5#24d. Dumralochanan (2)

Dumralochanan went to meet the Jagan Mohini and saw her in a flower garden. He conveyed her his message,

“Sumbaasuran heard about your beauty and became infatuated with you. Sugreevan told him about the war you were referring to.
You meant the war of love between a man and a woman. He did not understand the symbolism. I explained it to our king.

A war of valour can take place only between two male members. But between a man and a woman only a war of love is possible. Kali can be a witnesS for you. Enjoy all the pleasures with SumbAsuran. Do not trouble your delicate body by indulging in the war fought with real weapons.”

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PRT 2

#42a. காசி ராஜன்

காசிராஜன் நிச்சயித்தான் மகன் திருமணத்தை;
காசியபரை அழைத்தான் மணம் நடத்திவைக்க.

காசியபர் தொடங்கி விட்டார் சதுர்மாஸ்ய விரதம்;
காசியபர் அனுப்பினார் மகோற்கடரை அவனுடன்.

தூமட்சன் ஆவான் நராந்தகனின் சிறிய தகப்பன்;
தூமாட்சன் தவம் செய்தான் சூரியனைக் குறித்து.

ஆயுதம் அனுப்பினான் சூரியன் அசுரனுக்கு.
ஆயுதத்தைக் கைப் பற்றினார் மகோற்கடர்.

மேலும் வலுப்பெற்றது அவரிடம் வந்த ஆயுதம் ;
தலையை அறுத்தார் கைக்கு வந்த ஆயுதத்தால்.

காசிராஜன் அஞ்சினார் நராந்தகன் பகையை;
காசிராஜன் அஞ்சினார் தூமாட்சன் மக்களை.

விரைந்தனர் தூமாட்சனின் இரு குமாரர்கள்
மறைந்திருந்து கொன்றவனை பழி தீர்ப்பதற்கு.

“சிறுவனே! எதற்குக் கொன்றாய் தந்தையை?
அறுத்துத் தள்ளுவோம் உன் தலையை நாங்கள்!

தவம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவரைக் கொல்ல
இவன் ஏவினானா?”காசி ராஜனைக் காட்டினர்.

கைகட்டி வாய் பொத்தி வணங்கி அவர்களிடம்
மெய் நடுங்கச் மெல்லச் சொன்னான் காசிராஜன்

“ஒன்றும் செய்துவிடாதீர்கள் என்னை! நான்
சென்றேன் குலகுருவைக் காசிக்கு அழைக்க.

விரதம் தொடங்கிவிட்டதால் வர இயலாமல்
சிறுவன் இவனை அனுப்பினார் என்னுடன்.

விளையாட்டுப் பிள்ளை அறியாமல் செய்தது;
இளங்கன்று பயம் அறியாது” என்றான் அவன்.

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#42a. KAsi RAjan

KAsi RAjan wanted to perform his son’s wedding. He went to invite his kulaguru Kashyapa to perform the wedding ceremonies. But Kashyapa had already started his chaturmAsya vratham and could not move about for the next four months. So he sent MahOrkadar with the king to perform the wedding ceremonies.

DoomAkshan was the paternal uncle of NarAntakan. He did penance towards Sun God to get the gift of an asthram from him. The Sun God sent it to him but MahOrkadar intercepted it and took possession of that Ayudam.

It became even more powerful in MahOrkadar’s hands. Then the same weapon was used by MahOrkadar to cut off the head of DoomAkshan. KAsi RAjan was afraid of the consequences. He was afraid of the wicked sons of DoomAkshan too.

On hearing about the death of DoomAkshan, his two sons hurried to take revenge on the killer. They demanded MahOrkadar, “Why did you kill DoomAkshan who was just doing his penance? Did this king tell you to kill him?”

Now KAsi RAjan got very frightened and spoke to them with great fear, “Please do not do any harm to me. I went to meet my kulaguru and he sent his son with me in his place. This boy is only small child and very irresponsible in his behavior. Please do not punish us!”

12#8c. இந்திரன் தோல்வி

தேவர்கள் கூறினர் இந்திரனிடம் ஒருபோல;
"தேவர்களின் அதிபதி நீரே அறிந்து வாரும்!"

துரத்த முயன்றான் இந்திரன் யக்ஷ உருவத்தை
விரைந்து ஓடிப் போகவில்லை யக்ஷ உருவம்;

பாய்ந்து வந்தது இந்திரனை நோக்கி வேகமாக;
மாய்ந்து போனது காற்றோடு காற்றாக நொடியில்!

மமதை மறைந்து போனது இந்திரன் மனத்தில்;
'மதிக்கவில்லை என்னை ஒரு பொருட்டாகவே!

திருப்பி அனுப்பியது உருவம் அக்னி தேவனை;
திருப்பி அனுப்பியது உருவம் வாயு தேவனை.

பேசவுமில்லை மதிக்கவுமில்லை என்னை;
பேசாமல் மறைந்து விடுகிறேன் இங்கிருந்து!

மானம் பெரிதா அல்லது உயிர் பெரிதா எனக்கு?'
மனம் ஓடிந்ததால் சரண் புகுந்தான் யக்ஷனிடம்.

