கடல் கடந்த மூன்றாம் அனுபவம் ..... 65
நடைப் பயிற்சிக்கு முதன்மை தருவார்கள் பலர்;
நடை பயிலப் பல விசேஷ இடங்களும் உண்டு.
நடை பாதைகள், குளங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் உண்டு;
நடை பாதைகள், பூங்காக்களைச் சுற்றிலும் உண்டு!
Freedom Trail என்று ஒரு நீண்ட நடை பாதை; அதை
செங்கல்லை வைத்தே அநேகமாகக் கட்டியுள்ளார்.
இரண்டரை மைல் தொலைவு உள்ளது அப்பாதை;
சிறந்த சரித்திர இடங்களை, வழியிலே காணலாம்.
வாஷிங்டனில் உள்ளது போலவே, இங்கேயும் ஒரு
வானுயர நினைவுச் சின்னம் வைத்திருக்கின்றார்.
அந்த இடத்திலிருந்தே ஆரம்பித்துத் தொடருகிறது
இந்த நடைப் பயணம், இந்த அழகிய நகரினிலே.
நம்ம ஊர் மருத்துவமனைகளில், நோயாளிகளை,
நல்ல ஓய்வாக, படுக்கவே வைப்பார்கள். ஆனால்
இங்கு மருத்துவமனைகளிலே, நடந்தே தீரணும்.
அங்கும் இங்கும் குத்திய ஊசிகளுடன், எளிதாக
மூச்சு விட ஆக்சிஜன் சிலிண்டருடன், நடப்பார்கள்,
பேச்சுக் கொடுக்கும் நர்ஸுகளுடன், நோயாளிகள்.
தொண்ணூறு வயது முதியவரே ஆனாலும், அதை
எண்ணாது, இங்கு நடக்க வைப்பதைப் பார்த்தேன்!
நகரை வலம் வந்தபோது, அழகிய குதிரை வண்டி
நகரை வலம் வருவதைப் பார்த்தேன்; இது போல
வண்டியில் உலா வரக் கட்டணம் செலுத்தினால்,
வண்டியில் ஏறி ஒரு முறை, ஒரு சுற்று வரலாம்!

we felt the quake in toronto, our building moved. we took it as a matter of fact, and after a couple of minutes of hobnobbing, resumed our work.
my daughter, who works for the provincial government, was evacuated from her building, and it was a good hour before she returned.
my son who works in the usa was also evacuated, apparently they are always in a state of high alert!!

hi RR,
this weekend we are expecting hurricane Irene in east coast/new england area....now its bahamas area....still moving carolinas...
then may be va/dc/md/pa/ny/ and finally may be in maine....after earth quake now prepare for hurricane with heavy winds/rain
this week end....be prepared...

