( Play school kids' level. They keep saying "My dad is better than your dad")

(But there is ONLY one God!)

3. My forehead marking is better than anything else.
(Since it is vertical it will carry everyone directly upwards to Heaven or Parama Patham in the express lane)

4. My puja is superior to that of anyone else.
(God accepts even the puja done by a spider, a snake and an elephant in their own style)

5. My book of gospels is superior to any other book.
(So the whole world or at least the whole nation must read it)

6. My holy places are holier than that of any other religion.
(So everyone must visit only them and none else)

Some of the many undeclared statements but which are being conveyed vehemently with or without words all the time.

Renukaji,

It could be static electricity. Check your dress. You may be wearing a dress (wool, pure synthetic fibre etc.,)which accumulates static electric charge and discharges it on the equipment you pass by. Other incidents like car going of etc., may be just coincidence.
 
Anbe Sivam states that Love is god and God is love.
If a man cann't love or even tolerate another living man,
how will be capable of loving the God who he may never be able to see.

Deivam resides in every living creature...
be it a worm, a bird, an animal or a human.
God is not confined to Heaven.
 
Adi Sankara, in his interpretation of the name Shiva, the 27th and the 600th name in Vishnu sahasranama - the thousand names of Vishnu - interprets Shiva to have multiple meanings:

"The Pure One", or "the One who is not affected by three Gunas of Prakrti (Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas)" or "the One who purifies everyone by the very utterance of His name."

Swami Chinmayananda, in his translation of Vishnu sahasranama, further elaborates on that verse:

Shiva means "the One who is eternally pure" or "the One who can never have any contamination of the imperfection of Rajas and Tamas".

Shiva's role as the primary deity of Shaivism is reflected in his epithets Mahādeva ("The Great god"; mahā ="Great" and
deva ="god"),Maheśvara ("Great Lord"; mahā ="great" and īśvara ="lord"),and Parameśvara (" The Supreme Lord").

There are at least eight different versions of the Shiva Sahasranama, devotional hymns (stotras) listing many names of Shiva.

The version appearing in Book 13 (Anuśāsanaparvan) of the Mahabharata is considered the kernel of this tradition.

Shiva also has Dasha-Sahasranamas (10,000 names) that are found in the Mahanyasa.

The Shri Rudram Chamakam, also known as the Śatarudriya, is a devotional hymn to Shiva hailing him by many names.

The Dasa sahasra naamaa might become Ekaadasa shasranaama
if we add to it all the titles and names confered on Siva with great affection by the people who would shudder to utter the very syllables occuring in His name. :sad:

May be Ekaadasa sahasranaamaa will suit the Ekaadasa Rudras better than the Dasa sahasranaamaa! :(

The Most Supreme God ( as claimed by the Vaishnavas) Krishna himself sought the boon of getting children from Lord Siva. Krishna was later blessed with ten children out of each wedlock.
But the funny thing is that no one was able to change the story or twist the names and words in tryig to prove that Krishna never worshiped Lord Siva
as they could twist the name Ramanaathan.

சென்றான் துவாரகை ஜராசந்தனுக்கு அஞ்சி!


களவாடினான் ருக்மிணியைச் சுயம்வரத்தில்;
களவாடப் பட்ட மகனை எண்ணிக் கலங்கினான்!

சத்தியபாமை ஏவப் போரிட்டான் தேவர்களுடன்;
சத்யபாமை மகிழக் கவர்ந்தான் கற்பகத் தருவை!

தானம் செய்தாள் அவனை அவள் நாரதனுக்கு
தனம் தந்து மீட்டாள் அவனை சத்யபாமை!

ஜாம்பவதி வேண்டினாள் சத்புத்திரன் ஒருவனை!
சம்புவைக் குறித்துத் தவம் செய்தான் கண்ணன்.

தீக்ஷா குருவானார் உபமன்யு முனிவர் – கண்ணன்
தீக்ஷையில் ஆழ்ந்துவிட்டான் சிவ தியானத்தில்.

ஆறு மாதம் தொடர்ந்த தவத்தை மெச்சி சிவன்
ஆரவார தரிசனம் தந்தான் பரிவாரங்களுடன்.

“முக்தி தரும் நாதன் உம்மிடம் கோரிய வரமாக
முக்தியைக் கேட்க முடியவில்லையே ஈசா!