"மாயா பீஜ மந்திரத்தை ஜபித்துவா இந்திரா!"
மாயக் குரல் ஒலித்தது விண்ணிலிருந்து !

தியானம் செய்தான் ஒரு லக்ஷம் ஆண்டுகள்!
தியாகம் செய்தான் அன்ன, பான, நித்திரையை.

தோன்றியது பேரொளி மீண்டும் அந்த இடத்தில்
நண்பகலில், சித்திரை மாதத்தில், நவமி திதியில்.

12#8c. IndrA's humiliation

Now all the DevAs told IndrA," You are our king. So you must go and find out about that strange light." IndrA tried to chase the glow of light. It did not move away but came charging towards IndrA and then disappeared suddenly.

Indra felt humiliated now. 'The light spoke to Agni and Vayu but would not even speak to me. It did not care about me or fear me.' IndrA felt distressed.
Suddenly a voice was heard from the Sky," IndrA! Do the japam of MAyA Beeja mantra."

Indra did penance for one lakh years forgoing food, drink and sleep. The same brilliant light appeared again on the Navami Day of Chaitra month at noon.

5#25a. காளிகா தேவி

காம வசனங்களைக் கூறிவிட்டு நின்றவனைக்
காளிகா தேவி எள்ளி நகையாடிக் கூறினாள்.

“கட்டியம் கூற வந்தாயா சும்பன் வரவுக்கு?
முட்டாளாக, முரடானாகத் தூது வந்துள்ளாய்!

ஒன்று போர் செய் எங்கள் தேவியோடு!
அன்றேல் சென்று விடு சும்ப நிசும்பரிடம்.

இருப்பிடம் திரும்புவாள் தேவி – தன் மனக்
கருத்தினை நிறைவேற்றிய பிறகே அறிவாய்!

ஏற்குமா பெண் சிங்கம் காம வசப்பட்டாலும்
ஏற்பில்லாத சிறு நரியைத் தன் நாயகனாக?

நாடுமா காமதேனு காட்டெருமை ஒன்றை?
ஒடிவிடு நீ உன் அரசர்களிடம்!” என்றாள்.

“கோரக் கரிய உருவம் கொண்டுள்ளாய் காளீகா!
கோர உருவத்தை மறந்து எள்ளி நகையடுகிறாய்!

கொன்று விடுவேன் உன்னையும், சிங்கத்தையும்;
சென்று விடுவேன் இவளைக் கவர்ந்து கொண்டு!

குறைத்து விடும் காமச் சுவையினை பலவந்தம்;
பொறுத்துப் போகிறேன் அந்தக் காரணத்தினால்.

வீம்பு பேசுவதில் வல்லவள் நீ என்றறிவேன்
அம்பு எய்வதில் காட்டு உந்தன் திறமையை!”

வில்லை வளைத்து அம்பு மழை பொழிந்தாள்;
“வெல்லட்டும் காளிகா தேவி!” வாழ்த்தினர் அமரர்.

தும்ரலோசனன் எய்தான் எதிர் பாணங்களை;
தூள் பறந்தது தொடர்ந்த கடும் போரினால் !

நாசம் செய்தாள் காளிகா கரி, பரி, கழுதைகளை!
மோசமான கோபத்துடன் தாக்கினான் அசுரன்!

5#25a. Kaalikaa Devi

Dumralochanan spoke all these words and stood there awaiting Devi’s reply. Kaalikaa Devi made fun of him and said, “So you came here merely to announce the arrival of your king Sumban.

You have come here as a fool and a crude fellow on your mission. Either you fight with our Devi or go back to your kings Sumban and Nisumban. Devi will go back only after carrying out her wishes and plans.

Will a lioness choose a cunning fox as its mate? Will the divine cow Kaamadhenu opt to live with a buffalo? Run back to your kings now”

Dumralochanan spoke to Kaalikaa now, “You are dark coloured and terrifying to look at. And in spite of it, you mock at me forgetting those facts.
I will kill you and this lion and carry this woman back with me. Forceful love making will ruin the joy in it. That is the only reason I am putting up with all your nonsense.

I know you are very talented in talking. Now let me see your talent in archery!” Kaalikaa started raining arrows on Dumralochanan. The Devaas blessed her saying “May Kaalikaa win ”

Dumralochanan shot his arrows to block Kaalikaa’s arrows. Kaalikaa destroyed Dumralochanan’s elephants, horses and ponies. He became mad with anger and started attacking Kaalikaa with extreme ferocity.

BHAARAGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#42b. மகோற்கடர்

மஹோற்கடருக்குக் கோபம் பிறந்தது
“ஓஹோ இவ்வளவு தானா பிரதாபம்?

தந்தையின் அனுமதியோடு வந்தேன்;
வந்த இடத்தில் வந்துள்ளது சங்கடம்.

உம்மை மட்டும் காத்துக் கொண்டால்
உம் மீது பாயும் எந்தையின் கோபம்.”

இனி இருதலைக் கொள்ளி ஏறும்புதான்!
முனிவரின் சாபமா? அசுரரின் கோபமா?