வீட்டில் இருந்தால், ஒரே போல வேலைகள் தினமும்;
வீட்டுச் சுத்தம் செய்வதும், சமையல், சாப்பாடும்தான்.
தோட்டக் குப்பைகள் வண்டி, மாதம் ஒருமுறை வரும்;
தோட்டத்தில் திராட்சைக் கொடிகளில், தரை தட்டிய
இரு கிளைக் கொடிகளை வெட்ட, அவற்றிலேயிருந்து,
ஒரு பாத்திரம் நிறைய பச்சை திராக்ஷைகள் கிடைக்க,
நண்பர் சொன்னதுபோல, 'திராட்சைத் தொக்கு' போல,
நல்ல ஊறுகாய் தயாரித்து, பாட்டிலில் இட்டேன். நமது
வீட்டுக் காய்கள் என்றாலே, சிறப்பு ருசிதானே! அதிலே
கொட்டைகள் பல இருந்தாலும், ருசி மிக்க ஊறுகாயே!
அம்மாவிடம் பேசும்போது, இது பற்றிச் சொன்னவுடனே,
அம்மாவிடமிருந்து வந்தது, சின்ன பாட்டிலுக்கு 'ஆர்டர்'!
அடுத்த பரீட்சை, 'கோகுலாஷ்டமி' பக்ஷணங்கள்; மிக்ஸி
எடுத்து, வறுத்த உளுந்துப் பொடி செய்யப் பயம் தோன்ற,
கடையில் வாங்கிய நைஸ் உளுந்துப் பொடியை வறுத்து,
சீடையின் மாவு செய்து, எண்ணையில் இட்டதும், சிலது,
சின்ன வெடிகுண்டுபோல ஓசை எழுப்பிப் பறக்க, நானும்
என்ன செய்வதென்று தெரியாது விழிக்க, சுதாரித்த பின்,
தோசைக் கல்லைக் கேடயமாக வைத்தபடியே, சீடையின்
ஆசை மனதிலிருந்து நீங்கிவிட, அடுப்பை அணைத்தேன்!
சின்னப் பெண்ணாக நான் இருந்தபோது, நண்பி மாமிகூட,
சின்ன வெடிகுண்டாக மாறிய சீடை பற்றிச் சொன்னார்!
முகத்திலும் மாமிக்கு எண்ணெய் பட்டு, சீடை போலவே,
முகத்தில் கொப்பளித்தது போல, ஆகாமல் பிழைத்தேன்!
ஒரு ஆஸ்பத்திரி அனுபவம் எனக்குப் போதும்! இன்னும்
ஒரு அனுபவத்துக்கு நான் தயாரில்லை, ஆண்டவனே!
மிஞ்சிய சீடை மாவில் நீர் விட்டுக் கரைத்து, அதனுடன்
இஞ்சி, கொத்தமல்லி சேர்த்து, தோசையாக வார்த்தேன்!

there are closed t-fal and such, oil fryers available. that will rid the problem of pop-up cheedais and such.
mrs K and self, used to do it this way in our early married years: i used to help out with cheedais, we used to spread them out on hand paper towels to dry out the moisture, and then immerse them in oil. that worked. most of the time
congrats on the thokku
you will also see cranberries in the supermarket. they make good thokku too. incidentally, most of the cranberries in canada, are grown by sikh farmers in west coast b.c. not sure of usa cranberries, though, whether these are imported from canada, or grown locally - sikh or otherwise.

Dear Sir,
I think the culprit was the nice flour (uLndhu) In all these 34 years of my cheedai making, this is the first time...
:boom:Exploding cheedais!!
Thokku is really very yummmy... Finishing fast.
I tried thokku with green apples and they are yummy too! Shall try cranberries soon and let you know.

என்னவர் இருந்ததை, மறக்க முனைகிறேன்!
பூக்கள் ரோஜா, பட்டன் ரோஜா, டெய்சி மாறி,
பூக்கள் பல வேறு வகையில் மலர்கின்றன.

The language is the only powerful instrument we have to heal, to nurture, to cherish, to forgive, to bring smile, to love, to understand and to bless… I just want to share this small yet beautiful story with you. So, I am posting here in your thread. Please excuse me for doing so.
The Power of Words
There once was a wise sage who wandered the countryside. One day, as he passed near a village, he was approached by a woman who told him of a sick child nearby. She requested him to help this child.
So the sage came to the village, and a crowd gathered around him, for such a man was a rare sight. One woman brought the sick child to him, and he said a prayer over her.
"Do you really think your prayer will help her, when medicine has failed?" yelled a man from the crowd.
"You know nothing of such things! You are a stupid fool!" said the sage to the man.
The man became very angry with these words and his face grew hot and red. He was about to say something, or perhaps strike out, when the sage walked over to him and said: "If one word has such power as to make you so angry and hot, may not another have the power to heal?"
And thus, the sage healed two people that day.

Thanks again TBS Sir!
We attended a birthday party (!!) last evening - Saturday and rain had started already. Before leaving we went
to the yard to safe keep all 'flying' stuff. This morning I wished to video the slash of rain and lo and behold...
my battery is exhausted! Expect heavy rains and winds till noon. So, keeping my fingers X!! Regards......