புத்திர வரமே கேட்கின்றேன் பிறரைப் போல;
புத்திரனை விழைகின்றாள் ஜாம்பவதி !” எனச்

சிரித்துக் கொண்டே சொன்னான் சிவபிரான்,
“புரிவாய் திருமணம் பல பத்தினிகளுடன்;

பெறுவாய் தலா பத்துப் பத்துப் புத்திரர்கள்!”
கூறினாள் பார்வதி கண்ணனை நோக்கி,

“வளர்ந்து வாழும் குலம் நூறு ஆண்டுகள்;
தளர்ந்து வீழும் பின் பிராமண சாபத்தால்!”

“அழிவர் உன் சந்ததியர் தமக்குள் போரிட்டு,
அழிவார்கள் யாதவர்களும் அவ்விதமே!

தடைபடாது நடப்பவை என்று நீ அறிவாய்
நடப்பவை உள்ளன என் வசமே!” என்றாள்.

மறைந்துருளினர் பரிவரங்களுடன் – அவர்கள்
குறைவற்ற தரிசனமும், வரமும் தந்த பின்பு.

மாயையின் கைகளில் மரப் பொம்மைகள் நாம்.
மாயை விளையாடுகின்றாள் ஜீவராசிகளுடன்.

படைக்கின்றாள் அவரவர் முன்வினைக்கு ஏற்ப;
படைக்காவிட்டால் உலகம் இருக்கும் ஜடமாக!

சுரர்கள், அசுரர்கள். பறவைகள், விலங்குகள்;
பிரபஞ்சம் முழுவதும் அவள் வசப்பட்டவை.

வணங்குவாய் புவனத்தின் தாயை பக்தியோடு;
பிணங்குவாய் குல தெய்வம் தொழாதவரோடு.

தேவி மயமானவன் நான்; வேறானவன் அல்லன்;
தேவி அருளால் துக்கம் என்பது இல்லை எனக்கு!

பந்தத்தை விடுத்து மோக்ஷம் அடையலாம்
சந்ததம் தேவியை ஆத்மரூபமாக தியானித்து!

முப்பெரும் தேவரும் வணங்குகிறார் தேவியை!
இப்போது தீர்ந்தனவா உன் ஐயங்கள் எல்லாம்?

தியானம் செய்து வா தேவியை இடைவிடாது,
தீரும் சகல பாவங்களும் தேவி தியானத்தில்!”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி

இத்துடன் வியாசரின் தேவி பாகவதத்தின்
நான்காவது ஸ்கந்தம் நிறைவு பெறுகிறது.

Choice of the path depends on the gunap prabhaavam of the individual.

Greeks like muscular and bearded macho gods with 6/8 abs,
while Indians prefer feminine gods, never ever older than 16.

Men like to use the power of their choice!

To my surprise one of the receptionists in the Eye clinic told me "You are cute!"

I was taken by surprise since the girl who told me this was herself fair, lean, tall and extremey pretty.

I was wondering what made her tell me these words.

It is my habit to look out for unusual persons/ events and happenings wherever I may be. So I glanced around at the people in the room.

Every woman had a tight/ reserved face with not even a trace of a smile.
Their eyes brows were tensed, face scowled as if they were carrying the burden of the entire world.
Then it dawned on me! Seen in this background any Face with a smile will appear very cute indeed!

The faces of all new born babies are almost identical but for the prominent fetures of their race. But as people grow older they become very different by developing crow's feet and laugh lines or scowls depending on their mental attitude.
 
He was not only not allowed to go near the temple,he was not even allowed to walk in the streets of Sri Rangam freely.

Biased understanding and far from truth . Azhwar was himself reluctant to walk on the streets of Srirangam because his religious fervor was such that he considered Srirangam as Boologa Vaikuntam and he did not want to walk on the streets as he considered it a blasphemy for a panchaman to walk on the streets of Boologa Vaikuntam. That was the kind of society at that time. His shunning Srirangam was voluntary. That is why he stood every day on the other side of Kavery and sang about Ranganatha taking care not to cross Kavery. The attempt to make a political document out of the event by adding a few Zindabad may make it spicy but highly obnoxious. Uvvey!!

The terrible crime committed by the Aazhvaar which caused this attack was just singing the praise of his ishta Deivam Sri Ranaganaathan, while being lost to the external world.