பயம் என்பதையே அறியாதவனிடம்
நயமாகப் பேசுவதால் என்ன பயன்?

நெருங்கினர் அசுரர்கள் மகோற்கடரை;
பெருமூச்சு விட்டான் சிறுவன் அப்போது.

மூச்சுக் காற்று கொன்றது அவர்களை!
மூச்சுக் காற்றில் பறந்தன சடலங்கள்!

விழுந்தன சென்று நராந்தகன் அரண்மனையில்!
எழுந்தது சினம் எரிமலையென அவனுக்கு.

“உடனே சென்று இழுத்து வாருங்கள் !” என
படை வீரர்கள் விரைந்தனர் காசிராஜனிடம்.

வீரர்கள் சூழ்ந்தனர் காசிராஜன் ரதத்தை;
வீரர்கள் மாய்ந்த்னர் தரையில் விழுந்து,

மகோற்கடர் தொண்டையைக் கனைத்த
மகோன்னதப் பேரொலிக்குப் பலியாகி.

“வரங்கள் பெற்று என்னிடமே இப்படியா?”
நராந்தகன் அனுப்பினான் மேலும் வீரரை.

மாயப் போர்முறையில் வல்ல அவர்கள்
தூய இறைவனை எதிர்ப்பதற்கு வந்தனர்.

BHAARGAVA PURAANA - PART 2

#42b. MahOrkadar

MahOrkadar became upset with the king’s behavior. He sneered at the king, “You begged for my father’s permission to bring me with you to KAsi. Now we in trouble and all you can think of is saving yourself. Are you not aware of the wrath of rushis and sages?”

Now KAsi RAjan was between the devil and the deep sea. The sage’s wrath was on one side and the anger of the asuras on the other. The little boy knew no fear and there was no point in arguing with him.

The sons of DhoomAkshan came near MahOrkadar and he exhaled a very deep breath. The wind was so fierce that the asuras went out of breath and just dropped dead. The wind of the breath carried their dead bodies high up and dropped them in the palace of NarAntakan.

NarAntakan got terribly angry at the sight of the dead bodies of his cousins. He sent out his soldiers to arrest the people who caused this atrocity.
The asurA soldiers surrounded the chariot of KAsi RAjan. MahOrkadar cleared his throat. A loud deafening noise was produced and the soldiers dropped dead unable to bear the intensity of that terrible sound created!

NarAntakan became more angry that he was not feared by these fools – in spite of the boons he had received. He sent out more soldiers who were good in the MAyA warfare to deal with MahOrkadar and KAsi RAjan.

12#8d. உமா தேவி

தோன்றினாள் அவ்வொளியின் நடுவே ஒரு தேவி;
மேன்மையான உருவத்துடன்; இளம் பருவத்துடன்.

கோடி இளஞ் சூரியர்களின் ஒளி கொண்டவள்;
சூடியவள் இளம் பிறைச்சந்திரனைத் தலையில்.

மூடிய ஆடையில் ஒளிர்ந்தன இரு ஸ்தனங்கள்;
வாடாத இளந்தளிர் மேனி கொண்டவள் அவள்;

பாசம், அங்குசம், அபயம், வரதம் பொருந்தியவள்;
பக்தர்களுக்கு நல்ல கற்பக விருக்ஷம் ஆனவள்.

கொண்டிருந்தாள் மயக்கும் மனோஹர வடிவம் ;
கொண்டிருந்தாள் முகத்தில் மூன்று சுடர் விழிகள்.

மிளிர்ந்தது மல்லிகைச் சரம் அடர்ந்த கூந்தலில்;
ஒலித்தன வேதங்கள் உருவெடுத்து நாற்புறமும்.

மன்மதர்கள் கோடியை வென்றிடும் வனப்பு;
புன்னகை மிளிர்ந்திடும் பிரசன்ன வதனம்.

பத்மராகம் என மின்னியது பூவுலகு - அவள்
பல் வரிசைகள் சிந்திய ஓர் அபூர்வ ஒளியில்.

அணிந்திருந்தாள் சிவந்த பட்டாடைகள் அவள்;
அணிந்திருந்தாள் சிவந்த சந்தனப் பூச்சு அவள்.

காரணங்களுக்கெல்லாம் காரணி ஆவாள் அவள்;
காரணம் கருதாத கருணைக்கடல் ஆவாள் அவள்.

தோன்றினாள் உமா தேவி ஒளி வெள்ளத்தில்;
தோத்தரித்தான் தேவேந்திரன் மெய் சிலிர்த்து!

12#8d. UmA Devi

Indra saw within that glow of Light, a young and beautiful virgin take shape. Her body was as brilliant as ten million young Suns. The colour was of her body was rosy red similar to a fully bloomed JavA flower.

A crescent moon shone on her forehead. Her breasts were full and looked very beautiful under her clothes. She was holding a noose and a goad in her two hands. Her other two hands showed the signs of Favour and Fearlessness.

She wore various gem-studded-ornaments and looked auspicious and beautiful. She was like the celestial tree fulfilling all our desires. She had three eyes and her hair was adorned by garlands of MAlati flowers.

