கூழும் வேண்டும், மீசையும் வேண்டும்!

ஜூலை மாதம் வருந்தி வருந்தி அழைத்தனர்
ஜம்மென்று மௌண்ட் ரஷ்மோர் செல்வதற்கு!

நல்ல கிளைமேட் ! உடல் நிறைய சக்தி இருந்தது.
பொல்லாத மனம் மட்டும் ஒத்துழைக்கவில்லை.

“வேண்டாம் வேண்டாம்!” என்று மறுத்துவிட்டு
“வேண்டும் வேண்டும்!” என்றோம் நவம்பரில்.

SUB ZERO TEMPERATURE என்றவுடனே
சப்த நாடியும் அடங்கி விட்டது இருவருக்கும்!

விடவும் மனம் இல்லை! போகவும் துணிவில்லை!
விட்டால் இன்னமும் வயது கூடும் அல்லவா?

இறுதியில் வென்றது கூழ் தான்! மீசை அல்ல!
உறுதியுடன் குளிரை சமாளித்துச் சென்று வந்தோம்.

ஊதல் காற்று என்று ஏன் பெயர் தெரியுமா?
ஊதல் சப்தம் கேட்கிறது அது வீசும் போது!

உடையைத் துளைத்து, எலும்பைத் துளைத்து
உடலையும் துளைக்கும் வல்லமை வாய்ந்தது!

கார்கள் எல்லாம் frost icing உடன் நின்றன
காலையில் கலர்ஃ புல் கேக்குகளாக மாறி!

சிகரெட் இல்லாமலேயே புகை விட்டோம்
சிறியவர் முதல் பெரியவர் வரை அனைவரும்!

விரல் நுனிகள் மட்டும் ஐஸ் கட்டிகள் ஆயின.
விரல் நுனிகளில் ரத்த ஓட்டம் குறைவு தானே! :smow:

Pausing VS quitting!

There were two woodcutters.

The first fellow, say A, went on chopping the wood ceaselessly.
By the evening he had chopped an impressive heap of fire wood.

The second fellow, say B, chopped for 50 minutes and took a break of 10 minutes – during which time he would sharpen his axe.

By the evening the heap made by B was larger than that made by A.
His axe remained sharper and the fellow fresher due to the rest in between work.

That is called as a 'pause' and it is not quitting the job! :thumb:

Tejas is the ONLY Indian in his class.

So when he spoke about the fast approaching Diwali to he friends,
they did not know about it any more than the Theory of Relativity,

Tejas has been asked to give a presentation about Diwali.
He wrote a song about Diwali by himslf.

I added more paragraphs and made it more rhyming.
Anyone who wants to talk/ sing about Diwali is welcome to use this material.

Diwali

Diwali is a colourful festival;
Diwali is India's best carnival.

Diwali is a festival of lights;
Diwali means a row of lights.

Diwali is the time to smile and greet;
Diwali is the time to share the sweets.

Diwali means new clothes to wear;
Diwali means happiness to share.

Diwali is a day very holy;
Diwali is a day to be jolly.

I can hardly wait for this Diwali;
I wish for more frequent Diwali!

Here small kids need to learn the dignity of labour as maids and servants are beyond the buying power of the purse of most folks.

So toys are made to resemble the gadgets used by the parents. While the parents work with the actual gadget the litlte hands play with a similar toy.

The Colour Roller (aka 'kowaa wowaa' by kids'unabl to pronounce "R" yet ) resembles the Vacuum cleaner in shape and makes a weird noise when pulled along - resembling the sound made by the original vacuum cleaner.

The kids play with their toy while parents do their chores peacefully.

The toy lawnmower and the real lawnmower side by side!

Why Not?

My little grandson became very fond of school
after going there just for three days!

The secret was out yesterday.

His mother who is volunteering in the school
plays with him outdoors for the first two hours.

Once inside the class room he becomes the monopolist
of the lap of one of the four teachers and
makes her sing for him for the rest of the class hours.

So WHY NOT???

Indian songs whether Hindi or Tamil does not employ Vibrato in its singing.

Today I decided to sing a new Hindi song by infusing Vibrato in it..that is with one breath one would have to let the vocal chords vibrate a little and the net effect is a mild wavy oscillation to the song..as if its shaking a little.

I feel its nice..it gives a good work out to vocal chords and with just one breath one is supposed to cause tremors in the vocal chords.

I think I am the only nut case who wakes up at 5 am and sing a Vibrato when my neighbours are sleeping..

God knows how many heard me singing today!LOL

Dear Renu,
I have a story to share with you all.
Remember the M.I.L of my ex neighbor gave a sky blue sari with twinkling stars in it for Varalakshmi pooja.
It was so long (6.4 meters) that I could stitch two tops and also get a shawl and a chudhidar made out of it.
I found the finest white cotton ( a new arrival) in a small shop near my home last month.
I bought cloth enough for chudidhar and stitched it just a few days before we left for USA.
Now I needed one more shawl to make both the sets complete and independent.
We visited a few big stores here and either the price was sky high or the the shawls looked like old hand-me-down!
My D.I.L found a shawl in Amazon. Amazingly it was the right combination of blue and purple in my dress.
It was delivered in less than two days and I could not have found a better matching shawl even in a shop!
How did we check for the color combination?
The dress was kept near the cellphone after enlarging the shawl and we could see the intricate designs of purple on the sky blue background.
Modern technology is mind blowing indeed! :thumb:
WHY will I not look forward to Diwali with two fine new sets of dresses in my stock - both of which i got for free???

Good to see you still have the enthusiasm to get excited for Diwali.

I don't know why...I never ever had this type of enthusiasm for any celebration...as child only my brothers would get all excited for Diwali or any celebration.

May be I must be having a gene that does not get excited for celebrations!LOL

You are not the only one who sings at odd times. :sing:
I sing here at 5 P.M. everyday - carnatic classical music!

Surprisingly I have improved my pitch from 4 and 1/2 to 5 (G) already.
So singing in the lower pitch (mandara staayi) also sounds good!

The room given to us has the right acoustics to enhance my voice.
May be it even causes resonance to some extent in the lower frquncies. :ear:

For the first in my wedded life of over 46 years
my master and lord sits and listens to my songs! :faint:

Previously I would be made to sing behind closed doors since
it will interfere with the serious watching of Tamil mega serials.

Dear VR Ji,

I have found a new method to increase vocal chord range and power.

That is when I exercise on my thread mill and when I start to take deeper breaths..I sing along..cos singing under exertion isnt easy and it challenges the vocal chords and now I can hit both higher and lower notes.