Again an attempt at a zindabad/murdabad. The azhwar was not alone in the world singing. He was standing on the way of people and he was woken up by a wrong method. That was all to it.

God had to bear the wound in His forehead and bleed, to drive home the point into the minds of the so called high caste Vaishna priest, the greatnes of the simple minded devotee PaaNaan.

So Vishnu was broad minded and took the blow received by his innocent devotee on himself to teach a lesson to his other devotees. But look at the other God who transferred the blow he received from a cane to his bhaktha and his family members (pittukku man sumantha kathai-Thiruvilaiyadal puranam). Vaishnavas worship the God who is simply Gr8 while others do not know where to go and hang their face.

Later God ordered the priest to make PaaNan enter his temple and the PaaNan merged with God just as Andal had done.

Let us give the benefit of doubt and assume that Azhwaar stayed off the streets of Sri Ranagm by his own personal choice.

If Thirup Paanaazhwaar was standing on the other bank of The River Kavery, how could he have been in the path / way of everyone else?

Could The River Kavery been accessed ONLY by a single lane at that time?

Was the Azhwar occupying the ONLY spot on entry???

Nothing can sound stanger than this statement.

Throwing a stone, breaking a man's forehead and causing a bleeding injury is labelled as just a 'wrong method'.

It becomes even more wrong when performed by a Sri Vasihnana - nearest to the deity in the Bhooloka Vaikuntham.

Vaikumtam is the real / imaginary place where there are no vikuntas or crooked minds. How well the priest was living upto this name is proved by his loving action on the Azhwaar.

Pittu+ maN + pirambadi was to teach a lesson to the arrogant king and his retinue for hitting the Lord in dusguise.

It was a RUDE awakening which all those pompous people rightfully deserved at that time.

God in Sri Rangam could have caused rude awakening in all the holy priests - by transefering the blow and the blood to all the holy priests.

But He knew that thier love for Him was greater than anything else. So just to make them suffer more intensely God tranfered the blow on Himself.

A man - let him belong to any religion/ race/ country - who can not see the presence of God in another living thing is not a human - however great his intense love for his personal favorite God may be.

When this intense love towards any particular person /God is accompanied by the intense hatred to everyone else, it is not real love. It is just a wild passion under the guise of love.

True Love embraces everything and everyone in its infinite arms uncontionally. That is why it is so rare to find it. What we see everyday everywhere is the Raagaa mixed with Dweshaa.

When a devotee was the victim of a wrongful action, God blessed him with

saayujyam. When God himself was the victim why would He give saayujyam to

வைகை ஆற்றில் பெரும் வெள்ளம்!
வைகை ஆற்றால் பெரும் துன்பம்!

ஆற்றின் கரையை உயர்த்திவிட்டு
ஆற்றின் வேகத்தைக் குறைக்கவேண்டும்.

குடிப் பெயர்களைக் கணக்கில் எடுத்து,
உடைந்த கரையையும் கணக்கில் எடுத்து,

பங்கு பிரித்தனர் அங்கு காவலர்கள்,
பறை சாற்றின தண்டோராக்கள்.

“வீட்டுக்கு ஒரு ஆள் வரவேண்டும்!
விரைந்து கரையை உயர்த்த வேண்டும்!”

மண்வெட்டிகளுடனும், கூடைகளுடனும்,
மரம் சுமப்பவர்கள், தழை எடுப்பவர் என

விரைந்து வந்தனர், பணியைத் தொடங்கினர்.
கரையோரம் நிறுத்தப்பட்டன நல்ல மரங்கள்,

விரித்துக் கிடத்தினர் வைக்கோல் பிரிகளை,
பரப்பிய தழைகளின் மேல் கொட்டினர் மண்!

ஆத்மார்த்தமாகப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தனர்,
“அடங்க வேண்டும் ஆறு கட்டுக்குள்” என்று!

பறையடித்துப் பரவசம் ஊட்டினர் சிலர்,
குரவையிட்டுக் நல்ல கூத்தாடினர் சிலர்.

தென் கிழக்குப் பகுதில் வசித்திருந்தாள்,
தொண்டுக் கிழவியாகிவிட்ட மூதாட்டி.

ஆயிரம் பிறைகள் கண்டு விட்ட வந்தி,
ஆயினும் கொண்டவள் மாறாத பக்தி.