She was praised on Her four sides by the Four Vedas which had assumed physical forms. Her teeth shed a lustre on the ground as if they were PadmarAga jewels. Her face sported a sweet smile. Her dress was red in color and Her body was covered with sandal paste.

She was the Cause of all Causes. She was merciful by her very nature and not for no special reasons. When IndrA saw UmA Devi, the hairs of his body stood on their ends with ecstasy. His eyes were filled with tears of love and devotion. He fell at her feet and sang various hymns of praise.

5#25b. யுத்தம்

உடைத்தாள் ரதத்தை! சிதைத்தாள் அசுரர்களை!
ஊதினாள் வெற்றிச் சங்கினைக் காளிகா தேவி!

ஏளனம் செய்து நெருங்கிய தும்ரலோசனன்
எரிந்து சாம்பல் ஆனான் ஒரு ஹூங்காரத்தில்!

அலறியடித்துக் கொண்டு பின் வாங்கினர் அசுரர்.
மலர்களைச் சொரிந்தனர் வானிலிருந்து அமரர்.

குவிந்து கிடந்தன இறந்த கரி, பரி, கழுதைகள்;
குழுமின உண்பதற்கு நாய்கள், நரி, காக்கைகள்.

வெற்றிச் சங்கொலி கேட்டான் சும்பாசுரன்;
வெளியே வந்து கண்டான் எஞ்சிய வீரரை.

“எங்கே தும்ரலோசனன்? எங்கே அந்தப்பெண்?
எங்கே அசுர சேனை? எவர் முழங்கினார் சங்கை?”

“பஸ்பமாக்கி விட்டாள் தும்ரலோசனனைக் காளீகா;
பயந்து ஓடிவிட்டனர் அசுர வீரர்கள் களம் விடுத்து.

சங்கொலித்தாள் காளிகா தேவி போர் முடிவில் – அது
இங்கொலிக்கிறது இடைவிடாமல் நீண்டு, உரக்க.

கொண்டாடுகின்றனர் அமரர் ஆனந்தமாக!
திண்டாடுகின்றனர் அசுரர் அச்சம் மேலிட!

மாண்டு போனான் தும்ரலோசனன் ஹூங்காரத்தில்!
மாண்டு போயின அவன் கரிகள், பரிகள், கழுதைகள்.

கான சுந்தரி எங்கே என்று கேட்கின்றீர்கள் மன்னா!
தானொருத்தியாக அவள் வந்தது மிகவும் விந்தை!

சிங்காரமாக அமர்ந்துள்ளாள் தன் சிங்கத்தின் மீது.
சிறிதும் இல்லை அவளிடம் அச்சம், மடம், நாணம்.

தேவையில்லை அவளுக்குப் படைவீரர் – எனினும்
தேவர்கள் உள்ளனர் அவளுக்கு உதவுவதற்கு.”

5#25b. The War!

KAlikA Devi broke Dumralochanan’s chariot and killed many asura warriors. She then blew her conch of victory. Dumralochanan came near her with a sneer , as if mocking at her. KAlikA burned him down to ashes just by uttering a loud 'Hoonkaaram'.

The asura army ran in utter confusion. Devas rained flowers from the sky. The dead animlas lay in heaps there. Wild dogs, foxes and crows gathered to eat the dead bodies.

S'umban heard the victorius sound of the conch and came out to receive his warriors. He was shocked to see a handful of asuraas there – who had escaped with their lives from the bettle field.

He damanded to know from them, “Where is Dumralochanan? Where is the rare beautiful woman? Where is my army ? Who blew the conch of Victory?” His warriors answered, “KAlikA Devi reduced Dumralochanan to ashes just by her HoonkAram. Our army ran away in utter confusion. KAlikA Devi is blowing the conch of victory. The Devas are celebrating the victory and the asuras are shivering with fear.

Dumralochanan got killed in one HoonkAram. Many elephants, horses and donkeys also got killed. The rare beauty who has stolen your heart is seated on her pet lion. She does not know the meaning of the word fear. She does not possess any womanly qualities like fear, innocence and coyness . She does need not an army to assist her . Yet the Devas are ready to help her if she needs help!”

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#42c. தருமதத்தர்

நகரை நெருங்கி விட்டனர் தம் ரதத்தில்;
நகரில் கரை புரண்டது அதிக உற்சாகம்.

வேஷமிட்டு வந்தனர் இரு கொடிய அசுரர்கள்;
கோஷமிட்டு வந்தனர் புரோஹிதர்கள் போல்.

கண்டு கொண்டார் உண்மையை மகோற்கடர்;
கண்டும் காணாதது போலச் சென்று விட்டார்.

ஆலிங்கனம் செய்து கொல்ல வந்தவர்களை
ஆலிங்கனம் செய்து கொன்றுவிட்டார் அவர்.

புயல் காற்றாக மாறிவந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன்;
புயலில் சிக்கித் தத்தளித்தது காசி மாநகரம்!

அரைநாணாகிய ஆதிசேஷனை அவிழ்த்துவிட
அடங்கியது புயல் ஆயிரம் வாய்களில் புகுந்து.

பலம் இழந்து நின்றுவிட்ட பரிதாப அசுரர்கள்
பம்பரம் ஆகி மாண்டனர் மகோற்கடரிடம்.

பாறையாக மாறி நின்றான் அசுரன் ஒருவன்
பாறை வழி மறித்தது செல்கின்ற ரதத்தை.

“விக்னங்கள் தீரும் விநாயகரை நினைத்தால்;
விக்ன விநாயகருக்குச் சூறைத் தேங்காய்” என

வந்து சேர்ந்தன ஆயிரத்தெட்டு தேங்காய்கள்;
வந்த மக்களிடம் சொன்னார் மகோற்கடர்;

“சூறை போடுங்கள் ஆளுக்கு ஒன்று !” என்று.
சூறை எறிந்தனர் அந்தப் பாறையின் மீதே!

நொறுங்கின தேங்காய்கள் தலையில் மோதி.
பொறுக்க முடியாதபோது எழுந்தான் அசுரன்.

பாய்ந்தான் சுயவுருவெடுத்து இறைவன் மீது;
பாய்ந்த பரசுவினால் மாய்ந்தான் அவனும்.

தந்தனர் உபசாரங்கள் அரண்மனையில்,
வந்தார் புரோஹிதர் தருமதத்தர் விரைந்து!

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#42c. Dharmadattar

Their chariot had neared the city of KAsi and there was great rejoice in the city since the king had returned after visiting his kulaguru Sage Kashyap.
A group of pundits and priests welcomed the king with poorNa kumbham. In that group two aurA had mingled after getting transformed into prohits. MahOrkadar knew the truth at the very first sight but did not react to it.

The asuras turned into prohits had planned to kill MahOrkadar by embracing him tightly and squeezing him to his death. But MahOrkadar embraced them so tightly that he squeezed them to their death instead.

Another asuran came transformed as a terrible stormy wind. The whole city suffered due to this storm. MahOrkadar untied the serpent Aadiseshan from his waist.

It stood high with its thousand mouths wide open. The stormy wind was weakened as it entered those many mouths. The asurA who had become weak in this manner was killed by MahOrkadar.

Another asuran transformed into a rock and blocked the path of the chariot. MahOrkadar said, ” We will pray to Vigna VinAyaka to remove all the obstacles from our path.” Immediately one thousand and eight coconuts were brought to MahOrkadar.

He told the people who had gathered there, “Each one of you here please break one of these coconuts for Vigna VinAyaka”. The people gathered there started throwing those coconuts on that asuran-turned-into-a-rock to shatter them, in order to please Vigna VinAyaka.

When the asuran could take no more of the bashing with so many coconuts, he got up from there. He assumed his real form and pounced on MahOrkadar. The unfailing parasu was released by the boy promptly and killed the pouncing asuran.

The KAsi RAjan and MahOrkadar reached the palace of the king. Dharmadattar the prohit of the KAsi RAjan arrived there in a great haste.

12#8e. தேவியின் விளக்கம் (1)

"யார் அந்த யக்ஷன் கூறவேண்டும் தாயே!
எதற்கு வந்தான் ? எங்கிருந்து வந்தான்?"

"யக்ஷ உருவமும் என் உருவமே இந்திரா!
கோஷ ரஹிதம் அது! சர்வ சாக்ஷியும் அது!

மாயதிஷ்டானம் அது! பிரம்ம ஸ்வரூபம் அது!
மஹா மாயையின் மகத்தான உருவம் அது!

சகல தேவர்களும் பூஜிக்கும் திருவடி எதுவோ;
சகல தவங்களும் உணர்த்தும் திருவடி எதுவோ;

பிரம்மச்சாரிகள் வணங்கும் திருவடி எதுவோ;
உரைக்கின்றேன் அந்தத் திருவடியைப் பற்றி.

ஓம் என்னும் ஒரு அக்ஷரம் ஆகும் பிரம்மம்;
ஹ்ரீம் என்னும் இரண்டு அக்ஷரம் ஸ்வரூபம்;

இரண்டும் சிறந்தவை என் பீஜ மந்திரங்களில்;
உருவாக்கினேன் சிருஷ்டியை பீஜமாக இருந்து.

ஒரு பாதியாகும் என் 'சத் சித் ஆனந்த ஸ்வரூபம்';
மறு பாதியாகும் என் 'மாயா பிரகிருதி ஸ்வரூபம்'.

மஹேஸ்வரி பராசக்தியான என்னிடம் ஒன்றாகி
மறைந்துள்ளது மாயா சக்தி இரண்டறக் கலந்து!"

12#8e. Devi's explanation (1)

Indran asked Devi, "What was that glow of light? Who was that ? Why did it appear here? Please tell me all!"

Devi replied to Indran thus: "That too was my form Indra. My Form is that of Brahman. It is the Cause of all Causes; It is the Seat of MAyA; It is the Witness to everything; It is perfect and free from all defects and blemishes.

I am THAT which all the Vedas and Upanishads try to establish. I am THAT which has to be reached by practising severe austerities and strict brahmacharyam.


Om and Hreem are the beejAs - the mystical syllables - which are my foremost mantras in which I reside.

I create this universe with My two aspects. Therefore I have two beeja mantras.
The beeja OM is the Sath-chit-Ananda (everlasting existence, intelligence and bliss).

The beeja “Hreem” is the MAyA Prakriti or the Undifferentiated Consciousness, made manifest. MAyA is the Highest Sakti and I am the Omnipotent Goddess - a fusion of Sath-Chit-Aanandam and MAyA Prakriti Swaroopam."

5#25c. இரு சகோதரர்கள்

“செய்யுங்கள் மந்திராலோசனை மந்திரிகளுடன்!
செய்ய வேண்டியவை இவை இரண்டில் ஒன்றே!

முன்னின்று போர் செய்ய வேண்டும் பெண்களுடன்;
பின்வாங்கிச் சென்றுவிட வேண்டும் பாதாளலோகம்.”

பதில் ஒன்றும் கூறவில்லை சும்பாசுரன் இதற்கு;
திகில் அடைந்து அழைத்தான் தனது இளவலை.

“சாம்பல் ஆக்கிவிட்டாள் தும்ரலோசனனைக் காளிகா!
சாகாத வீரர்கள் வந்துள்ளனர் குற்றுயிருடன் மீண்டு!

பேசுகின்றார்கள் பெருமையாகக் காளியைக் குறித்து
பேசுகின்றார்கள் தேவி காளிக்குச் சங்கொலிப்பதாக!

ஒன்றுமே தோன்றவில்லை என் சிற்றறிவுக்கு!பாதாளம்
சென்றுவிடுவோமா? அன்றிச் செல்வோமா போருக்கு?”

“சரியல்ல அண்ணா ! மனம் நொந்து துயருறுவது
சரியாகும் அந்த பெண்ணைப் போரில் வெல்வது!

செல்வேன் நான் இப்போதே போர்க்களம் – அங்கே
வெல்வேன் அந்த அஹங்காரியை என் வலிமையால்!”

“செல்ல வேண்டாம் தம்பி நீ அவளுடன் போருக்கு;
செல்லட்டும் சண்ட முண்டர்கள் இப்போது போருக்கு

சண்டி ராணியைப் போரில் அடக்கி, மடக்கிப் பிடிக்க
சண்ட முண்டர்களே சாலவும் சிறந்தவர்கள் ஆவர்!

முயலைப் பிடிக்க யானை செல்ல வேண்டுமா?
மங்கையைப் பிடிக்கத் தளபதிகள் போதுமே!”

விளித்தான் சண்ட முண்டர்களைத் தன்னிடம்;
அளித்தான் போர்க்களம் செல்லும் பணியினை!

“கரிய நிறமும், கர்வமும் படைத்த காளியை
சிறிதும் தயவு இன்றி நசுக்கிவிடு போரில்.

சிங்கத்தின் மேல் உள்ள சிங்காரியை மட்டும்
அங்கம் பழுதின்றிக் கொண்டு வா என்னிடம்.”

5#25c. The two brothers

The asura warriors who managed to escape from KAli told S'umban this, "There are two courses of action open to us now. Either we have to fight with those two women or we have to retreat to PAtAla lokam.”

S'umban did not reply anything. He got very worried and sent for his younger brother Nis'umban. He told Nis'umban,”KAli had burned down Dumralochanan to ashes. The few warriors who managed to excape have returned here barely alive.

They sing the praise of KAli. They say that Devi herself blew the conch of victory for KAli. I am confused and unable to come to any decision. Shall we go to the war or shall we go back to PAtAlam?”

Nis'umban consoled S'umban,'”There is no need to worry so much about these trivial matters. We can’t go back to PAtAlam. We need to go and fight with those two women. I myself will go and subdue those proud and arrogant women and bring them here”

S'umban told Nis'umban now, “Neither you nor I need go to the war now. Our valorous ChaNdan and MuNdan will easily win over those two women, capture them and bring them here to us. An elephant is not needed to conquer a tiny rabbit. ”

S'umban sent for ChaNdan and MuNdan and instructed them thus, ” Go to the war front. Kill that dark colored KAli without any mercy. Bring to me the beautiful woman seated on the lion safely and unhurt!”

#42d. தருமதத்தர்

பிறந்திருந்தான் பிரமன் தருமதத்தனாக;
பிறந்திருந்தனர் சித்தி, புத்தி மகள்களாக.

“விரைந்து வந்த காரணம் என்ன?” என்று
வினவினான் மன்னன் தருமதத்தரிடம்.

“காசியபர் குமாரர் மகோற்கடருக்கு நான்
நேசிக்கும் மகள்களை திருமணம் செய்திட”.

அரசன் மகிழ்ந்தான் இம்மொழி கேட்டு
அனுமதி தந்தான்,” அங்கனமே ஆகுக!”

“நல்ல நண்பர்கள் உன் தந்தையும் நானும்;
செல்ல மகள்களை ஏற்று அருளவேண்டும்.”

புறப்பட்டனர் இருவரும் செல்வதற்கு;
எதிர்ப்பட்டனர் இரு அசுரர் அழிப்பதற்கு.

கழுதை உருவில் வந்த காம, குரோதர்
புழுதியில் புரண்டு சண்டை இட்டனர்.

மூச்சு முட்டியது அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும்!
தீச்செயலைத் தடுத்து விட்டார் மகோற்கடர்.

புல்லை இரண்டாகக் கிள்ளி ஏவினார்;
பொல்லா அரக்கர் வீழ்ந்து மாண்டனர்!

குண்டன் வந்தான் மதயானை வடிவில்
ஆண்டவனைத் தாக்க முயன்றான் அவன்.

வாலைப் பற்றிச் சுழற்றி அடக்கிவிட்டு;
மேலேறி அமர்ந்தார் யானை முதுகில்.

விரட்டி ஓடச்செய்ததில் களைத்துப் போய்
நுரை கக்கி வீழ்ந்து மடிந்தது மதயானை.

BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 2

#42d. Dharmadattar

Brahma was born as Dharmadattar and Siddhi DEvi and Buddhi DEvi as his two daughters. The king asked him, “What makes you come here in a great hurry?” DharmadAttar replied, “I want to marry my two loving daughters to Mahorkadar – the son of Kashyapa.” The king of KAsi was pleased to hear this and accepted that alliance.

Dharmadattar told Mahorkadar, “Your father and I are good friends. You must accept my two lovely daughters as your wifes.” They left for Dharmadattar’s home.

Two asurA KAma and KrOdha came in the form of donkeys. They fought terribly in the street creating dense clouds of dust and suffocating the citizens.
MahOrkadar took a leaf of grass and split it into two halves. He threw them at the asurA with asthra prayOgam and they fell down dead. GuNdan came in the form a mad elephant. He tried to lift MahOrkadar with his trunk.

But MahOrkadar grabbed his tail and swirled him round and round until he was subdued. Then he sat on the neck of the elephant and made him run all over the place until he foamed in his mouth and fell down dead – completely exhausted!

12#8f. தேவியின் விளக்கம் (2)

குளிர்ச்சியும் நிலவும் கலந்துள்ளது போல
மிளிர்கின்றது மாயை என்னுடன் கலந்து.

இருக்கின்றன இரண்டும் சமமாக என்னிடம்,
இருக்கின்றன இரண்டும் அபேதமாக என்னிடம்.

பிராகிருத பிரளயத்தில் அபேதமாக இருக்கும்
பிரபஞ்ச ஜீவராசிகள் என்னுள் ஒடுங்கி லயித்து.

அவ்யக்தமாக இருக்கும் பிராணிகளின் கர்மங்கள்
வ்யக்தமாகிவிடும் மீண்டும் என் மாயையினால்.

மறைமுகமான அவஸ்தையே ஆகும் மாயை.
வெளிப்படையான அவஸ்தை ஆகும் தமஸ்.

தோன்றுகின்றன தமஸிலிருந்து ஸத்வம், ரஜஸ்.
தோன்றும் முக்குணங்கள் மும் மூர்த்திகளிடம்.

மிகுந்திருக்கும் தமஸ் ருத்ர மூர்த்தியிடம்;
மிகுந்திருக்கும் ஸத்வம் விஷ்ணுவிடம்;

மிகுந்திருக்கும் ரஜஸ் பிரம்ம தேவனிடம்
மிகுந்திருக்கும் தொழிலுக்கேற்ற குணம்.

விளங்குவார் பிரமன் ஸ்தூல தேஹமாக;
விளங்குவார் விஷ்ணு சூக்ஷ்ம தேஹமாக;

விளங்குவார் ருத்திரன் காரண தேஹமாக
விளங்குவேன் நான் துரீயமாக அறிவாய்!"

12#8f. Devi's explanation (2)

Just as moonlight is not different from the Moon, so is this MAyA Sakti is not different from Me. It is present in me inseparably.

During Pralaya this MAyA lies dormant and latent in Me, without any difference. At the time of creation, MAyA appears as the fructification of the KarmAs of the JeevAs.

The potential and latent MAyA is Antarmukhi and Unmanifested. The kinetic MAyA which expresses is Bahirmukhi and Manifested. There is neither an origin nor a beginning for this MAyA. It is in a state of equilibrium of the three GunAs.

During Creation the GuNAs appear. Tamas appears first. Satvam and Rajas appear from Tamas. The three GunAs dominate in The Trinity. Tamas dominates in Rudra; Satvam dominates in VishNu and Rajas dominates in BrahmA.

BrahmA is known as of the Gross Body; VishNu is known as of the Subtle Body; Rudra is known as of the Causal Body while I am known as Tureeya - transcending the three guNAS.

நான்கு நிலைகள்



“உறங்குவது போலும் சாக்காடு”, நாம் அறிவோம்.
உறங்கும் போது, நாம் ஆன்மாவில் ஒடுங்குவோம்.
இடம், பொருள், ஏவல், காலம் எல்லாமே,
இடமில்லாது அப்போது மறைந்து போகுமே!

