Here the two cute little bunnies have been replaced by a gentle GIANT!!!

He is as big as a dog and is heavier than my grandchildren!!!

When he lies flat, his body spreads out like a flap or carpet around him.

He would eat anything and in any amounts in his earlier home.

Now his food is rationed except for green grass and water.

So when I had come a month earlier, he could hardly move around and

his feet would skid under his own weight on the smooth tiles of the floor.

Now he has trimmed down a lot and become more agile.

He does discuss throw with his salad plate,

javelin throw with the sticks given for him to play with

and does lung jump, high jump and the combination of these two to my amazement.

So the drastic cut on rich food helps not just human beings but also animals!!! :)

Nature abhors vacuum of any kind...
of place, time, persons and things
and let us not forget 'problems'.

Create some space by rearranging things
and immediately it will be taken up another thing.

Get a few free hours of free time and
immediately an unplanned work
will surface and absorb that time.

Have more persons to help you in the house and
presto more work for everyone will create itself!!!

I am sure there is an Atma in everything around us
and they are watching us and waiting for
the most opportune moment!

Not just that !!!
They communicate among themselves
and decide on their importance and urgency !!!

The Tale of Echo

A Greek Myth

Hera, the Queen of Mt. Olympus, cast a spell over her servant Echo for talking too much. As a punishment, Echo could henceforth only repeat what someone else said.

Poor Echo! She was in love with handsome Narcissus, and yearned to tell him so! One day Echo saw Narcissus admiring himself in a clear pond. Looking at his reflection, he vainly said to the face in the water, "I love you."

Echo repeated, "I love you," and meant it. But Narcissus thought it was his reflection that spoke and stood gazing at himself until he died and Hermes led him away to the Land of the Dead.

Echo pined for him till she, too, faded away. All that was left of her was her voice that can still be heard in certain hollow places, senselessly repeating the words of others.

The dentist was repeating every comment and every word twice.
When the patient was free to talk he asked,
"Doctor! Why did you have to speak all your words twice?"
The dentist replied nonchalantly,
'"I spoke only once! The second one was the echo!" :faint:

For most people the time they spend on a dentist's chair is a regular nightmare.

Not for me. In fact I feel really relaxed and go to ZZZ land the moment I sit on it.

The dentist will have to wake me up after the elaborate treatment is over !!!

If I could afford I will buy one for my regular use!

But it is ONLY USD 5999!!!

Converted into Indian rupees it will cover two round trips to USA for two persons!!! :faint:

I also join Visa mami to wish one and all here and hope everyone has a good Vinayaka Chathurthi. Hoping to eat lots of modakam tomorrow :)

Benefits of knowing Sanskrit:

In a patient's record in a clinic sometimes doctors do write some stuff in code form about some patients so that we do not have to ask patient's again and again the same stuff when they come.

For example for a patient who is married without children sometimes we would like to make a note of it in our record... but writing in English has drawbacks since the nurses can read it or the patient themselves might read what doctor has written on the record cos at times when card is left at doctors table sometimes patients do steal a glance.

So I only write in Sanskrit what I want to note about the patient..for example:

I write: Married more than 10 years and not having children

Patient is a divorcee.

Married and has 2 children.

HIV Positive(write in Devanagari script)
Hepatitis B positive

If patient is a North Indian and the patient might know Devanagari script I will write in Sanskrit using Tamil Font.

Sometimes for patients who do not pay up their fees well I also make a note that "Becareful..does not pay fees" in Sanskrit.

My staff sometimes ask me what I write.

I say just tell them it's some medical stuff in Greek and Latin(they have no idea how Greek and Latin looks like so I can get away with lying!LOL)

Wish You All A Very Happy Vinayaka Chathurthi..

Even Goddess Parvathi, to beget the son Lord Ganesha, did hard penance by making
an idol of Lord Ganapthy with turmeric powder. It is how Lord Ganesha was born on the
fourth day of bright fortnight of Purattasi month. That is how even now, whenever we
start any pooja, we start an idol of Lord Ganesha with Turmeric Powder. In India, Ganesh
Pooja is celebrated for a week long in North India. In South India, Lord Ganesha idols
are made in clay and worshipped and after a week it is immersed in sea or a tank or river.
Devotees believe that by doing Pooja, their queries are answered. Hence all over the world,
during Vinayaka chathurthi, Lord Ganesh idols of all shapes and sizes are decorated and worshiped.

இந்திரன் வென்றான் அசுரரைப் போரில்;

தானும் தவக் கோலத்தில் அமர்ந்தாள்;

Maagadar and Vibudai.

Indra defeated the asura king. He became very sad. He went to his kulaguru and asked for a plan to regain the lost glory.

Guru replied to him,”Rishi Maagadar is doing penance. Send a beautiful asura kanya to beget a son through him. The son born to the rushi will take your race to new heights of glory”

Vibuda was a pretty asura kanya. She was selected for the task. She was sent with instruction to disturb the rushi’s penance and beget a son. Vibuda was deeply impressed by the very sight of the rushi. She did not dare to disturb his penance. She became a tapasvini and sat right in front of the rishi for doing tapas.

The elephant faced asuran.

A male elephant and a female elephant were playing amorously. Maagadar saw it and his mind was filled with lust. He was very happy see the tapasvini sitting in front of him. He approached her and she was only too happy to welcome him – since her job would become much easier.

Both of them took the form of elephants and made love. An elephant faced asuran was born. More asuras were born out of the body hairs of the female elephant. Both the mother and the father elephants got frightened to see this and ran away.

They regained their original form and their original intelligence returned along with their original form. The rushi demanded to know all about the girl whom he had made love to. The asura kanya spoke the truth and rushi became very sad indeed. He resumed his intense tapas. Vibuda returned to her place. The asura king was very happy to know the developments.
