Delhi tourism minister kapil sharma has opined that that when men are allowed to vote at the age of eighteen , keeping minimum age of drinking as 25 years is
unrealistic.. He would like it to be reduced atleast to 21 years.. He says this will reduce harassment of youth at the hands of police which is rampant at present.
Many night clubs with bars licensed bars are facing difficulties as they have to refuse service to youth who patronise them. For tourism to flourish in delhi , he feels
delhi should have a night life with some shops and avenues of entertainment open like singapore.
Overdose of anything including sex is bad.
You do not refrain from sex for that.lol
Same is the case of alcohol.
Advocating bans etc is done by people with perverse mindsets.
These are the types which gun for women in public spaces criticizing their dresses
advocate locking women in homes and hostels
practise violence against rationalists
subscribe to astrology , superstitions , practise of mumbo jumbo rituals
they require to be put down in society to evolve a better social order.

- alcohol. as like charity let tee-totalling starts from home.
JJ Ji,
The common man of Tamil Nadu knows pretty well the reason behind every political party jumping into the bandwagon of ‘Prohibition’ all of a sudden. The anti-liquor movement is now gaining momentum.
While the ruling party is very particular in milking the cash cow ‘Tasmac’ to its best advantage, the other political parties are trying take advantage of this situation and demanding prohibition and hence there are agitations, protests, demonstrations, etc going on every day.
Now why should we talk about these political parties which are opportunists?
What are the demands of Gandhian activists?
Why Sasiperumal of Kanyakumari died?
I think it is against breadwinners of poor families turning into alcoholics thus affecting their families.
It is against forcing children to drink alcohol.
It is against school going boys and girls getting into the habit of consuming liquor, etc
Because Prohibition is a political decision!
Yes.
Political decisions can be changed according to the mood and pulse of the general public who are the vote bank.
If Peoples Mood is for Prohibition then the foot prints in Tasmac out lets should be dwindling which is not happening!
True But Prohibition may not be the solution People should avoid this habit otherwise get into addiction You have to decide your fate !
JJ Ji,
There are States functioning better with enforcement of 'prohibition'.
And there are umpteen number of solution.
All that is required is enough guts on the part of ruling Government to enforce.
The will on the welfare of the public should overbalance the revenue earned thro' TASMAC.
I know well, a staff who more particularly belongs to a rural village of Madurai, was a victim of lottery ticket. Though he experienced lot of set backs bcos of this habit, after the ban he is leading a peaceful and comfortable life now, but licking his wounds.
Similarly, there are people who had suffered a lot bcos of habit of chewing 'Paan Parag Gutka'
There was lot of revenue earned through sale of this product by the Government.
Why the Government banned this ????
Government makes abou 26000 crores revenue If Prohibition is enfored this will be wiped out OK this might be overcome by other innovative taxing policy - But to see that one man doesnot drink the government will be spending huge money He has to be taken to a doctor for certification of drunkeness 24 X7 The doctor in casuality may be busy with other emergencies and has to waste his time on issuing this certificate! Then he has to be taken to Magistrate for further legal actions - The fellow might contest and the government has to establish his guilt - You see how much money and time wasted by the Government to see a man does not drink! Then a huge police squad to enforce prohibition - These are personel health and moral problems and noo need for a Moral Police Squad!
I feel prohibition is "Pogatha Oorukku Vazhi
It may be your opinion.
But the fact remains that Police Department is modernized now. The procedure elaborated by you are outmoded. . They are using new alcohol breath analysers to detect whether one is drunk beyond the permissible limit whenever they go on massive drive against drunken driving.
And we have travelled already in this ‘Vazhi’, I mean the State of Tamil Nadu has a long history of ‘Prohibition enforcement’.
Alchol lvel in the blood is the final evidance Alchol in Breath is a screening test for further action The man has every right ot contest which you cannot overlook In that case the government has to convince the court which is time cosuming not worthwhile which may end in a small fine !
Let those who wanted to contest in the Court are free to do so. It involves several hearings besides paying fees to the Advocate. He has to attend the Court every hearing.
As for Police, there will be a dedicated staff to attend to such Court matters. For individuals who are busy in life, attending court at every hearing is a time consuming exercise.
And those who enjoy pleasure out of consuming alcohol, I think richly deserve to attend court at every hearing and go through the long drawn procedure.
