Think or sink!

I saw two men clad in white (khadi?) in the clinic.

They were discussing about spinning mills and fancy cars.

But the slang they spoke underlined the fact that they have had no formal

education. Then ooe of the two took out a fancy phone from his pocket.

It operated on touch screen and I wondered how he was going to

make call to anyone if he is unable to read/ write.

He made the photos appear instead of the numbers and he was able to call anyone

without being able to read their names ot their numbers

Now I understand how and why new techniques keep evoling

in everything, everybody uses everyday.

I remember how litlle shy-guy-Varun made a phone call to his mom

who was taking a class in the University by seeing her photo in the contact list.

But it beats how he had learned to switch on the phone and find that page

since he was just 22 months old at that time! :baby:

The touch screen phone does not work for me! :(

Is it due to my electromagnetic body or the

magnetic bracelet and anklets I am wearing? :noidea:

Phooey to the Touch screen phone.

These magntic ornaments help to reduce

the swelling and pain in the major joints!

I need them more than a fancy phone! :decision:

I appreciate this! :clap2:

When the city expands and vAdhyArs find it difficult to travel, why not help on-line?

The learned hubby of one of Ram's nieces, helped to perform yajur upAkarmA through skype, in the U S of A! :thumb:

Dear VR ji,

I made a new type of payasam today.

I thought I would share the recipe since there is no refined sugar in it.

250 ml of milk.

2 tablespoons Chia seeds(can be got in health stores)

2 long bananas

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamon

Dry roasted raisins

Dry roasted cashew nuts.

Soak 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds in 250 ml milk and leave over night in the refrigerator.

Chia seeds swell up and become gel like

The next day..

Mash the 2 bananas and pour in the milk-Chia seed mixture and mix gently.

Heat in a pot over a medium flame..stirring well with a wooden spatula...till mixture starts to bubble a little.

Then add ground cardamoms, raisins and cashew nuts and keep stirring till the mixture leaves the side of the pot..it will be slightly thick.

Add some water if you prefer a watery consistency.

Serve either hot or cold.

It tasted delicious.

Chia seeds is also a fairly good source of protein and has Omega 3 fatty acids which is good for the heart and since bananas and raisins are used..there is no need to add sugar.

Dear Renu,
It sounds deliciously mouth watering and definitely healthy too!
Is it your own formula?
I bet some of our mamas / mamis are going to include Dr. Renu's Chia-Banana-Milk -Payasam in their Onam payasam menu. :)
It is good thing that you gave the recipe now rather than after Onam!

Every bird has a song and every bird sings in a different language.

We have many birds around our colony including some peacoks

which we do not get to see but can hear making a loud unusual noise.

No I am not going to classify it under the songs of the birds!

The shortest bird song is in Malayaalam and goes like "Poovaam?" or "POgaam?"

The other bird song is in Tamil and says "Theriyum! Theriyum!"very confidently.

The longet I hear is in English and goes thus,"I love Kokila! I love Kokila!"

Is it strang that one kokilam loves another kokila?

நல்லார் ஒருவர் உளரேல் எல்லோருக்கும் பெய்யும் மழை!

It rarely rains in Coimbatore.

Either there are no நல்லார் in the city.

Or may be none of us ULarufy in the cool city. :blah:

It is amazing how the plants continue to yield flowers

every single day - rain or no rain.

The little plant growing in between two big tiles on the ground also yields flowers.

The sapling growing on the window sill of a bathroom in the second floor is going to

either the hold the building with its roots or make it crumble it with its roots.

Everywhere everything struggles to keep alive, to grow and produce / reproduce

Nature is adamant and tough no doubt!

Koozhaik kumbidu Pazhanich chaamy!!!

He would lift his hands above his head and shout "maami!" as if I were a "saami"! :)

This was when we used to depend on him for our transportation and would have to part with

our purse to let him take whatever he wants as the Daylight decoity called an auto ride.

