BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#41e. Gandharvan

NarAntakan was surprised to hear that the baby had killed the rAkshasi. He sent two more asuras named Dundubi and Udathan. They became lovely parrots and flew to the Ashram of Kashyap. They ate the grains found on the ground.

MahOrkadar was seated on Aditi’s lap. He wanted her to catch the birds for him. Aditi told him, “The parrots will fly away when we approach them. It is very difficult to catch them!”

But MahOrkadar got down from her lap and went near the parrots. His breath was so hot that the two parrots could not bear it. They tried to fly away to safety but MahOrkadar transformed himself into a huge kite and tore the parrots to pieces.

It was an auspicious day and people went to bath in Somavati. Aditi made MahOrkadar sit on the bank of Somavati and entered the water.
When he saw Aditi in the water, MahOrkadar also entered the water. A giant crocodile caught hold of him. The other people there tired to save the child
but the crocodile lashed its tail and attacked them violently.

Meanwhile MahOrkadar managed to come out of the mouth of the crocodile and sit on it back. The crocodile tried its best to shake him off but in vain.
MahOrkadar made the crocodile obey him and forced it to swim around in the pond several times very fast. The crocodile became so tired that when it got on to the land and just dropped dead!

A Gandarvan emerged from the dead crocodile and paid obeisance to MahOrkadar.

5#23d. தேவியின் மறுமொழி

“அறிவேன் நான் சும்ப, நிசும்பரை நன்றாக;
அறிவேன் அவர்களின் வீரத்தை, சம்பத்தை.

வென்று விட்டனர் மூன்று உலகங்களையும்!
வென்று விட்டனர் அனைத்து சம்பத்தையும்!

மன்மத வடிவினன், மஹா வள்ளல் சும்பன்;
மனிதர், தேவர் அசுரர்களால் கொல்ல இயலாது

ரத்தினம் சேரவேண்டும் பொன்னோடு – பெண்
ரத்தினம் நான் சேரவேண்டும் சும்பாசுரனோடு!

கூறுவதைக் கேள் கவனமாக இப்போது – இதைக்
கூறுவாய் தனிமையில் சும்பாசுரனிடம் சென்று.

“சும்பாசுரனே! நீ ஒரு மகா பலவான் அசுரன்,
சுந்தர ரூபன், குணசீலன், தர்மவான் அறிவேன்!

அளவற்ற பலமான சேனையை உடையவன்;
அளவற்ற அருமை பெருமைகள் உடையவன்.

வசீகரனே! விரும்பி வந்துள்ளேன் உன்னிடம்;
இசைவேன் உன்னை மணந்து கொள்வதற்கும்.

உண்டு ஒரு பிரதிக்ஞை என் திருமணத்துக்கு!
பண்டு என் தோழியரிடம் செய்த சபதம் அது!

வல்லவள் நான் யுத்தம் புரிவதில் – என்னை
வெல்ல வேண்டும் மணக்க விழைகின்றவர் !

பலசாலி மன்னன் சும்பாசுரனே! என்னை நீ
பலத்தால் வென்றால் திருமணம் புரியலாம்!”

கூறினாள் ஜகன்மோகினி இதை சுக்ரீவனிடம்,
கூறினான் சுக்ரீவன் இதைச் சும்பாசுரனிடம்.

5#24d. Jagan Mohini’s reply

Devi replied to Sugreevan in a friendly tone,” I know all about Shumban and Nishumban. I know that they have conquered all the three worlds and possess all the riches of these worlds.

I know that ShumbAsuran is as handsome as Manmathan. He is very generous. Neither the Deva nor the Manushya nor the Asura can kill him.
A precious gem must be set in gold to bring out its beauty. I must unite with him to bring out the best in me.

Listen to me carefully and convey my message to Shumban when he is alone.

“SmubAsura! You are a velorous asuran. You are handsome, you are good natured and you are just in your decisions. You have an army superior to every other army. Your greatness can not be expressed in words.

I have come to you since I too desire you. I will be only too happy to marry you. But I have expressed a condition for my marriage – to my friends long ago. I am good in warfare. So anyone who wishes to marry me should be able to defeat me in a war.
If you can defeat me in a war, I shall gladly wed you – since my condition will be fulfilled!” Devi told Sugreevan this message. Sugreevan conveyed this to ShumbAsuran.

#41f. சித்திரன்

“பூர்வ ஜன்மத்தில் நான் கந்தர்வன் சித்திரன்.
ஆர்வத்துடன் செய்தேன் மகள் திருமணத்தை!

