most medical terms are in Greek and Latin for example Dysphagia..
Dys means Difficult
Phagia means swallowing..hence Difficultly in Swallowing.

Diabetes Mellitus is Latin meaning Sweet U****
Mellitus means Sweet.
I am not explaining meaning of Diabetes cos it will remind many of some infamous analogy I once used.

Greek words are used widely in medical terminology for example the word Pathy from the word Pathos meaning a disease/suffering and hence words like Myopathy,Retinopathy,Neuropathy..

And all the years of learning Piano has made me pick Italian up words like Mezzoforte,Fortississimo etc..

Coming back to Greek language..I am sure its has its origin in Sanskrit cos how else did it get the meaning of Pathy so correct?
Pathy in Greek means Disease/Suffering just like the effect caused by the Pati(husband) in Sanskrit!!!LOL

Is the word Raghupathy Greek or Sanskrit?

It beats me why a Shankarlal (in his own rights) :high5:

and a person with a distinguished aura about him
(in the eyes of the forum) :flame:

would feel miffed and left OUT from the note of thanks.:noidea:

Are you like Hanumanji that I have to :sing: your praise everyday and to remind you of your own greatness?

If yes, I will do that but I will also address you by one of the many lovely names of Hanuman.

Is it a deal then???

Actually I thought of quitting these threads of Mrs. VR, (what with thanking only Sri NBS for increased traffic) and leaving people like me miffed at the affront of not being treated even as "also ran" category raters.

But these comments of innocence/ acting innocent/ assumed innocence, and its counterparts like guilty/presumed guilty/ clear-cut guilty etc. indicate Sankarlal may have some day job after all.

You tell me about

Seetaapathi, Umapathy, Sethupathy, Ramaapathy, Vaaneepathy,

Ganapathy, Lakshmipathi, Gowripathy :bump2:

and then I will tell you about Raghupathi. :)

Is everyone except Lakshmipathi and Seetaapathi - a patho? You have spelt all other names with "pathy".....(last letter "y").... why this discrimination....?

The flame symbol you have typed out above is not reflected in my moniker. There is a small bottle green coloured square which shows that I have an aura. Even by default the cursor does not go there, so nobody is aware of my aura. So even the paper-award is not commensurate with the achievements of Sankarlal.

Secondly, Sankarlal cannot solve a simple mystery. My moniker indicates me as "Active member" but the symbol underneath indicate me as "veteran".... What is the truth ? Do you have any clue, being a veteran?Regards

Sometimes Life becomes a Classroom for many. Some take always
alternate routes or choices to make than to find the reality on the
main route. When a person works with joy, he normally remains peaceful.
One normally experiences the consequences of his own deeds. The
energy or the power that generates is the byproduct of his understanding.
Normally people with power are the people who know how to get the things
done in their way. The real test of living is how to take each experience
in one's life. Wickedness is always easier than virtue.

This brown symbol veteran means that you have been registered for 3 or more years.... a REAL veteran
People like me who post craps in :bump2: and reach the four figure number of posts are also veterans but not real veterans.

See the difference now?

The same as that between the old wine and the new wine .

The members fall under different categories depending on the number of post they have made...
the newbie, the junior member, the active member, the senior member, the veteran etc.

I used to know the number of posts that decided these status but forgot once I became a raw veteran - unlike you the real veteran. :)

The number of landmark posts are 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000!
If you look the status of new member and their number of posts you can see the connection yourself.

The green bar (what you call as a bottle) conceals all the secrets here...may be to protect us from the green eyed monsters(!)

QOL is a multidimensional concept. It means different things to
different people. WHO has a questionnaire to measure the QOL.
Some may be family oriented and their QOL is assessed based on
the members of the family into account, their relation, physical and
social activities, etc. Some may value the independence from others
and not being dependent on them for emotional support, etc.

#311. "எள் என்பதற்குள் எண்ணையாக!"

"எள் என்பதற்குள் எண்ணையாக நிற்கின்றாள்!" என்று

பெண்களை முன்பெல்லாம் புகழுவது

கணவன்களின் வழக்கம். :blabla:

அவர்கள் கண் ஜாடையைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு

நாம் எல்லாம் செய்வோம்.

ஆனால் அவர்கள் வாய் விட்டுச் சொன்னால் கூடக்

கண்டு கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

சில இடங்களில் இது (எள் + எண்ணெய்)

தடங்கல்களாக மாறுவது உண்டு. :whoo:

பந்தியில் கொஞ்சம் நிதானமாகச் சாப்பிட்டால்

கோவிந்தா.... கோவிந்தா!

Snow ball

:photo:

அவர்கள் போய்த் தொலையட்டும் என்று அமர்ந்திருந்தால்

அதற்கும் முன்பே சாப்பிடும் இலை தொலைந்து விடும்!

அல்லது பின்னால் இருப்பவர் அவசரப் படுத்துவார்.

Awful lot of info both in this message and the previous one. Thank you very much Mrs. VR.

I have started flexing my fledging muscles in other threads. Would you also be knowing the counters of the points that I would be losing in case I am docked by the admins?

I am completely in the dark with regard to losing marks.

I don't even know whether I had lost any marks for flexing my

fledgling muscles in controversial threads :)

Monkey see, monkey buy

Research, led by Celine Jacob of the University de Bretagne-Sud, observed 129 customers who asked for information about an MP3 player. In half the cases, the employee had been told to mimic the customer.
Some 79% of customers who interacted with a mimic bought an MP3;
But only 62% of those who interacted with a non-mimic employee bought.

Does this bear a similarity to the ‘Like’ in this forum?:(

nope! :(

When a woman says "No", it means "May be!".

When she says, "May be!" it means " Yes!"

You are more ambiguous than a woman :confusion:

since you say Yes and No in one sentence of 3 words!!!

Allow me to change the word ambiguous in the line “You are more ambiguous than a woman” to

“You are more
mysterious than a woman”

The mystery is LOST since everyone KNOWS that

No = May be and

May be = Yes.

That is called as ambiguity in English,

since we say something and mean something else!

People KNOW that everything is NEGOTIABLE with MOST

women since they are practical and down to earth.
