2. Tamilnadu Govt. subsidises those who visit Macca for a Haj pilgrimage. You can join next time. And I think some sort of concession is available for a visit to Vatikan too. There is no such subsidy for those who visit booloka vaikuntam or booloka kailasam. You are on your own.

People throng temples to ask for something or the other.

Even if God were to stand in front of them..they will tell Him 'Not now..move away I am busy" and keep on asking for something or the other.

No one actually prays in a temple..its just a Stock Market!

At least temples are stock markets. Renukaji do you know about churches? They are places where "bird watching" is the main activity. I have participated in prayers in church and given qurbani. Jokes apart when powers that be get carried away and start laying down dress codes which are repulsive , give preferances for caste signs u or Y or Three straight lines across

foreheads, there is a need to revolt .these self styled protectors of religion have discriminated based on castes and subcastes and given a bad name to hindu religion.

ladies are revolted and look for alternative religions to get away from the oppressive practices laid down by odd swamis who claim to be sole protectors of religion'

even in this forum you find some self styles guardians of saivite ansd vaishnavite sects called TBs who try to decide what others should do in religeous matters.

i am a vaishnavite brahmin by birth.

it was closing time with hardly anyone except the priest.

there was a board saying upper garments are not allowed.

I stayed at entrance and let my wife go in for puja.

the priest was told about my reluctance to enter on this account by my wife.

the priest came out and took me in and performed the puja with my wife standing next to me.

what do you think of this.?

That is high philosophy which goes above my head. I am a poor Iyengar fellow (like the common man of R.K.Lakshman) who knows only his naamams and his Narayana. She said she wanted something direct to the point without too much complication.

I wonder why?

That is not an excuse.

When I was in India in year 1990..I visited a temple which had 2 separate dining halls..one for Brahmins and one for Non Brahmins.

After praying my mother was heading to the Brahmin dining hall which was right for her.

I was heading to the NB dining hall and my mother called out to me to follow her.

I said No...that is not meant for me..I am not a Brahmin, only you are.

Then she said 'who will know..you are my daughter come with me"

I said 'No..I wont go"

So my mum finally sat with me in the NB section(which is also fine becos my dad is NB)

So you see RR ji..one should not do anything with deceit in a temple.