உபசரிக்க மறந்துவிட்டேன் பிருகு முனிவரை.
சபித்து விட்டார் உடனே முதலையாகும்படி!

சாபவிமோசனம் தரும்படி மன்றாடினேன்,
'சாபம் நீங்கும் கணேசனின் ஸ்பரிசத்தால்.

அவதரிப்பார் அதிதி காசியபர்களிடம்;
அழிப்பார் கொடிய அசுரர் கூட்டத்தை!'

காத்திருந்தேன் தங்களைச் சந்திப்பதற்கு;
காத்திருந்தேன் தங்கள் ஸ்பரிசத்துக்கு.”

மண்ணில் வந்து இறங்கியது விமானம்;
விண்ணில் சென்றான் விமானம் ஏறி!

விஜயம் செய்தனர் மூன்று கந்தர்வர்,
விருந்து அருந்திச் செல்ல இருந்தனர்.

பூஜையில் அமர்ந்தனர் நீராடியபின்
பூஜைக்குப்பின் ஆழ்ந்த தியானத்தில்.

மறைத்தார் மகோற்கடர் விக்ரகங்களை
பதைபதைத்தனர் கந்தர்வர்கள் உள்ளம்!

முறையிட்டனர் காசியபரிடம் சென்று.
சிறுவர்கள் எவருமே எடுக்கவில்லை!

மகோற்கடரைத் தேடிக் கண்டு பிடித்து
“மறைந்த விக்ரகங்கள் எங்கே?” என

“ஒளித்து வைத்துள்ளேன் என்று கூறி
ஒளித்து வைத்த வாயைத் திறந்தார்

தெரிந்தது வாயில் சிருஷ்டி முழுவதும்
தெரிந்தனர் வாயில் மும்மூர்த்திகள்.

தெரித்தன வாயில் வைகுண்ட கைலாசம்
தெரிந்தன வாயில் பூலோகம், பாதாளம்.

வலம் வந்து வணங்கினர் மகோற்கடரை!
வரம் தந்து விக்ரகங்களையும் தந்தார்.

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#41f. Chitran

“In my previous birth, I was a gandarvan named Chitran. I performed my daughter’s wedding with great pomp and show. I forgot to honor Sage Brugu properly. He got very angry and cursed me to become a crocodile.

I begged for sApa nivAraNam from the terrible curse. Brugu told me, ‘You will get back your original form when Lord GanEsha touches you. He will be born as the son of Aditi and Kashyapa to put an end to the wicked asurA!’

I was waiting for your arrival. I was waiting for your divine touch. Thank you for giving me my original form and breaking the effect of the curse.” He paid obeisance to MahOrkadar and got into a gold vimAnam which took him to his land.

Once three gandharvas visited Sage Kashyap. They wanted to eat food with the sage and then return to their abode. They took bath and did their usual pooja. Then they were immersed in deep meditation. When they came out of their dhyAnam, they were shocked to find all their pooja vigrahAs were missing. They ran to Sage Kashyapa and complained to him.

Kashyapa asked all the children in the Ashram and none of them had hidden the vigrahAs. He then caught hold of MahOrkadar and asked him whether he had hid the vigrahAs.

He nodded his head and opened his mouth to show the vigrahAs hidden there but Kashyapa and the three Gandarvas saw entire creation in his mouth.
They saw the trimoorthis. They saw the KailAsh and Vaikuntam. They saw the earth and the pAtAlam. They knew it was the god supreme appearing to them as a small child. They paid obeisance to MahOrkadar. He blessed them with several boons and returned to them their pooja vigrahAs.

5#24a. சுக்ரீவன்

“சும்பன் பலத்தால் என்னை வென்று விட்டால்
சும்பனுடன் புரிவேன் நான் திருமணம்!”என்றதும்

" தெரிகின்றது குரலில் ஒரு தன்னம்பிக்கை பெண்ணே!
ஒரு நாளும் சும்பன் உன்னை வெல்லமாட்டான் என்று!

வென்றுள்ளான் தேவாதி தேவர்களைப் போரில்;
வெல்வான் உன்னையும் பேதைப் பெண்ணே!

அறிய மாட்டாய் போரைப் பற்றி சிறுபெண் நீ!
அறிந்திருந்தும் வீரம் பேசினாயோ அறியேன்.

வீரம் பேசுமுன் எடை போட வேண்டும் - இருவர்
வீரத்தின் தன்மையையும், பலத்தையும் நன்றாக.

விழைகின்றான் உன்னைச் சும்பன் மோஹத்தால்;
விழையவில்லை உன்ன வெல்லத் துரோஹத்தால்.

அடைய விரும்பிப் போர் புரிந்தால் உன்னைப்
பொடிப் பொடியாக்கிவிடுவான் வலிமையால்!

ஏற்றுக் கொள் சும்பன் அல்லது நிசும்பனை;
ஏற்றுக் கொள் உனக்கு நன்மை செய்வதை.

காமச் சுவை பொது அனைத்து ஜீவராசிகளுக்கும்;
காமச் சுவையில் இனியது வேறொன்றும் இல்லை.

கோபம் கொண்டால் இழுத்துச் செல்வான் சும்பன்
கேசம் பற்றிப் பஞ்சணைக்குப் பெண்ணே உன்னை!

நாணமே பெண்ணுக்கு அழகு, போரில் வீரமல்ல.
நாணம் கொண்டு இன்புறுவாய் நீ சும்பாசுரனிடம்.

கேளிக்கை விநோதங்களை நீ அனுபவிப்பாய்
களம் புகுந்து போர் புரிந்து அழிந்து விடாதே!”

5#24a. Sugreevan

Jagan Mohini told Sumbaasuran’s messenger Sugreevan,”I shall marry Sumbaasuran if he can defeat me in a war!” Sugreevan understood her real ideas and spoke to her thus,

“I can feel a note of confidence in your statement that Sumban can never win over you! He has won over the Devaas and Manushyaas. He will surly win over you also. You are a young girl and may be you do not know anything about warfare. Or may be you do know and yet you talk in this irresponsible manner.

Before boasting about one’s own power and strength, one must consider the power and strength of the opponent also. Sumbaasuran wishes only to marry you. He does not wish to conquer you in a battle. If he decides to fight with you, he will destroy you to small pieces.

You select either Sumban or Nisumban. Select the life which will be filled with happiness and joy. There is nothing wrong in the attraction between the opposite sexes. It is common for all the species of living things and beings.

If you tease and make Sumban angry, he may drag you by your hair directly to his bed. A woman must wear Coyness and shyness as her jewels and not valor and courage.

You can lead a life filled with joys and enjoyment in stead of getting killed by the mighty Sumban in the battle field”. Sugreevan concluded his long speech.

#41g. உபநயனம்

அகவை ஐந்து ஆனது மகோற்கடருக்கு.
உவகையுடன் செய்வித்தனர் உபநயனம்.

குதூகலமாக இருந்தனர் அதிதிகள்;
கோலாகலமாக நடந்தது உபநயனம்.

வந்தனர் அசுரர்கள் அந்தணர்களாக;
வந்திருந்த முனிவருடன் கலந்தனர்.

அக்ஷதை இட்டு ஆசீர்வதித்தனர் – அதில்
அஸ்திரப் பிரயோகம் செய்த அசுரர்கள்.

ஆயுதங்களாக மாறின அக்ஷதைகள்;
பாய்ந்து வந்தன மகோற்கடரை நோக்கி!

அருகில் வந்ததும் மாறின மலர்களாக!
திருவடிகளில் வந்து விழுந்து வணங்கின.

ஐந்து அரிசிகளை எறிந்தார் மகோற்கடர்
ஐந்து ஆயுதங்களாக மாறின அரிசிகள்.

ஐந்து அசுரர்களைத் தாக்கின அவைகள்
ஐவரும் மாண்டனர் மார்பு பிளந்ததால்.

திருஷ்டி கழித்தனர் மகோற்கடருக்கு
தோஷம் நீக்கினர் மகோற்கடருக்கு.

வந்திருந்த தேவர்கள் தந்தனர் பலவித
விந்தையான அஸ்திர, சஸ்திரங்கள்

சூலம், பினாகம், உடுக்கை, மழு,
சடை, பிறைமதி கொடுத்தார் சிவன்.

பாலச்சந்திரன், விரூபாக்ஷன் மற்றும்
பரசுபாணி என்ற பெயர்கள் இட்டார் .

தந்தார் விஷ்ணு தன் சக்கராயுதத்தை,
தந்தார் பிரமன் தாமரை, கமண்டலம்.

தந்தாள் உமையாள் சிங்க வாஹனத்தை;
தந்தான் வருணன் பாசத்தைப் பாசமுடன்!

தந்தான் முத்து மாலையைக் கடல் அரசன்;
தந்தான் மாலாதரன் என்ற பெயரினையும்.

படுக்கையானான் ஆதிசேஷன் இவருக்கு!
பணி ராஜ வாசன் என்ற பெயர் வந்தது

தந்தான் தண்டம் தர்மராஜன் – அக்கினி
தந்தான் அனைத்தையும் எரிக்கும் சக்தியை

தந்தான் வாயு தன் பராக்கிரமத்தை – அங்கு
தந்தனர் அனைவரும் தத்தம் சிறப்புகளை.

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#41g. Upanayanam

Now MahOrkadar was five years old. Sage Kashyap performed his Upanayanam in a very grand manner. The crowd of guests were joyous and the ceremony colorful.

Five asuras came there changed into five Brahmins. They mingled well with the other Brahmins. When they blessed the child by throwing the turmeric rice, the five asuras did asthra prayogam on the rice they threw on MahOrkadar.

The rice thrown changed into deadly weapons and rushed towards the child. But on approaching him they changed into fresh flowers and fell at his feet.

Now MahOrkadar took five rice and threw it at the five asura. The rice changed into deadly weapons and tore open their chests – making them drop dead. The evil eye cast on the child was removed and the dosham rectified immediately.

All the DEvA present there gave the child rare gifts. Lord Siva gave his soolam, pinAkam, damroo, mazhu, jada and the crescent moon. The child got the new names as BAlachandran, ViroopAkshan and Parasu pANi.

VishNu gave him his Sudarshan and Brahma his louts and kamandalam. Parvati DEvi gave him her simha vAhanam. VaruNa gave him his pAsam, the king of the ocean a pearl string and the new name as MAlA dharan.

AadhisEshan became his bed and gave him the name paNirAja VAsan. Dharama RAjan gave the child his daNdam, Agni his power to burn anything and VAyu his immense strength.

12# 3. காயத்ரீ தியானம்

தியானம்


நிறங்கள் ஐந்து உடையவள் காயத்ரீ தேவி;

முத்து, பவளம், பொன், நீலம், வெண்மை.


தரிப்பவள் சந்திரனோடு கூடிய இரத்தின மகுடம்;

தத்துவார்த்தங்கள் நிறைந்த வர்ண ஸ்வரூபிணி!


வரதம், அபயம், பாசம், அங்குசம், வெண் கபாலம்;

சங்கு, சக்கரம், தாமரைகள் கரங்களில் ஏந்தியவள்.


காயத்ரீ கவசம்


நாசம் செய்யும் நூறு விதத் துன்பங்களை

தரும் 64 கலை ஞானமும், மோக்ஷமும்.


ஒழியும் பாவங்கள் இதைப் படித்தால், கேட்டால்!

அளிக்கும் ஆயிரம் கோதான பலன், பிரம்ம வடிவு.

5#24b. ஜகன் மோகினி (2)

தேவி கூறினாள் தன் உறுதியான மறுமொழியை,
“தேவைக்கு மிஞ்சிய சமர்த்தன் வாய்ப் பேச்சில்,

அறிவேன் சும்ப, நிசும்பர்களின் வலிமையை;
தெரிவித்தேன் என் திருமண பிரதிக்ஞையை!

சென்று தெரிவிப்பாய் என் மறு மொழியை
மன்னன் சும்பனிடம் இப்போதே விரைந்து.

போரில் என்னை வெல்ல இயலாதவனோடு
புரிய மாட்டேன் நான் திருமணம் ஒருநாளும்.

அழகைக் காட்டி மயக்கலாம் என்ற ஓர்
அழகிய கனவுக்கு இடம் தர மாட்டேன்.

போரில் வெல்பவனைப் புரிவேன் திருமணம்!
போர் புரியவே வந்துளேன் திருமணம் அல்ல.

உயிர் மேல் ஆசை இருந்தால் செல் பாதாளம்;
உயிர் மேல் ஆசை இன்றேல் செல் போர்க்களம்.

தூதனின் கடமையில் தவறி விடாதே நீ!
சூதின்றி உரைப்பாய் என் மறுமொழியை ”

திரும்பினான் சுக்ரீவன் சும்பாசுரனிடம்,
“விரும்ப மாட்டீர் நான் கூறப் போவதை.

கவனமாகக் கேளுங்கள் நான் கூறுவதை;
கண்டறிய முடியவில்லை கட்டழகி குறித்து.

யார் அவள்? எதற்கு வந்தாள்? அறியேன்
யார் மகள்? யார் மனைவி? நான் அறியேன்.

போரில் வல்லவளா? அன்றிப் பேச்சிலா?
நேரில் சென்று பேசியும் அறியமுடியவில்லை!

அகங்காரம் மிகுந்தவள், ஆணவக்காரி – அவள்
சகஜமாக உரைத்தாள் வினோதப் பிரதிக்ஞையை!”

5#24b. Jagan Mohini

Jagan Mohini told Sugreevan, Sumbaasuran’s messenger, “You talk more than what is necessary. I know all about Sumban and Nisumban. I conveyed my condition for the weddign to take place. Tell your king this condition.

Marrying anyone whio is unable to defeat me is out of question. Do not think that I will get attracted by his appearance and accept his marriage proposal. I have come here to fight with him and not to wed him.

He is free to come and fight me or go back to paatalam. See that you do not fail in your duty as a messenger. Convey my message as clearly as I have told you”

Sugreevan went back to Sumban and said, ” Oh King! I am sure the messge I have brought from her will not be pleasing to hear. I could find out nothing about her.

I do not know who she is or why she is here or whose daughter she is or whose wife she is. Is she an expert in warfare or only in talking? I know nothing.

But I know that she is extremely proud, arrogant and conceited. She has expressed a strange condition for her wedding with you!”

#41h. இந்திரன் மமதை

தேவர்கள் தந்தனர் மகோற்கடருக்குத்
தெய்வீக சக்திகளை மிகுந்த அன்புடன்.

மமதை கொண்ட இந்திரன் மட்டும்
மனது உவந்து அளிக்கவில்லை பரிசு!

முனிவரும், தேவரும் சிறுவனுடன் நிற்கத்
தனித்து விலகி நின்றான் இந்திரன் மட்டும்.

காசியபர் கூறினார் மகன் இந்திரனிடம்,
“ஆசி பெறுவாய் மகோற்கடரிடம் நீயும்!

சின்னஞ் சிறு குழந்தை தானே இவன்;
என் இளவல் தானே என்று எண்ணாதே.

ஆதிப் பரம்பொருளே அன்புடன் இங்கு
கோதில்லாத குமாரனாக வந்துள்ளான்!”

“சிறுவனை நான் வணங்குவதா? நடவாது!
சிறுவன் பெறட்டும் என்னிடம் ஆசிகள்!”

சினந்தான் இந்திரன், பணித்தான் வாயுவை,
“கனத்த காற்றாகி உருட்டிவிடு சிறுவனை”

வாயு அறிவான் சிறுவன் பெருமையை;
வாயு உணர்த்துவான் இந்திரனுக்கு அதை.

சூறாவளிக் காற்றாகி வீசலானான் வாயு!
மாறாமல் நின்றவர் மகோற்கடர் ஒருவரே!

நிலை தடுமாறியது உலகம் முழுவதும்!
நிலை தடுமாறின உயிர்த் தொகை எல்லாம்!

அப்போதும் பணியவில்லை இந்திரன்;
இப்போது பணித்தான் அக்கினியையும்,

“காற்றுடன் சேர்த்து பரப்பு வெப்பத்தை;
ஏற்றத்தை உணரட்டும் அந்தச் சிறுவன்!”

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#41h. Indra’s pride

All the DEvA presented the child MahOrkadar with some rare gift or special power except Indra. All the rushis and DEvA stood surrounding the child while Indra stood aloof from the group.

Kashyap told his son Indra, ” You too take the blessings of MahOrkadar. Do not think he is just your younger brother. He is the God Supreme who is born as your little brother.”

“I will never prostrate to the little boy. If he wants, let him come and get my blessings!” Indra was adamant.

Indra became angry and wanted to prove his supremacy over the little child. He ordered VAyu, “Blow fiercely and make that boy roll down on earth”
VAyu knew the greatness of the child and he wanted to prove it to Indra. He blew fiercely like a terrible storm. The whole world lost its balance. All the living things lost their balance but Little Mahorkadar stood undisturbed by the fierce wind.

Now Indra became even more angry. He ordered Agni, “Join hands with VAyu and spread your heat everywhere!” The hot air blowing was too terrible to bear. MahOrkadar decided to change it.

12#8a. அகந்தை அடங்கியது

"சக்தியின் உபாசனையே கூறப்பட்டு வருகிறது
நித்திய வழிபாடாக வேதங்களில் வேதியருக்கு.

உள்ளனர் அந்தணர் பலர் வைஷ்ணவர்களாக;
உள்ளனர் அந்தணர் பலர் காணபத்யர்களாக.

உடுக்கின்றனர் சிலர் மர உரிகளை - சிலர்
உடுப்பதில்லை எதையுமே திகம்பரர்களாக.

இருக்கின்றனர் பலர் காபாலிகர்களாகவும்,
சார்வாக்கர்களாகவும், பௌத்தர்களாகவும்.

மங்களமான சக்திய உபாசனையை விட்டு விட்டு
இங்ஙனம் பலர் மாறுபடுவது ஏன் எனக் கூறுங்கள்!"

வினவினான் முனிவரிடம் ஜனமேஜயன்;
விளக்கினார் முனிவர் ஜனமேஜயனுக்கு.

"யுத்தம் நடந்தது தேவ அசுரர்கள் இடையே;
ரத்த ஆறு ஓடியது நூறு ஆண்டுப் போரில்.

வென்றனர் தேவர்கள் தேவியின் அருளால்
சென்றனர் அசுரர்கள் பாதாள உலகுக்கு ஓடி!

மறந்து விட்டனர் தேவர்கள் தேவியின் உதவியை!
மமதை கொண்டனர் தமது வலிமையை வியந்து!

பாராட்டிக் கொண்டனர் தம்மைத் தாமே புகழ்ந்து;
பார்த்தனர் ஆவிர்பவிக்கும் ஒரு யக்ஷ ரூபத்தை!

தோன்றியது ஒரு பேரொளி அவர்கள் முன்பு!
மின்னியது கோடி சூரியரின் பிரகாசத்துடன்;

மின்னியது கோடி சந்திரரின் குளுமையுடன்;
மின்னியது கோடி மின்னல்களின் ஒளியுடன்!

12#8a. Pride was subdued!


king Janameyan asked Sage VyAsA this question, "Shakti UpAsana is stated as the most suitable for the Brahmins in all the VedAs. Yet many of the brahmins worship VishNu or Ganesa.

Some of them become KApAlikAs. Some of them become the followers of Buddha or ChArvAka. Some of them wear the bark of trees while the others go around naked wearing nothing at all.

What makes them move away for the Devi upAsana and do all these things? Why don't they have even a trace of faith in the Vedas?"


VyAsA told King Janamejayan," Once a terrible war took place between the DevAs and the AsurAs. It went on for one hundred years. Rivers of blood flowed and many lay dead on either side.


Finally the DevAs defeated the AsurAs with the help of Devi. The defeated AsurAs went back to PAtAlA to hide themselves. The DevAs forgot the help rendered by Devi for their victory. They imagined that they had won the war be their might and strength.So they were praising and congratulating one another.


Suddenly they saw a brilliant light in front of them. It has the brilliance of ten million Suns and the coolness of ten million moons.

5#24c. தும்ரலோசனன் (1)

‘செய்தாளாம் சபதம் சிறு வயதில் தோழியரிடம்
செய்வாளாம் திருமணம் போரில் வெல்பவனை!

‘வென்றால் மணந்து கொள்வேன் சும்பாசுரனை!’
என்றாள் அவள் என்னிடம் மிகவும் உறுதியாக.

அச்சம் என்பதே இல்லை அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம்
அச்சமின்றி அமர்ந்துள்ளாள் சிங்கத்தின் மீது.

ஆணை இடுங்கள் நிறைவேற்றுகின்றேன் – இனி
அடுத்துச் செய்ய வேண்டியது பற்றி!” என்றான்.

சும்பன் கேட்டான் தம்பி நிசும்பனிடம் இவ்வாறு,
” தம்பி நீ அறிவு நிறைந்து செரிந்தவன் அன்றோ?

அழைக்கிறாள் ஒரு சின்னப் பெண் போருக்கு;
பிழைக்க மாட்டாள் நம்முடன் போரிட்டால்!

செல்கின்றாயா போருக்கு நீ? செல்லட்டுமா நான்?
சொல் நன்கு ஆராய்ந்த பின்பு எனக்கு!” என்றான்.

“செல்லவேண்டாம் நாம் இருவருமே போருக்கு!
செல்லட்டும் வீரன் தும்ரலோசனன் போருக்கு.

உண்டு அவனிடம் தேவையான வல்லமை
கொண்டு வருவதற்கு விந்தைப் பெண்ணை!”

வரவழைத்தான் தும்ரலோசனனை சும்பாசுரன்,
“விரைந்து செல்வாய் நீ நாற்படைகளுடன்;

வென்று இழுத்துவா அந்த அகம்பாவியை இங்கு,
சென்று மறையும் அவள் ஆணவம் என் முன்னர் .

துணைக்கு வரும் தேவர், மனிதர், அசுரரைத்
துணிந்து கொன்று குவிப்பாய் போர்க்களத்தில்.

கொன்றுவிடு உடன் வந்துள்ள காளியையும்;
கொண்டு வா அழகியைப் பழுதில்லாமல்”

5#24c. Dumralochanan (1)

Sugreevan told SumbAsuran, “It seems that strange woman had laid a bet with her friends long back that she will marry only the peron who can defeat her in a battle. She says she will marry you only if you defeat her in a war. She does not have even trace of fear. She is seated of a ferocious lion. Please tell me what is to be done next. I shall do it myself”

Sumban now consulted his younger brother Nisumban, “A young woman challenges us to a war. Will you go or shall I go to the war?”
Nisumban told Sumban, “Neither of us have to go to the war. Dumralochnan can defeat her and bring her to you!”

So Dumralochanan was called and instructed by Sumban thus,” Go to meet that woman with our army. Bring her here safely after killing Kali and any other deva or manushya or Asura who might come to help her. Her pride and arrogance will vanish once she is captured and brought before me.”

#41i. விஸ்வரூபம்

புன்னகை செய்தார் அக்கினியைக் கண்டு.
மண்ணில் விழுந்தான் பலமிழந்த அக்கினி!

விண்ணவர் கோனுக்கு உண்மை உணர்த்த
விண்ணுக்கும் மண்ணுக்குமாக வளர்ந்தார்!

முடி தாண்டிச் சென்றது தேவ லோகத்தை!
அடி தாண்டிச் சென்றது பாதாள லோகத்தை!

ஆயிரம் ஆயிரம் முகங்கள், கரங்களுடன்,
ஆகாயத்துக்கும் பூமிக்கும் பரவிய உருவம்.

அண்டங்கள் தொங்கின மயிர்க் கால்களில்;
அண்டம் ஒன்றில் நுழைந்தான் இந்திரன்.

கண்டான் ஈரேழு உலகங்களையும் அங்கு.
கண்டான் முப்பத்து முக்கோடி தேவர்களை.

கண்டான் மும்மூர்த்திகளைத் தேவியருடன்;
கண்டான் மும்மூர்த்திகளின் இருப்பிடங்கள்.

கண்டான் இந்திர லோகத்தையும் அங்கே;
கண்டான் இந்திரனாகத் தன்னையே அங்கு.

மமதை மறைந்தது; அறிவு தெளிந்தது;
மறந்துவிட்டான் வெளி வரும் வழியை.

கண்களை மூடிப் பிரார்த்தித்தான் நன்கு,
“என் பிழை பொறுத்து அருள்வீர்” என்று.

அன்புடன் அவனை வெளிப் படுத்திவிட்டு
சின்னஞ் சிறு பாலகன் ஆனார் மீண்டும்.

பாதங்களில் விழுந்து பணிந்தான் – தன்
பரிசுகளாக அளித்தான் இந்திரன் – தன்

வஜ்ஜிராயுதம், அங்குசம், கற்பகத் தரு.
லஜ்ஜையுடன் விடை பெற்றான் இந்திரன்.

பணிவிடை செய்யத் தந்தான் தேவமாதரை.
பணிவுடன் தந்தவற்றை ஏற்றார் இறைவன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.


#41i. Viswaroopam

MahOrkadar smiled at Agni and dropped down on the ground immediately – having lost all his powers! MahOrkadar wanted to prove the truth to Indra. He assumed his Viswaroopam immediately.

His crown had crossed the DEvalOkam and his feet the PAtAla lOkam. He had thousands of faces and thousands of hands. He stood scaling the heaven and the earth.

The universes hung from his body hairs. Indra entered on of those universes. He saw the fourteen worlds there. He saw all the DEvA there. He saw the Trimoorthis there with their consorts. He saw their heavenly abodes there. He saw the Indralokam there. He saw himself as the Indra sitting there.

Indra realized the truth that this child was none other than the God Supreme. Meanwhile he had forgotten the way to come out of there. He closed his eyes and prayed, “Please pardon my ignorance and pride and let me out.”

Mahorkadar bought him out of his body lovingly and again stood like the small five year old boy in front of him. Indra fell at his feet. He presented the child with his VajrAyudam, ankusham and the Karpaga Vruksham.

He also presented the boy with some celestial maiden to serve him. He took leave of the little boy now – having fully realizing his true greatness.
MahOrkadar graciously accepted Indra’s apology and the rich gifts presented by him with complete humility.

12#8b. "யார் அது?"

அடைந்தனர் வியப்பு அதைக் கண்ணுற்ற தேவர்கள்;
விடை தெரியவில்லை "அரிய மாயை புரிவது யார்?"

'ஆராய வேண்டும் இந்த யக்ஷ உருவத்தைப் பற்றி;
அறிய வேண்டும் இந்த யக்ஷ உருவத்தைப் பற்றி !'

அனுப்பினர் தேவர்கள் அக்னி தேவனை முதலில்;
வினவினான் அருகில் சென்று "யார் நீ?" என்று !

"சொல் முதலில் நீ யார் என்பதை என்னிடம்!
சொல் உன் வல்லமை எது என்று என்னிடம்!"

"அக்னி தேவன் ஆவேன் நான் என்று அறிவாய்!
ஜாதவேதன் என்று எனக்கு இன்னொரு பெயர்!

எரிக்க வல்லவன் நான் எந்தப் பொருளையும்;
எடுத்துள்ளேன் அனலன் என்ற பட்டப் பெயர்!"

துரும்பைக் கிள்ளி எறிந்தது அந்த யக்ஷ உருவம்;
"எரித்துக் காட்டு இதை எனக்கு!" என்றது உருவம்.

முயன்றான் அக்னி தேவன் அதைச் சுட்டெரிக்க;
முடியவில்லை எத்தனை முறை முயன்றாலும்!

நாணித் தலை குனிந்தான் அக்னி தேவன் - உடனே
காணாமல் போய்விட்டான் அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து.

அனுப்பினர் தேவர்கள் வாயு தேவனை அடுத்ததாக;
வினவினான் இவனும் ஆணவத்தோடு "யார் நீ?"

"சொல் முதலில் நீ யார் என்பதை என்னிடம்!
சொல் உன் வல்லமை எது என்று என்னிடம்!"

"வாயு தேவன் ஆவேன் நான் என்று அறிவாய்!
வாரி வீச வல்லவன் நான் எந்தப் பொருளையும்."

துரும்பைக் கிள்ளி எறிந்தது அந்த யக்ஷ உருவம்;
"வாரி வீசிக் காட்டு இதை உன் வல்லமையால்!" என

முயன்றான் வாயு தேவன் அதைச் சுழற்றி வீசி விட;
முடியவில்லை எத்தனை முறை முயன்ற போதும்!

நாணித் தலை குனித்தான் வாயு தேவன் - உடனே
காணாமல் போய்விட்டான் அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து.

12#8b. 'Who was that?"

The DevAs did not know who was behind the appearance of the brilliant and formless light! They had to find out more about that strange light. They must know who was causing it. They sent Agni Deva to find out all bout that strange light.

He went and asked the glowing light, "Who are you?" It replied,"Tell me first who you are and what is yours speciality."

Agni said proudly, "I am Agni Devan. My other name is JAthavEdan. I can burn any amount of anything offered to me. I am called Analan - on who never says "Enough!"

The light threw a blade of grass in front of Agni and said, "Burn this straw now!" Agni tried his best to burn it down but could not. He got ashamed of himself and disappeared from there.

Now VAyu Devan was sent by the DevAS to find out about the strange glow of light. He asked it, "Who are you?" It said, "Tell me first who you are and what is your speciality"

VAyu said "I can blow off anything however heavy. I am called as VAyu Devan."

The glow of light threw a blade of grass and said, "Blow this away ". VAyu could not blow away the blade however hard he tried. He too became ashamed of himself and disappeared from there.

5#24d. தும்ரலோசனன் (2)

போருக்குச் சென்றான் தும்ரலோசனன் உடனே.
வீர அசுரர்கள் அறுபதினாயிரம் பேர்களோடு.

பூங்காவனத்தில் கண்டான் ஒளிரும் பெண்ணை
புன்னகையுன் கூறினான் தன் தூது மொழியை.

“கேள்விப் பட்டான் சும்பசுரன் உன் அழகினை,
வேட்கை கொண்டான் உன்னை அடைவதற்கு.

கூறினான் சுக்ரீவன் போரில் வெல்வது பற்றி – நீ
கூறிய போரைப் பற்றி அறியவில்லலை அவன்.

விரும்பிகின்றாய் நீ ரதி மன்மத யுத்தத்தை;
விவரித்தேன் அதன் நுட்பத்தை மன்னனுக்கு.

நிகழ முடியும் வீரப் போர் இரு ஆண்களிடையே;
நிகழ முடியும் காமப்போர் ஆண் பெண்ணிடையே.

இருக்கட்டுகம் காளியும் ஒரு சாட்சியாக உனக்கு;
விருப்பம் போலக் கூடிக் களிப்பாய் சும்பனுடன்;

வல்லவன் சும்பாசுரன் காமக் கலைகளில்;
நல்லவன் தன்னை விரும்பும் அழகியரிடம்

மகிழலாம் விதவித காம லீலைகளில் நீ
மகிழ்விக்கலாம் சும்பாசுரனையும் லீலையில்

போர் புரிந்து வருந்தாதே பெண்ணே -காமப்
போர் புரிந்து இன்புறுவாய் நீ !” என்றான்
