was hushed silence.

Suddenly an old Gorkha lady stood up in the back row. Oblivious to all the raised eyebrows and raised hands to make her sit down, she walked slowly towards Bhagawan as if she had all the time in the world. Swami, knowing the devotion of the old lady, paused with a flicker of a smile. She approached Him, as if she had a prior appointment. Slowly she bent down to offer a Padanamaskar and without hurry got up. Without even looking at Bhagawan she turned round in slow motion, while thousands of devotees watched in wonder and surprise. Without any sign of emotion, with steady and unhurried steps, she walked back to her place and sat down.
Watching her I recalled how during World War II Rifleman Agam Bahadur Rai had won a Victoria Cross. He got out of his trench, walked unhurriedly to within 35 yards of a fire spitting Japanese tank, took a deliberate aim with his anti-tank rifle and blew it up. And then equally slowly he turned around and walked back to his trench. He had been taught that 35 yards was the best range for a guaranteed destruction of a tank! A Gorkha does what he feels is his dharma.

http://divinity.in/blog/2012/10/24/mantra-yoga-importance-of-the-primal-sound/

Normally we find in the entire Universe, a special power by chanting Namasmaranam of
the Supreme Power. If continuously practiced, one can come out of problems of life.
This is not possible unless the human mind is dedicated towards that. We can find
traditionally that this has been practiced by our Sages and Saints in our religion. If a
person follows sincerely the known/drawn spiritual path by our elders, either through
our wellknown scriptures or literature in this direction so as to recognize the power
of the divine power. If it is regularly practiced, it influences the mind and heart and
enables to move towards the divine activity in a coordinated manner. It is not simple
unless one repeats as many times as possible with the key sounds of rhythem
and proper pronunciation of words that can dramatically bring a change not only in
the insight of the person and it also brings abnormal spiritual energy within him/her.

Mantras have to be chanted very clearly in a traditional way. The sacred approach
brings abnormal change in the whole of life and consciousness.

No doubt, achieving true devotion is very difficult. But, then one has to think of
Lord Rama or Krishna and starts repeating the Nama of Rama or Krishna. If one
repeats keeping a picture of Lord Rama in front of him, mentally, the senses which
are wandering outside will slowly gets withdrawn. Once a person's eye is on the
object i.e. the picture of Lord Rama, though the ears run to various sounds, slowly
gets to the object. Suppose if a person repeats Ram, Ram louder, the ears could
hear only the sound of Lord Rama. This enables the inner eye to see the Lord Rama's
picture. Now the mind too gets involved and starts concentrating on Lord Rama.
With this, the devotee would slowly come away from the picture as the picture is
formed in the mind rather than the object in front of him/her. One can do Pranayam
too to get devotional power. The pranayamam gives strength to the senses.
If one practices daily and withdraws from the Pranayamam and try to concentrate,
the senses may not get outside the topic of interest. The senses slowly gets absorbed
in the mind with concentration and regular practice.. Daily practice is essential to
attain the devotional power.

Truly speaking, the farmers are holy ones, for they bend under the weight of the service they do. With hands raised in prayer, they toil night and day, converting dust and dirt into nourishing harvest of grain for all people to feed on. Similarly, the Lord will be very pleased with the harvest of virtues, for it also truly sustains the world. Embark on this holy task from today and make the fruits of your efforts very sacred! Worry and grief will always be there – something or the other from the past, present or future will bother you whether you are awake or asleep. Do not give up your worldly duties, but do them with the Name of the Lord on your lips, inviting the grace of God with gratitude. Then worry and grief will vanish and you will have peace! Also do not involve yourself in the affairs of others and get so entangled that you cannot extricate yourself.

Sometimes I have to take on these illnesses. This happens to all Avatars. It happened to the Shirdi Avatar and the Krishna Avatar. Though all these are not recorded, all incarnations have taken over the sufferings of devotees. God does His duty, whether it is recorded or not. I am ready to take on the sufferings of anyone, when they cannot bear it. I am ready, ready, and ever-ready for this.