Now that we have discovered a smoother streamlined service with lees fare and more comfort,

We have become his mortal enemies and the first two names in his hit list.

He goes about with a big face like the red hot seenchatti.

But does he realize that he was the cause for this change over?

He would not tell us if he were taking another savaari.

He would make us wait in total suspense.

He would cut the phone call in the middle without saying anything.

when we decide that "Enough is enough!" we have become his enemies . Let it be so! :amen:

It is nice of Dr. Renu to have found a formula for
making a yummy payasam without sugar and ghee!! :thumb:

I bet it the best thing one can do to satisfy the
taste buds of people for whom sugar & ghee are :nono:

I pad has its own advantages - provided it does not become an all day activity of the child.

It gives the parents some time to breath and relax and do their own jobs and tasks .

Otherwise the hyperactive children demand constant attention and non stop entertainment from the already tired and worn out parents parents.
Or else the home will become a mini zoo away from the real zoo! :panda: VS:llama:

Over-abstinence from the small comforts in life is

as bad as, if not worse than, Over-indulgence in them.

When things are available with some terms and conditions
they can hold people at bay.

If the people themselves decides to break the barrier then
nothing can hold them at bay.

Certain religions forbid eating meat on certain days and people adhere to it.

But if a vegetarian breaks the barrier and becomes a non vegetarian
he will not listen to any 'do's or don'ts. He will eat it every single day.

Mahaa Bali was stripped of all his possessions by the cunning Vamana.

But Bali got a boon which is effective as long as man exists.

All the sat karmas like pooja, yaaga, yagna, daanamadone without sradhdhaa will confer their merits not on the karta but on Mahaa Bali.

He will be adding merits to account of PyNya when we do them without bakthi and sradhdha.

I met a girl who was attractive, gentle, dainty and well behaved.

I bet you can Guess her name!!! It is the queen of flowers The Rose!

I am sure no other name will suit her beauty and gentleness.

Images of Tawars. :fear:

Names make us do things which we may not do otherwise. :(

The name Talwar made is necessary to use a knife
to put and end to ones loved daughter.

What if the name had been Cannon? :dizzy:

Would the whole residence have been demolished by
the angry parents along with all the incriminating evidences??? :scared:

Most people have this disgusting habit of extrapolating any casual statement.

Give a compliment to one person and immediately it will be understood

and resented as a complaint about all the others. WHY SO???

If I say Rose is sweet smelling, does that automatically mean

all the other flowers are foul smelling or spread stench??? :nono:

The people who read between the lines in stead of reading the lines, :suspicious:

the people extrapolate any given straight simple statement,

those who can dissect a strand of hair into 100 equal strands,

The people who would keep goading you subtly and imperceptibly

until you tell them what they want to hear from your mouth

all baffle simple minded people like me! :(

One set of people just throw at you a wild statement unexpectedly :fish2:

hoping it will bring out the truth - as they have imagined in their mind.

Their motto in life is "Vizhunthaal maangaai! Vizhaavittaal kal!"

"May theat stone always land on their dirty, dense, double, dome!!!" :amen:

Dear VR ji,

Yes..you are right.

I once had a patient from Nepal who was the son of a temple priest a Brahmin by birth.

He came here to work as a security guard and he presented himself with acute gout within 2 months of working here.

I was surprised to note how this happened and asked him if he was still vegetarian or has started eating Non veg here.

He said he was pure veg back in Nepal but after landing here he was tempted to try non veg and he said he loved the taste of mutton and has been eating it daily!

I told him no wonder he got acute gout cos his body could not handle the sudden surge in uric acid cos previously he was pure veg. Even non vegetarians take years to get gout and this guy got it in 2months!

I told him to stop non veg and go back to Veg diet and he refused..he said he cant live without mutton now.

I told him at least stop eating daily and he still said he cant stop.

He was totally out of control..gained so much weight too.