கனவுலகு புகுந்ததும், நாம் கடவுள் ஆகின்றோம்!
நினைத்தைப் படைக்கும், திறன் அடைகின்றோம்!
“வானம்!”, என்றவுடன் நீல வானம் உருவாகிடும்!
“வனம்!” என்றவுடன் பச்சை வனம் உருவாகிடும்!

ஆதவன், சந்திரன், தாரகைகள் எல்லாம்,
பேதமில்லாமல் ஓடி வரும், அழைத்ததும்!
எந்தப் பொருளும், இடமும், காலமும்,
எந்த விலங்கும், மனிதனும், பறவையும்,

நினைத்த நொடியில் உருவாகிடுவர்;
நினைத்த போது மறைந்து செல்லுவர்!
நினைத்த படியே பேசிப் பழகுவர்;
நினைத்த செயல்களையே புரிவர்.

நம் சின்ன அறிவும், சிறிய அனுபவமும்,
நம் சின்னத் திறனும், சிறிய சக்தியும்,
சொன்னபடி உருவாகும் ஒரு பெரும்
மன்னுலகம்; ஒரு பெரும் மாய உலகம்!

கண்களை விழித்தால், காணவே காணோம்,
கற்பனையில் உருவான அந்த மாய உலகம்!
கனவைத் தாண்டினால், கனவு பொய் ஆகும்.
நனவு நிலையில், கனவுகள் பொய் ஆகும்.

நனவைத் தாண்டினால்… என்ன ஆகும்?
நனவைத் தாண்டினால், நனவும் பொய் ஆகும்!
நிறைந்த அறிவும், அளவில்லா அனுபவமும்,
குறைவில்லாத் திறனும், குவிந்த ஞானமும்,

செறிந்த அந்த உயரிய இறைவனின்,
சிறந்த கற்பனையே நம் நனவுலகம்!
கனவுலகு நம் கற்பனையின் படைப்பு,
நனவுலகு அவன் கற்பனையின் படைப்பு !

கனவைத் தாண்டினால், கனவு மறைவதுபோல்,
நனவைத் தாண்டினால், இவ்வுலகே மறையும்!
எங்கும் நிறைந்த இறைவனே இருப்பான்.
எல்லாப் பொருட்களும் அவனாக இருக்கும்!

நாம, ரூப, பேதம் இன்றி எல்லாம் அவனே.
நாம் காண்பதெல்லாம் எங்கும் பிரம்மமே.
இந்த அற்புத நிலையே துரியம் ஆகும்.
இந்த நிலை அடைந்தால் துயரம் போகும்!

உறக்கம், கனவு, நனவு, உறக்கம் என்றே,
கிறங்குகின்றோம் நாம் வாழ் நாளெல்லாம்;
உறக்கத்தையும், கனவையும் கடப்பது போல் ,
நனவையும் கடந்து, துரியத்தை அடைந்தால் ….

இல்லை பயங்கள் , இல்லை பாவங்கள் ,
இல்லை மொழிகள், இல்லை செயல்கள் ,
இல்லை பேதங்கள், இல்லை தொல்லைகள்
இன்பமே எங்குமே ! இன்பமே என்றுமே !

5#26a. சாமுண்டி தேவி (1)

சண்ட, முண்டர் சென்றனர் படைகளுடன்;
சண்டை செய்து காளியை அழித்து விட.

“சிறு பெண்ணையும், சிங்கத்தையும் நம்பிச்
சிறிதும் அச்சமின்றித் தனியாக வந்தாயா?

சும்ப, நிசும்பரின் வலிமைக்கு ஈடாகுமா
சிங்கமும், கரிய காளியின் வீர, தீரமும்?

வந்தாயா உன் கரங்கள் பதினெட்டு என்பதால்?
வந்தாயா உனக்கு உள்ள அதிக ஆணவத்தால்?

அறுத்துத் தள்ளினான் சும்பாசுரன் – இந்திரன்
ஆனையின் துதிக்கையை என்று அறியாயோ?

குயிலைப் பழித்திடும் குரலில் நீ பாடுகின்றாய்!
ஒயிலான அழகையும் பெற்றுள்ளாய் பெண்ணே!

ஆணுடன் ஆண் செய்வதே வீர யுத்தம் – ஆனால்
ஆணுடன் பெண் செய்வதன் பெயர் காதல் யுத்தம்.

இருவகைப் படுவர் நமக்குள்ள நண்பர்கள்.
தரும மித்திரர்கள் மற்றும் காரிய மித்திரர்கள்.

கருதுவர் தரும மித்திரர் நமது நன்மையை;
கருதுவர் காரிய மித்திரர் தமது நன்மையை;

வரித்து விடு உன் மணாளனாகச் சும்பாசுரனை!
வசீகரன், வீரன், அழகன், அசுர அரசன் அவனை!”

ஜகன்மாதா கர்ஜித்தாள் தன் சிங்கம் போலவே!
“ஜகத்தின் ஆதாரம் நான் என்று அறிவாய் மூடா!

தேவையில்லை ஒரு நாயகன் சுகம் தருவதற்கு!
அடைவதில்லை என்னை அன்றி எவரும் சுகம்!”
