Think or sink!

A tiny poem to celebrate this great occasion!

As you walk across
Always carry a rock!

Knotted in an old sock
Or tied in a tiny sack!

It really matters not
Whether indeed or not

You carry a water pot
On you head so hot!

Was Krishna not a human being and ultimately attained eternal bliss? Why should a God (Lord Shiva) need a son or daughter? If the God wants, he can create thru others like what he did in the case of Krishna.

Dear Sir,
God does everything by the sankapla shakti and NOT as we do things physically.
You may read Kanda puraanam to know how Murugan emerged from the fiery third eye oF Siva. Vigneswara was created out of the snaanap podi used by Devi by her sankapla shakthi.
Later He appeared in many more forms and was given many new names!

My post # 15544 has a question addressed to Smt. Visalakshi Madam. The question has its roots in a certain post that she made in this forum about Rameswaram. I wait for an answer.

I reproduce the question for convenience as it might be forgotten in the deluge of inane posts that followed. Just an answer please:

Valmiki Ramayana and Kambaramayana are the authoritative texts from which know the history of Rama and his times. Where in these texts is the incidence of Rama worshiping Siva at Rameswaram described? Please give the precise reference.

Thank you Visalakshi Madam.

Even though the question http://www.tamilbrahmins.com/showthread.php?t=10713&p=302320#post302320 (repeated earlier http://www.tamilbrahmins.com/showthread.php?t=10713&p=302260#post302260 ) was posed to Smt. Visalakshmi Ramani (who is capable of holding her own fort), I am hoping that my response will/may be beneficial to many/a few/some/none. (and allow Smt Visalakshi Ramani to continue her translations of Puranas in accessible Tamil)

1) There are more than a few Ramayana texts/puranas in existence including Valmiki, kamban, Arunacala Kavi. Please see this http://www.quora.com/What-are-the-differences-between-the-different-versions-of-Ramayana and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versions_of_Ramayana http://ramayanainfo.blogspot.in/2009/12/ramayana-versions-in-different.html
(There are verses duplicated in Vaklmiki Ramayana and there is a verse that is both in Mahabhrata (vidur niti and Ramayana ) -

2) In Tulsidas Ramcharit Manas Lanka Kand, it is mentioned that Shri Rama worshipped Shiva

I am tongue tied by seeing a saviour for the first time in my entire life.

It has always been "V.R can take care of herself.Let us watch the fun/ fight!"

The attempts to make me feel as lonely in a crowd as Draupadi was done in

Duryodhan's durbar is non ending. From Tsunami to ****** the aim is just the

same "Destroy the mortal enemy who is wasting her time, ruining her health

and eyesight to enrich a place which will never ever treat her the way she

deserves to be!"

God appears in many forms. Today he has appeared in Prof M.S.K's form.

My faith in these two sterling statements have now been redoubled.

1. All great men are humble. 2. All great things are simple.

As for my faith in God it is unshakable already.

I join hands with you dear Professor in remaining humble and simple always

...come what may!

"katrOraik katrOrE kaamuruvar. matror tham vayiRu erivar!" :pray2:

According to a legend, while returning to Ayodhya, Rama worshipped Lord Shiva in the form of a Shiva Lingam made out of earth by Sita.

It is said that Hanuman was entrusted with the task of bringing an image of Viswanathar from Benaras.

Due to the delay in Hanuman’s return from Benaras, Rama offered worship to a Shivalingam made by Sita at the auspicious moment. Ramalingam and the town Rameshwaram were thus born.

There is yet another Shivalingam here said to have been brought by Hanuman from Benaras. This Shivalingam is referred to as Kasilingam and Hanumalingam.

Prayers are offered to Viswanathar brought by Hanuman, before they are offered to Ramanathaswamy mde by Sita.

The many choices life offers us!

When someone is blocking our way, we can deal with it in

one of these three methods.

Hurl/ swirl/ throw something on the person!:brick:

This in turn offers three choices for each of these options.

Hurl / swirl/ throw the person

ON something( ground/ rock /road)

IN something (river/ water/ mud)

OR under something( speeding vehicle/ parked vehicle)

So the combined number of options becomes

a whooping 3x (3 + 3+ 3) = 27!

Yet we grumble that life is without any choice!

The hurl / swirl/ throw technique requires a special skill!

The ability to pick up a rock without spilling the precious gargo

you may carrying on you shoulder / head/ arms.

The combined nine options require physical contact unless

one has come well prepared with an uruttuk kattai.

In that case no need to bend down and pick the stones.

Nor is there any need to touch the person and become more

impure because of the physical contact.

Additionl advantage is the new modified name of

Thadiyaar instead of Adiyaar.

Just imagine the fear, the awe and the respect the name and

the divyaayudham will draw from everyone on the road!

What more can we ask for friends?

What happens when two jumbos join together to give a dance performance on the eve of a New Moon Day?

If they still find themselves on the ground - after the plaster stops falling from all around, they may hold on to each other jumbo ears and do Dhorbikarnam - causing ecstacy in the MINDS OF THE onlookers!

I must have guessed it yesterday itself.
It was too much of a coincidence.
New Moon Day and its Eve have strange effects on some people.
We can imagine the effects by knowing the cause.
We can trace back to the cause after seeing the effects
It works both ways!

Dear Sis,

You might not know that a member posted an image saying 'edudA andha uruttuk kattaiya', soon after seeing my comment
in a thread he had started! :brick:

Now, there is a request for a new feature to 'Block certain members' from posting, by the OP of any thread ! idea, right?

Dear Raji,
I really do not know what you are talking about.
MANAGING MY OWN BLOGS AND THREADS
and surviving the constants mindless attacks
had kept me in the dark about that
honorable member and the new feature.
What do you think of people who pamper
the vicious and venemous jumbos
by singing and doing kummi around them
everyday- knowing well they do not deserve it?

The original story teller was Valmiki. If he has mentioned about Rama worshipping Siva please quote and give me the reference. All others including Wiki are cock and bull stories spun by interested individuals to suit their tastes and requirements. Tulsi das included. Kamban i ncluded. Kamban has added spice in some places because he wrote down the translated version for the Tamil public. That does not make it authentic. The Sadayappa vallal did not go to Ayodhya and present on the occasion of the Pattabhishekam of SriRama. But Kamban added it as his thanks giving to Sadayappa for the help he rendered for the writing up of the Kambaramayana.

So the truth is that Rama did not offer any worship to Siva at Rameswaram. I have nothing against Siva or saivites. I am for the truth to be told.

The rest of the stories are cock and bull and Paatti kathais. They wont stand scrutiny as proof. Period.

I am waiting for Visalakshi Madam giving the evidence from Valmiki for her authoritative assertion that Rama did indeed worship Siva at Rameswaram. If the required evidence is not forthcoming by tomorrow I will conclude that she has nothing to offer other than the cock and bull stories to support her contention.

Won't giving a warm send off to him be easier than introducing this new feature???.
As Dr K.R.S used to emphasise all the time, we all are guests in a big house.
No one has any right to bully or taunt anyone else and definitrly NOT for minding her own business.

RRji,

The idea is a bad idea. The space here belongs to the Owner of the site Mr. Praveen. Any one starting a thread is starting it as a bulletin stuck to a bulletin board inviting comments/replies. Once stuck on the bulletin board it is in the public domain and comments will be there. And comments need not be just accolades. There will be critical comments too depending on the contents of the OP. This position has been clarified by Sri Praveen earlier too.

Those who are sensitive to comments should tell cock and bull stories to their young grandchildren and stop with it.

Dear Vaagmi Sir,

When a member takes my normal comments as 'sarcastic', you fail to 'see' the real sarcasm in my writing - ' idea, right?'

Please see my replies to Sri. Praveen in the new thread and try to understand my views about members' comments! :)

BTW, my comment got 'posted' in a thread in which I expected a

P.S: I keep  always and will not stop my comments, till I am 'kicking in forum'! :typing:

Dear venerable gentleman!
I do not owe anything to anyone here and certainly not to you!
I do not need your certificates of merit since you do not possess the merit to issue one.
I know who you are and what all you have done to find my whereabouts
or at least phone number by several subtle and sly lies and methods.
I just pretend not to know you since I have some culture and good sense left in me.
Do not bring forth your own annnihilation as you have done several times before
making it necessary to take the next avatar again and again and again.
Going back to ZERO everytime and srarting the life afresh is foolish.
If you decide to cross my path again you will become invisible to me.
Not because you are transparent but because you don't exist for me. Got it Sir?
It is not just me. Everyone here knows who were before you took this avatar.

Dear venerable gentlewoman!

I will not take anything from you even if offered! LOL.

I do not issue certificates and I will not issue one to you.

It appears you have a lot of time to spare and have done some research to know who I am. I am eager to know your findings. Just to start, please tell me my name, place of residence and age. that will be a good starting point for you to assess your success in your efforts. I do not mind your making it public here in the forum. Please reveal my identity. i would request Sri Praveen to allow you do that.

What is the use of knowing your phone number. This is the biggest joke I have heard these days. And your whereabouts? What use is it for me? It appears you need to consult a good psychiatrist. You suffer from some kind of a phobia. Please get treated. Mr. Praveen can certify my point that I am innocent. That I do not waste time on such silly pursuits by hacking his system.

Lo. So you only pretend not to know me. Please tell the members here my name and address so that they can visit me and counsel.

It is interesting to know that you can annihilate me. I have done military service. I know how to defend myself. Please do try to annihilate. A good joke. I enjoyed it.

So you are counting my avatars. Please fo heaven's sake let me know which was my fifth avatar because I have lost count. Please help me.

Your making me invisible to you is not the solution. Because you know there is somebody in this forum who tells openly when you come here and tell a lie.

And the question stays. Please tell me just this. Where in Valmiki Ramayana is the reference to Rama worshipping Siva at Rameswaram. This question will haunt you for ever because you committed a mistake by telling a lie.

I will continue to read your posts to question you when you tell another lie.

I never get angry and I always measure my words.

visalakshi madam,

your post #15573 for reference:

You have made serious allegations in your post. 1. That I stalked you 2. That it is my habit to take several avatars to come here into the forum 3. You have culture and I lack it.

You have further threatened me with annihilation.

Now please apologise for this outburst or I intend to seriuously take up and follow up this matter with the owner of this forum. I expect a reply from you today in another one hour.
