Think or sink!

Two different situations can cause / contribute to depression.

Strangely they are exactly opposite to each other.

One of them is having 'no say' in anything in one's life. :tape:

The other is having one's own way/ say all the time. :hand:

How do these two opposite poles fit in

to produce the same effect???

......No pet is as clean as a cat. ......
Of course, a cat cleans itself often and looks cute. But it sheds lot of hair inside the house! :yuck:

We visited a relative who has two huge cats as pets. Hence all the furniture were covered with cat's hair!

We had to clean our backs (!!) whenever we got up from any sofa or chair, to keep our dress clean! :(

Oops I fotgot that issue.
Once when I just blew my breath behind the flat screen TV,
a heavenly cloud arose giving me a total surprise.
The room got filled with the long hair of the rabbit fur which settled down
everywhere including the eating plates for the next few days! :yuck:

But Renu,
The 'side-effect' only holds together the two separate entities and keep then coonected for a life time. Otherwise life will become meaningless. They will always remain two loose ends be ready to go their own ways sooner or later.
Not getting the children is different from not opting for children :(
May be they feel that children are too much responsibility/ nuisance.

dear VR ji,

I dont think that children keep a couple connected for life..in that case most childless couples would have divorced. Many are living much happier than those who have a trail of children.

Its all the mindset of the couples.

A person might feel that he or she lacks parenting instincts and opt not to have children.

I feel that is better than people who have children with gay abandon and later abandon them.

I personally feel having children is just natures way of continuation of species..but we then glorify ourselves saying we love children!LOL

Dear Renu,

Even animals and insects love and protect their young ones until they are old enough and strong enough to fend for themselves.

You will be amazed to note the extent to which these tiny creatures (with less brain and less thinking power) go in order to protect their young ones.

It is the maternal instinct and not the intellect at work in these creatures. Sadly neither the instinct not the intellect works in some of the human beings.

These are just a few examples. I am sure many more animals carry their young ones on their back or keep them in close proximity for their safety.

The poor and the downtrodden know the value of education.

My maid is a complete illiterate who can read neither numbers nor alphabets in English or even Tamil.

But blelieve it or not. Her elder daughter is a graduate in Bio Technology and her younger daughter an I.T graduate.

The younger one got a job in a good IT company after clearing successfully four levels of selection - one of which was the rapid fire interview in English by four executives.

She has a starting salalry of a five figure number which will be increased after seeing her performance. And there is the annual increment any way.

The maid herself is better looking and better dressed than most of the tenents living here. I bet her daughter will look classy - now that she a job to provide for her needs. :thumb:

And the girl is not going to sit tight on her laurels. The girl plans to continue her higher studies in the nearby Universitiy - which allows part time students to attend the classes during the weekends.
These people are far more advanced than the so called advanced people who try to put an end to the studies and carrier of their brilliant women follks!

There is a saying in Tamil which goes thus:

விரும்பிப் போனால் விலகிப் போகும்.
விலகிப் போனால் விரும்பி வரும்.

I have formulated a similar one after a recent experience.

கிட்டப் போனால் எட்டிப் போகும்.
எட்டிப் போனால் கிட்ட வரும்!

On Aadip pooram day the ladies perform vaLai kaappu for the Devi in the colony temple and distribute the glass bangles as prasadam.

Believe it or not, every year I will get only baby sized bangles since I can't compete with the noisy young crowd throwing themselves on the basket banlges like stranded people on food packets.

I will be the last one to go to the basket to find baby sized bangles which no onw wants.

This year I did not go to the temple for Aadip Pooram. But the right sized bangles (numbering 6!) were brought to me by my good natured and friendly neighbor.

For for the first time in 17 years I got the right sized colorful glass bangles by NOT attending the puja! :)

Good looks perform many miracles.
This beauty appearing above has been called as the Goddess of McDonald's
and draws a crowd like a magnet drawing iron filings, in Taiwan.
She seems to be too young to have got corrupted and looks still innocent.

Oh boy! Am I happy I broke the monotony of a life without any choice -
which demanded the typing of 5 to 10 Naaraayaneeyam slokas and
10 to 15 Thirumanthiram poems every single day!
Today has been different! :dancing:
Everyone needs a break - even me!

First online classes across the globe.

Then skype weddings and funerals.

NOW THIS!!!

If texts can replace real interaction why not

an e vadjhyar replace AN E vadhyar??? :becky:
