In addition to causing trauma to many unfortunate ladies who were raped! :mad2:

Jat stir cost Pune railway division Rs one crore

The Jat quota stir, which crippled transport in much of northern state of Haryana, has also taken a toll on the revenue of Pune Division of the Indian Railways. According to officials with the commercial department of Pune Division, it may have lost a revenue of about Rs 1 crore due to cancellation of North-bound trains in the last 10 days during which the agitators blocked train tracks. Gaurav Jha, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Pune Division, said the Railways had to refund a total of Rs 71 lakh to passengers who had booked tickets in trains such as Jhelum Express and Goa Express as the trains did not ply.
The loss to the Railways is nothing compared to the agony of unfortunate ladies who were raped.

Whether it was due to El Nino or La Nina, the recent Chennai flood was a deluge without a doubt! :fear:

Local factors, not global, behind rains in Chennai, Kashmir

The opposite of El Nino, a condition called La Nina, is known to aid the monsoon rainfall. Global warming is also expected to increase the moisture-holding capacity of the atmosphere, thereby leading to more intense, heavy rains.

The unprecedented rain in Tamilnadu might be due to La Nina; but the unprecedented Chennai flood was due to lethargic and casual attitude of the Government!!

YEARS or rather decades of converting lakes and drainage areas into
concrete jungles of flats and apartments is the main cause.

The existing portions of the lakes were too shallow to hold any water.

Nature aka as God gives a very long and lenient rope before it moves in to strike hard and harsh!

I do not know about the liquor bottles. But sanitary napkins is a regular rip-off in the monthly maintenance expenses of most

of the apartment complexes. One nitwit will try to flush the pad and the whole wing will suffer from a blockage and leakage!

Giving in to pressure does not solve any problem.
It will escalate the problem since more people will start demanding for more things -
whether or not it is possible to get them those .