தவ சீலி, நரை, திரை, மூப்படைந்தவள்;
தனியாள், பிட்டு விற்றுப் பிழைப்பவள்;

அவித்த பிட்டை விற்பனைக்கு முன்னர்
அர்ப்பணிப்பாள் அரன் திருவடிகளுக்கு.

தன் பங்கு மண்ணை நிரப்புவது எப்படி?
தன்னால் முடியாது தள்ளாத வயதில்!

துணை என்று சொல்லிக் கொள்ளவோ,
இணையாகப் பணிபுரியவோ ஆள் இல்லை.

கூலி ஆள் கிடைத்தாலும் போதும்.
கூலி கொடுத்து வேலை வாங்கலாம்.

வேலை முடியாமல் நின்று விட்டால்
வேந்தன் சினம் பாயும் தன் மேல்.

கிழவியின் குமுறல் விழுந்தது செவிகளில்!
அழகிய கூலியாள் அங்கே திருக்கோவிலில்!

அழுக்குப் படிந்த உடைகள், ஒரு மண்வெட்டி,
வழுக்கி விழும் சும்மாடு, ஒரு மண் கூடை.

“கூலிக்கு ஒரு வேலையாள் வேண்டுமா?
கூலியாள் வேண்டுமா?கூலியாள்!கூலியாள்!”

குதூகலம் அடைந்தாள் வந்தி கிழவி.
கூப்பிட்டாள் அந்த அழுக்கு அழகனை!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

“பசி காதை அடிக்கிறது தாயே!
ருசியான உதிர்ந்த பிட்டைத் தா!

உண்டு ஓய்வெடுத்துக் கொண்டு,
கொண்டு கொட்டுவேன் மண்ணை!”

அள்ளித் தந்தாள் வந்திக் கிழவி,
உள்ளன்போடு உதிர்ந்த பிட்டை.

“அருமையாக உள்ளது தாயே!
பெருமானுக்கு உகந்த உணவு!”

களைப்புத் தீர இளைப்பாறினான்;
கரையை அடைக்கச் சென்றான்.

“வந்தியின் கூலியாள் நான் தான்.
வந்ததைக் குறித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்.”

கரையை அடைக்கலானான் அவன்,
கரை என்றுமே அடைபடாத வண்ணம்!

வெட்டி மண்ணைக் கூடையில் போடுவான்,
கொட்டுவான் கீழே மண் அதிக பாரம் என.

சும்மாடு நழுவிக் கீழே, கீழே விழும்!
“அம்மாடி!” என்று எடுத்துக் கட்டுவான்.

களைத்துவிடுவான் இந்த வேடிக்கையில்!
களைப்புத் தீர நல்ல ஒரு குட்டித் தூக்கம்.

அதற்குள் பிள்ளைக்குப் பசி மேலிடும்.
சிதறிய பிட்டை மீண்டும் உண்பான்.

கூடையையும் கொட்டுவான் மண்ணுடன்;
கூடையின் பின் நீந்திச் செல்வான் பிறகு.

ஆட்டம் காட்டினான், விளையாடினான்,
அரசனின் செல்ல மகனைப் போலவே.

கண்காணி மண்கரை அடைபடாததைக்
கண்டு மிகுந்த கோபம் கொண்டான்.

அடுத்த கரையையும் வைகை ஆறு
உடைப்பதைக் கண்டு சீறிச் சினந்தான்.

“வந்தியின் கூலியாள் யார்?” என,
நம்பியைக் காட்டினர் அனைவரும்.

“ஏன் கரையை அடைக்கவில்லை?”
எந்த பதிலுமே கூறவில்லை கூலியாள்.

‘பித்தனா இவன்? சித்தனா? எத்தனா?
இத்தனை அழகான கூலி ஆளா?

அழகும், இவன் அழுக்கு உடைகளும்,
அணுவளவும் பொருந்தவில்லையே!

உடலைப் பார்த்தாலே தெரிகிறது, இவன்
உடலை வளைத்து வேலை செய்தது இல்லை!

கூலியை வாங்கிக் கொண்டுவிட்டானாம்.
கூலி கிடைத்த பின் வேலை செய்வானா?

கேட்டால் மரம் போல நிற்கின்றான்.
கோவலனிடம் சென்று சொல்வோம்!”
