vattam means circle and cheyalar means secretary. There is no equivalent to the term in English which will convey the correct meaning with the political nuances that go with it in Tamilnadu's political scenario today. I do not know whether Ash Maharaj can help with an equivalent one in Malay-if there exists one.

It means just that there is a circle of fans of Renumma-it can have many people- and it needs a head to guide it in its activities, the head happens to be a cheyalar (cheyalar because he has to be active and act fast) They are neither circular in shape nor do they sit in circle.LOL. In TN these people-fans-never sit or stand. They are most of the time flat-horizontal- and get up only when the biryani is ready in the canteen of the meeting venue. Of course they are round in shape. LOL.

According to RR this Iyakkam started looooooooooooong time ago and the starter is in the US.

So, by natural choice, the starter should be the Thailavar. I am a late entrant - only a Thondan.

Under the Thalaivars orders, thondars are only supposed to distribute sweets and do abhishekams
to huge cut-outs on the day of Avathara Thirunaals of their idol. In this case RENU AMMAIYAAR.
Fans all over will celebrate - from Chennai to Chicago [ Shhh!, via Coimbatore ]

TVK can be the "KoPaSe" - Kolgai Parappu Seyalalar.

This is all fine, but where did the ghosts go (?) - will we have to wait till Friday 24th ?

yes yes..you are right..be friendly to everyone but do not have a best friend..that is the best policy cos we wont have enemies!

Today I experimented with Thayir Sadam.

Instead of using Rice I used Quinoa ...tasted great..Topped it with pomegranate,halved dark grapes and coriander leaves.

Quinoa is mainly protein and has less carbs than rice..so lesser calories.

Thayir Quinoa anyone?
